  1. I actually bought some Gorilla tape. It's some pretty sticky stuff.
  2. That has actually crossed my mind lol With my luck, that too would drop in and that wouldn't be good with these Texas summers.
  3. That's not a bad idea! I'm still going to bring a scope home and see if I can visualize it, then try your method. Thanks for the suggestion.
  4. If I can see where's it's at, maybe I can wrap some double sided tape to my fish tape reel and try to get the coin to stick to it while viewing with the scope.
  5. You know I could actually "borrow" a scope from work. I'm in the healthcare field and we use what is called a bronchoscope to go down patient's lungs. We have disposable ones that are at least 3 feet long.
  6. If it continues, I just might have to lol. I can't stand rattles in my trucks.
  7. Yes duquephart, that's what I meant.
  8. I'm pretty sure American coins aren't made with enough metal for a magnet to work.
  9. Been there before. When my son was 1, he dropped a toy down the port on the back of my subwoofer. Fortunately I was able to take the amp off the back and get it that way.
  10. I did take all the vents out the other day to see what I was dealing with and I'll definitely have to get a vacuum hose and try that way. My mother-in-law has a really flat vacuum hose she uses to vacuum out the lint from her dryer vent that's inside the dryer, not the the one leading outside. That's a pretty narrow opening, so maybe I'll have luck with that. I just don't know how long that hose is.
  11. Ugh... You really think I'll have to break it down that much to get it out? I can do it, but I'm sure not looking forward to it lol.
  12. So my problem is just what the title says. My 2 year old "princess" decided to drop a coin down the defrost while we were waiting for my boys to get out of school. Everytime I turn or slow down, I can hear it rolling around and it's driving me absolutely nuts! What's weird though is that if you're sitting in the driver's seat it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side, but it's the opposite if you're sitting in the passenger seat. That's why I think it was dropped in the defrost. Anyone have any tips on getting this out?
  13. Exactly. Some days I'm like "the miles are adding up. Maybe I should take the wife's Acadia........nah" lol
  14. 59,000 (41,000 away from a Blackbear tune!!!) 2014 Sierra 5.3 z71 4x4 No issues.
  15. Thanks for taking the time to explain all that Stryker. I kinda knew it was going to be a PITA after seeing where the molex plugs were inside the truck and you just confirmed it for me. Unfortunately I do not have the Bose system, so I would need to tap into the factory wiring at the kick panels. Which presents another problem because I need to find out where to tap into after the wiring has split going to dash and door speakers. I'm wanting to leave the dash speakers for factory chimes and therefore unamped. When I get more time I'll have to thoroughly inspect the wiring at the kick panels and see what I come up with.
  16. Crewl1, I looked at it today and you might be right about just splicing into factory wiring for the front speakers. I see no way to get to the factory harness on the door jam from inside the truck!!! It's totally different than previous models. There's actually metal framing between harness and the inside of truck where your left foot would sit. I can barely even see the harness from inside the truck.
  17. That would work, but I really don't want to start cutting up the factory wiring. Plus, I'd rather have 14 gauge wire running to my components than the 22 gauge factory wiring. I guess I like to make it hard on myself lol.
  18. Thanks for the info. I am not using existing wiring for the fronts because I do not want loud chimes. I have the non-Bose 8" screen setup.
  19. Curious to find out the process to run new speaker wire to the front doors in these new trucks. Will I have to drill a hole on the factory harnesses on door jam and door? Or is there space available to run the wire straight through the boot? I would use factory wiring, but I am tapping the signal from rear door speakers, to LC2i, to amp then new wire to the front door speakers. I am doing it this way so I won't have loud door chimes. I plan on mounting a small speaker under dash connected to factory front door wiring to keep my chimes.
  20. I have OCD when it comes to album artwork, but for some reason xm not showing it doesn't bother me one bit. Guess I am just used to over the air radio not showing that kind of stuff. I do however make sure my SD card songs show the artwork. No artwork on my SD card, my computer or my phone drives me nuts.
  21. At least these newer ones look a whole lot better than previous model key fobs. My wife has a '12 Acadia and going from her key fob to mine makes me feel like I am driving a luxury car lol.
  22. I didn't know the forum had an Instagram. I just started following them.
  23. Those lights look awesome!! Where did you happen to ground the LED lights?
  24. oh okay. I see what you mean about OEM HID.
  25. Just installed the 35W 4500K Sierra spec kit from TRS and wow! What a difference over stock! I know people say 4500K is the closest to stock, but in my opinion, it is nowhere near stock. The light is a bright white and even though they're 4500K, there is still a small hint of blue with no yellow whatsoever. I am glad I went with the 4500K because I think the 5500K would've been a little too blue for my liking. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this topic! Made installation a breeze.
