  1. I've got a 2015 Sierra and had the PI1376 fix done about 3 weeks ago and have not had any seat movement since the fix. I refuse to put the hose clamps on that others have done to fix the seat movement because I don't think I should have to do this on a brand new truck. This is GM's problem and I expect them to fix it. I'm hopeful that this has permanently fixed the problem and will report back if I have any more seat movement issues.
  2. I had 15,000 miles on my 2014 when GM bought it back.... the vibration was the same at 15,000 miles as it was at 4,000 miles.
  3. September 2014 (9/14)
  4. Just got my truck back and no more seat movement. My paperwork says "Performed PI1376"... does anyone know what that means? The service writer told me they installed some shims and a new clip.
  5. I have this same problem on my 2015 1500 Sierra Crew Cab SLT 5.3L short box. It sounds like two pieces of metal hitting each other every time I hit the gas when it it in V4 mode and shifts to V8 mode. I plan on taking it in soon to have it looked at. I've read on this forum that it has something to do with the exhaust system and a flapper valve. I'll post an update after I take it in a few weeks from now.
  6. Yes, the 2015 1500's have the seat movement issue too. The drivers seat on my 2015 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab SLT with the bench seat setup shifts when I go around corners, make a quick stop, and hit a bump. It is very annoying. I've taken it in twice now and it's still not fixed. It did not do it when I first bought it and I started noticing it around 1200 miles. I am due for an oil change in the next week or so and will have them look at it again when I take it in. The shifting and movement of the seat is distracting and causes me to lose focus on driving every time it happens. I wonder if anyone has been in an accident caused by this seat movement issue.
  7. Hey Eddie A. Why is GM continuing to sell Sierras and Silverados in bad faith that vibrate without disclosing this? When will a fix be available? Sincerely, FishingBear
  8. Hey Eddie, How many complaints is GM receiving on a daily or weekly basis regarding vibration with the Sierras and Silverados? Sincerely, FishingBear
  9. It' not the transition that I notice. It's more like the engine is struggling to push the truck down the road in V4 mode when going 50 mph. I notice mine more at 35mph.
  10. The deal was MSRP to MSRP. I haven't seen the final paperwork yet so I'm not sure if it's a buyback or trade assist. I really don't care what they call it as long as I don't have to pay anything to swap out this vibrating truck for a new one. The truck I ordered had the exact same options so the MSRP's are the same. I'll post the details after the deal is finalized.... unless they require me to sign something that keeps me from discussing it. I also don't expect to pay for the 8,500 miles I've put on it either but who knows. The dealer told me that when they do a buy back they usually don't try to get you for the miles.
  11. Check to see if this is happening when your AFM switches to V4 mode.... I noticed this too and was told it had to do with the engine running on 4 cylinders.
  12. I'm almost out of it but it sure has taken a while!
  13. I filed a defect notice (lemon law) in July with GM after my truck had been in for 5 repair attempts and had been at the dealer for a total of 27 days. I had multiple sets of new tires installed, a new driveshaft, and "adjustments" made to the rear end. After they received my notice my case was escalated to their mitigation department and they scheduled the final repair attempt. I dropped it off and picked it up two days later - once I got on the highway on the way home it started to shake so I called back to the GM mitigation department and said it still shakes and that I was not satisfied. About a week later they approved a buyback. I drove 5 trucks that all shook worse than mine. GM then offered to order a 15 for me. It just came in last week and I'm waiting for the paperwork to be finalized. I dealt with the shaking truck for 8 weeks while they tried to fix it and have waited another 10 weeks during the buyback process. My recommendation is to remain professional but firm. You need to maintain a good relationship with your dealer and service manager because they are going to be your best advocate. Good luck.
  14. I live in Florida were the speed limit is 70 mph. They gave me crap about driving over 70 mph and said they weren't obligated to fix it because I was "breaking the law." I asked them to provide me with a document stating that my truck was specifically designed and built to be driven only in Florida and not designed and built for interstate commerce. They never mentioned the speed limit again and the next phone call I got was to schedule the final repair attempt.
  15. I hope the 2015's don't shake. I filed lemon law and GM intervened and decided to buy back my 2014. I ordered a 2015 as a replacement and it's due in by the end of the month. I'll let you know how it drives after it comes in. I have been dealing with this since June....
  16. You should expect to pay more if the truck you are looking at is more than the one you currently own. I am in the process of a buy back now and all I look at is the MSRP because that is what they are using as a basis to compare costs. If it's a few hundred dollars more they might eat it to keep you happy but I would not expect $6-7k, especially since you are considering going from a 1500 to a 2500. I was also told that they would cover any price escalation costs if there is a price increase in cost for a truck that is exactly the same. Be patient though, it's somewhat of a slow process because the deal has to be approved by several people before it can go through. Now the problem for me is that the deliveries on the 14's have slowed in anticipation of the 15's so I'm having trouble finding one I like. Also, hopefully this goes without saying but you need to test drive the new truck on the highway at up to 75 mph to make sure you are happy. I've driven a total of 6 now and 4 had terrible vibration that was worse than mine. Of the two that I liked, I made the mistake in thinking that GM would cover the difference in cost to keep me happy and it was $4,000 more than my current truck. I was wrong and didn't want to pay that much of a difference so I had to walk away from it. I am waiting to hear back on the second one I liked to confirm that they will accept the buy back. It's been a week since I drove that one and I am waiting to hear back from GM. Good luck and my advice is to be patient and remain calm.
  17. I wonder if the 2015 1500's will shake and vibrate? I've been checking dealer inventory at the GMC dealerships in my area everyday for the past two weeks and finally this morning a 2015 Sierra Denali 1500 is showing as "In Transit." The Denali is out of my price range but hopefully it's a sign that the 2015's are starting to roll out. Has anyone driven a 2015 1500 crew cab yet?
  18. It's not a criminal offense to deny warranty service however GM has a contractual obligation to hold up their end of the deal based on the purchase agreement details. For a new car purchase, a warranty is typically included in these purchase details. If GM denies a legitimate warranty claim they are in violation of that contract. If you take it to court and are successful you may be entitled to punitive damages for harassment. Regarding my personal experience with these vibration issues that GM has admitted they can't fix, I have consulted with an attorney and have decided to proceed with a lemon law claim. According to my state, if the automobile manufacturer is found to have harassed the customer, the judgement can be double or triple the value. This sucks.
  19. Your new truck comes with a 1 year / 12,000 mile tire warranty. If you have a tire problem within the warranty period they have to fix it. My dealer replaced my tires multiple times under warranty and I now have Michelins on my truck.... But that hasn't fixed the vibration for me. Perhaps GM is starting to realize that the vibration is not tire related so they aren't swapping out tires like they were a few months ago. Also, if you have less than 7,500 miles they will road force balance your tires at no charge.
  20. I know what you meant.... and I agree with you that it makes logical sense to buy them back so they can figure out what is causing the vibration. The reality is that GM thinks it's acceptable for a truck to shake on the highway since they continue to tell me that it is "road input" or "a normal operating characteristic of the vehicle" or "performing as designed." But they won't give you a yes or no answer when you ask them if it is safe to drive. They will use the buzz words mentioned above and talk in circles until you end the call.
  21. They'll buy it back and then put it on the used car lot for someone else to deal with.
  22. Are these seat issues on the 60/40 bench or on the bucket seats? I'm tall so I have my seat positioned in the full down position and I don't notice any movement but my driver's seat on my 60/40 makes a loud creaking noise every time I get in and out of the truck. This started happening at around 6,000 miles. Standing outside the truck, I can push down on the front left corner and replicate the noise. It's very annoying and sounds cheap.
  23. I'm not an engineer but I think it might be transmission or driveline related. It's not the tires. My basis for this is the fact that I've had the tires replaced multiple times, my current tires are road forced under 10#'s, a new drive shaft, and the ring and pinion inspected with no fix to the vibration. Regarding the temperature changes, my vibration is present in the morning when it's 78 degrees at 6am during my morning commute and in the afternoon when its 95 degrees during my afternoon commute. I do notice a little more vibration when I've been on the highway for 45+ minutes. I mainly travel newly paved federal interstates so I don't believe it to be road related or "road input" as GM calls it.
  24. Those who are currently following this thread, if you still have vibration problems, please post where your truck was assembled and if you have a short or long bed. I have a short bed crew cab assembled in Mexico. The last time I spoke with a representative at GM they mentioned that they believe the problem is worse in the long bed trucks because of the two piece drive shaft. Thank you for your participation.
