Over the past few years, off-road vehicle manufacturers of all things fun have been doing battle with our government. From the side of the manufacturers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wants to make changes that will have unintended consequences. Furthermore, the safety mandates are said to be untested and likely to make ATVs and ROVs less user-friendly. The government sees these vehicles as tippy death traps dying for seatbelt interlocks, a wider, lower stance, passive protections like side panels where doors would be, and many other changes under the skin to make these vehicles less threatening.
