  1. You might be able to tie the liner back and make it work, I didn't try that though. The issue I see with raising the front on the new trucks is you can't go as far before the front is higher than the rear. I'd have them test fit with your wheels and see if the liner can be tied back.
  2. Without projector beams, LED's need to be adjusted down to avoid blinding oncoming traffic, pet peeve of mine for those that add LED's with out adjusting way down or install them in a housing not intended for them.
  3. If I were to crank mine up 2", I'd be higher than the rear. Not as much rake on the 20's. 295/65/20 should clear with no cranking of the bars with stock rims.
  4. I'm waiting for your next comment to be that you never had this problem with your Ford. Take it to the dealer, its a brand new truck, pretty certain that will be the prevailing comment here.
  5. I agree. The GM Nav is horrible IMO. Not necessarily the look or the integration with the HUD but the actual routing is terrible. I have checked all of the route settings yet it continues to plan routes that are bizarre and I have Onstar integrated with it as well. It has been so bad at planning routes that I can no longer trust it. It will get you where you ask it to take you but crazy ridiculous routes. I've entered in directions to places that I know the best route to, the NAV will route and give an estimated arrival time of let's say 11:30. Along the route it will have me turn down a road that I know is not a good route, I'll continue straight at which point the Nav re-routes and my estimated arrival time drops by 5 minutes...This happens all the time. Save your money and don't get factory nav, use carplay or the android option.
  6. Until GM offers a 10spd for the 6.6 gas, I will never consider one for my personal vehicle. I have two 2020 gasser work trucks for my business but my personal truck is a 2020 HC Duramax., The 6.6 gas is cheaper than the Duramax and gets the job done just fine but IMO they are not even close to being as pleasurable to drive as the Duramax. Long drives towing with the gas, lots of shifting and high revs whereas the Duramax quietly hums along with power to spare. Even if i didn't tow much I would prefer the diesel. The additional maintenance costs are well worth it! The 10spd in the Duramax is awesome, so don't forget about that benefit as well. As far as the reliability, I have not had one issue with emissions on Duramax trucks and I've used them for plowing, short daily drives and everything in between. Don't let the comments about reliability and all the emissions issues scare you away, they are very few and far between. The Duramax/Allison also has a 100,000 mile power train warranty, gasser only 60k. All that said, I would be very interested to drive the 6.6 gas with a 10spd transmission, I just can't understand why they wouldn't offer it. The GM HD gas motors are incredibly reliable, we have had some transmissions go on our gas work trucks but not one issue with the previous 6.0's and I'm assuming the 6.6's will be just as reliable. Drive them both and decide for yourself..
  7. Originally they (and still are) were mandated by the government to alert other drivers that a larger vehicle was approaching. I believe if the truck is over 80” wide they are required. They expanded to smaller vehicles because many, including me, think they look pretty cool. When I look at an HD without them it almost seems like something is missing..
  8. Based on my personal experience with the factory nav, I wouldn't waste the time or money. Use Apple Carplay or something similar, much more accurate IMO.
  9. Correct. It's conflicting info though given what the tech is telling me. When asked he said the 3500 DRW is not limited but the SRW 2500 and 3500 are...bit of a marketing word play on GM's part if you ask me. Either way, not a big deal.
  10. So I was at the dealer dropping my truck off this morning and was told the difference is between the 3500 DRW and the SRW HD's (whether 3500 or 2500). So if comparisons are to be made it should be SRW's vs DRW's. Dealer tech told me the axle on the 2500 and 3500 diesels are the same.
  11. Any idea why GM would program very mild torque limiting that's hard to tell? If it's that minor, why do it at all?
  12. just turned 30,000 miles on my 2020, been a great transmission and wouldn't go back to the 6spd.
  13. Curb rash or what is the issue? Pics would help. If it was curbed by someone during a test drive, i can understand why GM would deny a warranty claim. No different, in that scenario, than backing into a pole and asking gm to cover the bumper under warranty.
  14. Just put your wife to work with a product called Elbow Grease.
  15. Thanks. I've switched the wheels/tires already since that pic! lol I don't remember the brand of the hitch but it works fine, a bit of messing around to swap ball size but it works well for adjusting height.
  16. That looks awesome! What are the specs? Lift? Wheel offset, Tire size. Makes me want to re-think mine!
  17. I could see that look if they ever went back to offering an 1500HD. I prefer the new HD's the way they are though.
  18. They will fit no problem. Leveled you could probably go with 295's even.
  19. I've noticed mine won't show full right away, seems to take a while. Not sure why.
  20. I have 19,500 on my 2020 and it certainly seems like it uses more DEF than my 2017.
  21. I could type your response word for word as I have had a similar experience with one change.. I don't like the new GMC's grill. The Silverado High Country is far better.
  22. 11,000 miles on my 10spd and so far I prefer it over the 6spd. Like others have said, time will tell on reliability but so far so good.
  23. As a side note to this, I think the GMC might have a tad more room than the Chevy based on the comments I’ve read. I have +20 XD rims 20” with 285/65/20 Nitto G2’s and they just barely touch at full lock in reverse. On the GMC it sounds like the 295’s fit the same way the 285’s fit the Chevy. My truck is stock so a slight raise of the front would help but I prefer to leave this one alone.
  24. I think the new interior is laid out nicely in my opinion and while not much different from the previous model a nice evolution. Lots of little things addressed on the new trucks that aren't necessarily noticed until you live with one for a while. Could the screen be bigger?? Maybe but not a huge deal to me. Overall very happy with the 2020 HD especially how much smoother they ride.
  25. Really not an apples to apples comparison. If all GM was trying to do is get good mileage while towing, I'm sure they could do better. But the fact is there are sources like TFL truck and others that drag race them loaded and unloaded and like it or not how they perform in these tests help sell them. And I'm willing to bet most people will give up some MPG to have them perform well in all scenarios. So given the size of these trucks and the wide range of how they are used and what most buyers demand, I wouldn't flat out say GM is not getting things right.
