  1. I already found a local home for this plug.
  2. I had one, but donated it to a local Austin area member...(I keep getting inquiries, hence the reason for the post). Thanks.
  3. I just clicked on it and it worked for me...it is basically the GM Customer Service profile and to the right there is a box that says "Send me a message" which opens a window to PM the GM Customer Service person. You have to be logged in to send a message to them. http://www.gm-trucks...stomer-service/ Another way to get to them is by going to the top of the page and click on Members and then search GM Customer and you should see the profile for GM Customer Service. You can click on it and send them a message.
  4. I bought them from another member for $200 in the For Sale section already painted. They were take offs where someone had them taken off at a dealer and installed the chrome handles / mirror caps. I simply removed the chrome and replaced with color matched. There are also some on Ebay for sale already painted.
  5. Cleaning out my garage after trading in my 2014 Silverado...found one of these plugs (no LEDs) from the GM Bed LED kit for a 2014 - 2015...if anyone interested PM me and we'll work something out to cover the cost of shipping...
  6. From the album: My Tundra

  8. 2nd from bottom (1 up from stock). I didn't care about "leveling". Just wanted a better ride.
  9. I replaced the black stock shocks with Bilsteins. I like to say the ride is more controlled now. Less shaking and bouncing with the Bilsteins. My wife used to say she felt like a bobble head when riding with the stockers, but not now.
  10. Latest picture after color matched handles and mirror covers, side de-badging and High Country grille install..
  11. OP, since you say it isn't a Chevy dealer, what "dealer" did you take it to that gives you "3 free ones"? GM dealer should repair/replace those hoses if under warranty. I believe one of those might be the transmission cooler line which had a recall some time ago to make sure it wasn't leaking...
  12. The radios are probably different part numbers. We learned that many part numbers were used and have various software releases. Other than that, who knows? Why did the software/hardware update work better in one truck than another? No one knows yet...this may be part of the reason they can't (or won't) figure it out for us. Mine got extremely better with the newer hardware/software installation, but mine was an early build. TJAY was so frustrated with this that he got a buy back...never solved his issue either. I can live with mine, but....
  13. I was concerned about this too since it gets over 100 here in the summer. My OEM bed lights are attached with screws to tabs that are angled between the side panels and top rails on either side. When I added lights, I found a similar area that I was able to use by drilling pilot holes and sheet metal screws. The wires are hidden and covered with plastic flex tubing.
  14. definitely a "mean" look if that's what you are going for. I'd take it back to the normal bolts...it seems a bit too much for me...but that's me...
  15. I'd like to clarify a couple of things for you guys regarding the GM Borla exhaust system. Yes, I have one. First, Borla does not sell this system directly. The GM Borla (Performance) exhaust system is sold through GM dealers and their web sites. For example, I purchased mine from Banner Automotive through their Amazon store. In August 2015, my purchase price was $1,020 plus $144.95 for the chrome tips kit. The tips are extra (not included in the kit) and come in chrome or black. According to several GM Accessories sites, the normal GM tips do not fit this GM Borla exhaust system. It is a very high quality, easy to install cat back system. One of the differences from other Borla exhaust systems or other manufacturers is that it includes a Passive Exhaust Valve (PEV, aka "flapper") that appears to be of higher quality than stock and is mounted on a bypass to the main exhaust pipe (think of having a loop attached to the main pipe with the valve inside) which eliminates the restriction, but helps with AFM/DOD noise. The sound is compared to a "Touring" sound, so if you were to go to Borla's web site and listen to the "Touring", it would be close as compared to "Sport" or "ATAK". Another note...even the Corsa exhaust systems for these trucks is more expensive now than they were a few years ago. I too was surprised. I am not intending to start another "exhaust system bash" thread, but just wanted to share my experience with purchasing my GM Borla exhaust system. I wanted a complete system and all that entails. I normally install exhaust upgrades myself, but had Midas do this one since it was over 100 degrees here, in Texas, when I bought it.
  16. Reminds me of my 2001 Silverado RC 4.3L 2WD...these trucks are so much bigger!
  17. Both look good DB! I've been thinking about the valence too. Hmmm. What'd you use to trim it?
  18. I cleaned a !@#$% melted plastic bag off my truck's my exhaust. Man, did that bag stink and made quite a mess. Yes, it was empty. Got out the heat gun, Scotch Brite pads and putty knife and went to it. All gone now. Not my favorite mod, but glad that's all it was.
  19. Gotcha...not had this issue. But I have read where others have experienced the tech not filling it properly. When the dealer did my "free" changes, I checked the dipstick immediately after I got back home. They were spot on. Now, I give the oil change shop (that I have been using for many years to do my annual inspection and oil changes on all my cars) the exact 8 quarts of M1 needed and the filter. Again, I check it each time as soon as I get home. I've gone 3,000 miles and mine still reads full. Another thought...I do have AFM turned off and have for some time.
  20. So, I will admit I am a little confused by your question. Oil Life Monitor (info screen) at 70% has nothing to do with losing oil. OLM uses a formula based on miles and engine operation. If OLM is at 70%, then you most likely put some miles on in the last month or it wasn't reset at the last oil change. Now, if your dipstick is reading low (which it should be if you got an Oil Level Low warning), then I would wonder if it was filled properly at the last oil change or if you are burning oil/leaking it somewhere. I have read where some shops (including dealer techs) think these new V8 motors hold the same as previous generations and they put 6 quarts instead of 8. I hope this helps? From the Silverado Owners Manual: This vehicle has a computer system that indicates when to change the engine oil and filter. This is based on a combination of factors which include engine revolutions, engine temperature, and miles driven. Based on driving conditions, the mileage at which an oil change is indicated can vary considerably. For the oil life system to work properly, the system must be reset every time the oil is changed.
  21. Makes sense. I took quick look at it when I took it off the honeycomb grille and then put it on my work bench. I figured I'd take a look at it later on. Good idea though...if the badging stays on the doors and tail gate with the tape, then it should stay on the grille.
  22. Hi DB, how did you attach the LTZ badge? I kept my badge, but didn't think about installing it in the HC grille...looks nice
  23. Have mine on stock ride height truck and have never hit a curb in over 2 years of use. Close, but never hit. They are the perfect step height for me, my wife (who is 5' high) and my 87 year old parents. The GM running boards / steps were always too high.
  24. Looks nice Tony! I've seen a lot of pictures of lifts including extreme body lifts...I like your "stretch" look in your signature!
