  1. Yes, it appears Cadillacs do have the same issue. Do a search on cadillacforums.com. Here are some comments from the owner of a 2014 ATS: Radio Issues - The radio reception is terrible. It is always going in and out of HD causing the volume to spike up and down. I've been listening to the same radio stations for the past 15 years (in multiple cars) without any issues. I don't know if this is common or just something with my vehicle but the reception is bad even know turning off HD option. As an aside, my replacement hardware was registered with XM as a Cadillac demo - I got one year free XM after my radio was replaced. I think this was an anomaly because when I called in to transfer the new radio to my account, the XM phone agent told me to cancel until just before the demo ran out. When I called in 11 months later, I was told that this was a mistake.
  2. You're welcome. It took me some time to figure it out too. OM is not very clear. Glad you got it and some Nav routes too. If you need more "lines", there is a setting in the radio settings to manage favorites where it lets you choose the number of lines. Glad I could help.
  3. Go to my.chevrolet.com and check your VIN. Seems some 2014-2015 GM trucks have trailer hitch receivers that could break along one of the welds. Of course, if this happens, this could result in losing control of a trailer being towed at the time. If on the list, GM will replace the hitch receiver. I've had many vehicles of many makes and this is the worst quality I have ever seen. Even though I don't like the looks of the Tundra, it may be the best choice for me in the long run. I had two Fords that had electric issues and had to walk away. Not in any hurry...just disappointed.
  4. I understand. I've seen some of your other posts. I was just poking at you. It must be very frustrating to have purchased such a potentially nice truck, only to have lots of nagging issues. I've been fortunate that my issues were few and fixed. But it bugs me that I have yet another recall to deal with (the trailer hitch recall that just came out) and my dealer doesn't know when they will get the replacement parts. My 2011 had a much better radio and only one recall. I owned it for 2 ½ years and the only time I took it in was to have the oil changed. So, I can only imagine how disappointed you are. I only hope your next one will be better...
  5. I see a lot of Rams around here and they do look pretty nice. At least you know the radio should be better (but the Chevy car radios receive better than the trucks, so you know what to look for). Good luck.
  6. My battery died after 2 ½ years, 13,000 miles on my 2014 LTZ 5.3L. It acted very strange with slow crank several times and then wouldn't start. It would jump start and run, but never restart without "help". I put it on a charger / tester which said it was completely charged and nothing wrong, but as soon as I opened the door, the voltage would drop quickly. Radio also was acting weird. It would not stay on a station properly and would not let me select a favorite until it ran a while. A lot of hissing and popping like a AM station does during a lightening storm, but it was FM. Took it to the dealer since it is still under the bumper to bumper warranty. They rested it and said CCA was only 151 instead of 720. Replaced battery under warranty.
  7. There is another thread on here about this very question...a member had the dealer replace the headliner due to concerns about mold. Carpet would be a candidate as well, but most are attempting to get theirs fixed before any other areas are affected. There was another member who had seat rails replaced due to rust. So yes, others are concerned, but it's what they do about it that varies based upon their circumstances.
  8. Shameful...(not that you are driving the Durango, but that the GM radio isn't as good!)
  9. Now that's slammed! You can use the front air dam to sweep leaves off of the street..??
  10. On my 2014 with the 8inch screen...Assuming Phone is paired and connected, go to main menu and Select Phone...select Contacts...swipe up between Recent and Keypad to expose favorite key. Press favorite key and release. Above Contacts list it will say, "Select an item to store". Scroll down to Contact you want to store and tap on it. You should hear a beep.the phone number now shows up in your Favorites on the DIC screen as well. Don't know about the other problem. There have been software updates making the radios different year to year. My radio does come back after receiving a call. And when I make an outgoing call, it stays on the last screen. In other words, if I use the Favorite list on the DIC when listening to the radio, then the 8" screen goes back to the radio, but DIC screen stays on Favorites.
  11. Fixed my Pop & Lock power tailgate lock...darn Scotchlocks!
  12. Well, I had my first failure with the Pop & Lock tailgate kit...or did I? Ran some errands today and when I returned, I didn't hear the familiar "thud" when I put her in park inside the garage. Got out of the truck to investigate and tried the remote. Ok, so it's been working great for almost two years. Started with the VOM at the tailgate. No voltage when lock or unlock on the remote. Opened the kick plate. No voltage on the wires when using the remote here either. Then I noticed one of the wires had come loose from the Scotchlock fastener! Yanked them out...stripped and soldered the wires. ALL IS WELL!!! (Been meaning to solder these wires...well, now it's done). I think I heard someone else (Fondupot) say, "DON'T USE THE SUPPLIED SCOTCHLOCKS! "
  13. In the search window, type RetraxPro and you'll see all of the many comments and pictures in this thread. Search is your friend...

    GM Borla Tips

The sound is better than stock, but not too loud, like a truck should sound. Nice start up and when accelerating, but quiet when at highway speed. I bought it from a GM dealer in Louisiana through Amazon. Full Borla warranty. I normally would install myself, but it was over 100 F outside so I had Midas install it for $100. Took them an hour.
  18. This happened to me once...exactly the same...
  19. I have read about this issue before and very intermittent like yours. Mine likes to drop the 3 phone favorites I have saved into the buttons. And once when my battery was acting up, I would press a favorite station, it would change but not stay illuminated. Every once in a while, some flaky stuff...
  20. I did the same thing...traded 2011 Silerado in on my 2014 after an oil change and tire rotation at the dealer...
  21. "What will be the radio fix for the rest of us?I am sure everyone will not get their truck bought back.I know TJ did a lot of work..." Based on TJAYs latest remarks, the most recent fix effort didn't fix it and due to his efforts and discussion with GM, he's getting a new truck. I was able to get the previous PI1288a fix done which made mine "satisfactory" to me, but not great. And it has varied results with others. My truck has had no other issues that haven't been addressed. I like my truck and have also done so many mods that I don't want another truck. It's also clear to me that no other fixes are coming...not sure they CAN fix it... So, what about the rest of us? If you are wiling to take up the fight, then you are certainly welcome to or push for a buy back. I'm just going to live with it...
  22. They are awesome and just the right height for me, my short wife and 87 yr old parents. Very well built and they stand behind their products.
  23. I've used the GM OEM rolled tips before and they are high quality. Sourced them by shopping the part number on the Internet. Usually find good prices from GM dealers selling through eBay. My dealer gave me one for my current truck as part of my deal, but I replaced it with the Borla tips after installing the GM Borla exhaust.
  24. Not sure, but it sounds like PI1288a that was done to my truck. There have been varied results. Mine is much better after both hardware and software replacement. Others' results have not been as good.
  25. Also, very quiet compared to the Corsa which is a sport version. And yes, when I had a Corsa on my 2014 Silverado (5.3L), it was louder than my son's 2010 Silverado 5.3L sitting side by side. He wishes his is as loud as mine was (I actually sold it and went to the GM Borla because the Corsa was too loud for me).
