  1. Probably not the right place, but I have a complete RX 350 retrofit kit for sale. Morimoto HID kit, RX 350 projectors (with upgraded lenses), and Sierra bracket.
  2. I wanted to share my experience with this user (Denali62) so somebody else does not end up in the same position I am in.

I purchased this intake on 11/28/17. It was shipped on 12/1/17. I received it on 12/4/17. It arrived in fair to poor condition. The air filter was extremely dirty and many of the pleats were bent. Several of the smaller parts (Seal, hose clamps, screws, coupling, hoses, etc.) were missing. I contacted him on 12/4/17. He said that he probably had the parts and would send them. On 12/5/17 he said he had the parts ready to ship.

Fast forward to 12/11/17. I had not heard from him. I reached out to him again with no response. On 12/15/17 I emailed his personal email address and asked if the parts were shipped. He said yes, but could not provide a tracking number.

On 12/20/17 I texted him to ask him for a full refund or to cover the cost to purchase the parts from AFE.

As it stands now I have not heard from him since 12/15/17 and have not received the parts.

    Buyer beware on this user.

  3. I did a RX 350 retrofit on my 2015 Sierra. It went well except for sealing the headlight back. I have since bought 2016 LED headlights. I would highly recommend a full HID projector retrofit over the 2016 LED headlights so far. The HID projectors seem to be brighter and wider. I have RX 350 projectors, The Retrofit Source 35w HID kit, and Sierra adapters for sale if anyone is interested. 2016 LED headlight on top - RX 350 projector on the bottom IMG_4565.HEIC
  4. Are 23506753 and 23506752 the correct part numbers?
  5. Has anybody purchased used insurance grade headlights? I'm not sure what the "insurance grade" means. Thank you.
  6. Has anybody had any luck buying headlights that were already retrofitted from a vendor? Thank you
  7. Thanks guys. That is helpful. Looks like they have a pretty good cutoff. Where are y'all buying them from?
  8. How do the 2016/2017 LED headlights compare to a HID retrofit?
  9. Is there a preference between factory and aftermarket for a SLT? I know that the factory has the turn signal in the upper mirror vs the side of the housing with the aftermarket mirrors. Some aftermarket mirrors offer a puddle lamp which the factory mirrors to not. Besides those are there any other differences?
  10. How much did they charge? Looks good.
  11. Thanks man. I was debating on this. I decided not to do it for the time being, but may end up doing it later. The tone is already pretty deep with the Carven Type R and no resonator or flapper. Get a nice pop when letting off the gas too.
  12. Any thoughts on this? I've been reading up on it, but it doesn't seem it is very popular. Don't want to go through the hassle of removing it to find it sounds the same as it does now.
  13. I have the Carven Type R with no resanotor or flapper valve. I do not think it is that loud. Would removing the 3rd cat help? Any benefit or drawbacks to doing that?
  14. I had the stock muffler and flapper removed and the Carven Type R installed a few months ago. I left the rest of the system stock from the resonator back. I think it has a good sound, but get the "chopper" effect and I don't think it is super loud. I am wondering what the effect would be if I had the resonator removed as well. Would it change the sound level? Would it have any affect on the "chopper" effect? Also, would dumping the exhaust instead of having it come out the side make any difference? I feel like that might make the exhaust resonate more since the sound waves would be bouncing off of the ground back to the underside of the bed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  15. I started from the right side. Drivers side. Good tip for others attempting this.
  16. Thanks for the help guys. I reread abominable z71's post and realized I may not need the capacitor link. I removed it and they came on. Overall the install was a little harder than I was expecting. The trim piece under the grill was a pain to get off. I ended up breaking the first clips on each side of the piece. I should have used a hot knife like in the video, but used a Dremel instead. It was a mess and did not end up with a very clean cut. My second mistake was not ordering straight D2S plugs. I had the 90 degree plugs and they did not allow the piece I had just cut off to mount flush. I would definitely recommend to purchase the straight D2S plugs. I also had trouble with the brackets. I had to trim the upper two mounting locations and had to cut two metal tabs off of each projector to get them to mount flush. I would probably recommend that somebody try to start with installing a HID kit with the stock projectors. If that isn't enough I would then move on to a retrofit.
  17. Hi guys, I am in the middle of this retrofit. I have the RX 340 projectors mounted, wires ran, but the headlights will not come on. The LED strips and turn signals are working. I have the relay hooked directly to the battery terminals (+ and -). The capacitor link is grounded (I sanded the spot). I have the OEM input from the passenger headlight plugged into the relay. I even reversed this connection to test for polarity. I do not have the plug from the drivers side headlight hooked to anything. I've watched the videos from FastHeadlights and Fondupot. The only difference I can find is that I am not using a straight d2s to amp adaptor and do not have the same ignitors. I think my ignitors are built into my bulb plug. I only have one cord going from the bulb to the ballast. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  18. What are the pros and cons of going in from the front vs back? I was planning on cutting the rear of the headlight. I thought it might be a little easier.
  19. Any tips for somebody doing a projector retrofit? Anything you wish you would have known when you started? I might give this a shot this weekend.
  20. Looks good. Did you bake them or use a Dremel?
  21. The 295/60/20 Toyo MT is a good size. I was looking at this tire, but it is very expensive and pretty darn heavy.
  22. You don't have to, but your speedo, MPG calculation, etc will be off. Thanks man. When I had the stock 275/55/20s on it for the few days after the level it did not look that bad. I think 275/50/20 will look fine.
  23. That should fit. Which tire?
  24. I don't think the ride is bad. I have the 2.5" Rough Country leveling kit with rear blocks. It is firmer than stock, but not bouncy. Even though the tires are E ply the ride doesn't feel harsh. Mileage has definitely decreased. I am not sure by how much yet. I had the leveling kit installed on Tuesday and the tires put on on Friday. I would estimate two MPG minimum. The biggest change I can see right now is that the engine does go in to V4 mode as soon and comes out of it sooner.
  25. I've heard the RXs are a little easier to install and provide a little better output.
