  1. Roughly how much did the e85 parts run? Was it a plug and play or did the ECU still not recognize e85 and throw a code until the new tune was loaded?
  2. Oops, forgot about the year change but still, it's been the same since 13, these are 16's that are having issues, again, R&D wont do a thing once the part has spent 3 years in production. Recalls aren't a bad thing. So many people have it stuck in their head that a recall is a horrible thing. Again, a problem fixed with no money out of my pocket? I'm happy... So far no recalls on my 15 either... Though, I did just receive a recall for my 09 GSX-R's master cylinder, again, happy they're fixing it without it becoming an issue or costing me money.
  3. ....the same part has been in use since at least 2009... R&D isn't the issue. Crap happens, the good manufactures make things right.
  4. No car or manufacture is immune from recalls. It can strike anything no matter how much of a premium you pay. qwqIt's often times a supplier mistake that, from the outward appearance, looks compliant to QC standards. Case in point, currently the 16 Traverse, Enclave and Acadia are facing a stop sale due to a bad batch of window motors that GM received from a supplier, they checked out on the QC checks but it wasn't until continuous use, such as driving in a rain storm for 30+ minutes, that the over heating issue was found. But with your thinking, I guess they could just charge a premium and run every single wiper motor on a 24hr test....
  5. Rocky Ridge & Callaway seem to be pulling it off just fine.... http://www.callawaycars.com/home/cars/callaway-c19-sporttruck/rocky-ridge-callaway-special-edition-silverado/
  6. I honestly don't get why people get so bent out of shape by recalls... they're a good thing. It means the manufacture is catching and issue and fixing it for free. Ever bought a product, used it for a few days or weeks, had it fail and just had to toss it in the trash? Would you rather that be the case with your truck? As long as vehicles are designed and built by humans, issues will pop up, I take comfort in the fact that a manufacture is willing to correct something before it becomes an issue for me.
  7. Where did you get these? What do you mean "OEM built"? I'm not aware of any manufacture that ships this kind of lighting from the factory on a new vehicle?
  8. These are the exact lights that I purchased. You can find similar sets on ebay for a couple bucks less. I think I paid around $25 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-6-3-inches-Off-Road-18W-CREE-LED-Fog-Lamp-Work-Light-Bar-SUV-4x4-Jeep-4WD-DRL-/171735291054?hash=item27fc3894ae
  9. Basically there are two harnesses, one for each tail light. I tapped in the passenger side right where it passes over where I mounted the light pod and on the drivers side I tapped in right where the harness leaves the rear distribution block, again, right over where the light is mounted.
  10. I just tapped the harness right above where the lights are mounted so that they only come on in reverse or when you hit the unlock button at night.
  11. Thanks! I just used the mounting hardware that came with them and an M8x1.25 tap with the appropriate drill bit to mount them and since I lease my trucks I just vampire tapped them. No additional switches at this time. I'll have to look up who I bought them off of when I get home.
  12. This is through the tint on the front drivers window. I drilled and tapped the hitch for a mount and tapped into the factory backup lights for power.
  13. If you dont tow anything you could mount them there but they will be in the way of safety chains.
  14. Thanks! I'll grab some more tomorrow. I do have a backup camera and even without it I would've done this in a heartbeat. With tinted windows it's still better than stock with no tint when looking out the side mirrors. Best part is you can't even see the lights until you get pretty far back or pretty low.
  15. Little lights with a lot of output...
  16. The bars I added are for increased lighting in the rear when hooking up and loading my trailer as well as just backing up the driveway at night now that the windows are tinted. They've greatly increased visibility, both in the mirrors and with the backup cam.
  17. Picked up the truck from the tint shop and installed two low profile 7" LED bars in the rear. Pics to come tomorrow...
  18. Dropped it off for tint. Picking it up tomorrow. Going through withdrawal...
  19. That direction kicks more dust and dirt through the vents. The way mine are on cut down on it quite a lot.
  20. It was the weight of the new wheel and tire as well as the increased width and rolling resistance. While offset may change aerodynamics slightly, you'll never see a real measurable difference on our trucks. Thats the only effect offset would have on mileage, its simply where the wheel and tire are located in the wheel well relative to the mounting flange.
  21. 17" Method NV's with a 0 offset wrapped in 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs.
  22. What are the plans for mounting the winch?
  23. Whats up with the air dam? How did you make the lower finishing piece? Is it just a cut down stock piece? I never noticed that on your truck before...
  24. Thanks! Everyone that see's the truck in person think it's a leveled 2500 at first glance. Next time (probably another 2-3yr's until I get a 6.2, I work for GM) I'll probably go with one of the prerunner style suspension systems with full coilovers and adjust it up (around 3.5") to use 35's while keeping that low COG look while gaining some ride and travel over what I have now. I love the way this truck performs but you always end up wanting to go bigger the next time around...
