My '15 Silverado LT had the adjustable drivers headrest, this '16 SLT Sierra does not. It is fixed on the '16 but it doesnt hit my head at all, the '15 when I bought it someone had moved the headrest all the way forward and it was terrible - until I figured out how to adjust it..

There was an older post where a taller guy who like the 'flat' seat bottom complained he had no headroom when it was adjusted how he wanted it. Being a tall guy myself I thought he was crazy, but if you do level the bottom cushion with the power controls the seat is up very high so he was right. I like the back of the seat bottom lower and knees up, but I'm sure some drivers dont. We had a '14 express Ram with manual seats for a while and I felt like I was going to slide off the front of the seat every time I stopped. The seat bottom was horizontal and I hated it, there were no adjustments for the tilt of the seat bottom. But you may like that seat angle. Its a shame you had to buy the truck to figure out you dont like the seating. Myself I'm very happy with it and can spend 10 hours on the road with no problems, both my '15 with cloth and this '16 with leather feel the same to me. But not everyone is the same, I have bought cars/trucks I hated and took a huge loss bailing out after a few months. In the long run I was probably better off rather then getting annoyed every time I drove it for years. Only thing you can do is try to modify it to suit your tastes, I'm sure a quality auto upholstery shop can do whatever you want.

Yep, the copper plated stuff or stainless steel wool works if screening in not possible. Dont use regular steel wool, it will rust and stain everything around it. People also say dryer sheets keep them away, but I would think mice would love them. Could always start smoking, I read years ago that mice hate the smell of cigarette smoke.

They are most likely getting in from the cowl by the hood hinges, need to block those. Thats why putting it on recirc will keep them out of the HVAC. I bet if you pull the cabin filter out you will find where they have been living. There really isnt a whole lot for them tear up in there except for seals and the cabin air filter. Certainly dont want them migrating under the seats though. Unfortunately is not GMs problem. I'm surprised they went this far under warranty.

I went from a '15 Z71 4x4 CC with the rancho shocks to a '16 4x4 CC without Z71 and honestly I cant tell any difference ride-wise. Only thing I can feel is the Rancho/Z71 shocks used to bounce a few times when coming to a stop (like bad shocks) and the non ranchos dont. Could have been a bad shock or two with the Z71 truck, did it since it was new and kinda got used to it.

Dont fret, they screwed up the 6 speed in the 14+ trucks as well lol. I had a '15 5.3 6 speed, just bought a new '16 5.3 6speed and they both shift the same - like crap. Lazy/harsh downshifts, all kinds of low speed clunks and banging shifting. Luckily turning off grade braking makes it behave like a normal trans, shame it doesnt help the 8 speeds.

Its 12 pages, I have them but not in pdf and the.jpg files are large. Its pretty involved, stator support and pump cover, but any decent trans tech should be able to do it. If you let it sit overnight at the dealer it should act up for them. Good thing is it most likely wont damage anything long term, its just annoying..

Unless you are in a Ram Laramie the interiors are a not great. Really hasnt been updated in quite a while. SLT/Big Horn isnt bad but the Express trucks are horribly cheap inside. If it had the dual exhaust, I thnk all hemi trucks have them now, they are pretty loud inside. Some do complain of the gas pedal/floor vibrations but that never bothered me. Nothing is perfect.

I didnt say the cover caused it, maybe certain ones are better than others and its worse without a bed cover of some sort. Its hard to believe so many different bed/cab/gear ratio/tire size etc trucks are doing the same thing and GM cant figure it out. But anyhow, if you are working with a dealer to fix the issue and you take the truck to a tire store, pay to balance the tires and it fixes it they will usually reimburse you and just charge it to GM as outside labor. Not uncommon. But dont expect to come back a couple months down the road with the same problem if you claim that fixed it. FWIW I had a '12 GS Corvette that steering wheel shook pretty bad at 50mph since new. After trying to rebalance the front tires the dealer swapped another set of front wheels/tires off another new C6 that 'didnt shake' and it still did it so they moved on from the bad tire/wheel theory. After a new steering rack, brake rotors and a couple alignments I said screw the dealer and took it to a local shop that does high end car wheels and tires. They road force balanced the two fronts and it didnt have a problem after that. The dealer/GM was more than happy to pay me the 100.00 and never hear from me again.

I was thinking that with some people bed covers or some other aerodynamic factors may come into play. I can see my soft bed cover flutter badly at certain speeds in the rearview mirror. I have had other trucks do it but this one on pretty extreme, its like a flag flapping in the wind. How much of that is transmitted into the cab who knows, maybe hard covers transfer more.

Na, it just means it was a piece of crap lol. Friggin truck almost killed me twice in the rain when the engine just quit and went into limp mode getting on the highway and making a left turn. Killed the catalytic converters both times as well. Was a common complaint back in '13, they blamed it on moisture in the intercooler. IMO it was spark blowout under high load/boost. But even if it didnt do that, it had all the power of a V6 with the gas mileage of a V8. Unless you drove it like a 90 year old lady it got worse mileage than the Hemi Ram it replaced. It would do OK towing though, very diesel like. And if you look at the 1/4 mile and 0-60 they are supposedly pretty quick but mine was an absolute dog on any octane. I was able to get the dealer to buy it back less the miles I drove - I was never so happy to get rid of any car or truck I ever owned. Mike Rowe got me lol, I went for the gas mileage and it did not deliver at all. I'm sure they straightened it out by now hopefully, but I still wont even look at an ecoboost anything - a NA V8 is just fine for me in a pickup.

If you look under a new Ram you will see large rubber isolated iron weights under the cab. They didnt put them there for looks, they are to soak up vibrations at a certain frequency. Some cars have weights on the rear axle housing and near the pinion as well for the same reason. I'm lucky I guess, I had some minor vibration that started after 7000 miles at 75-80mph but after a tire rotation its gone again.

I buy a new truck every year or two after about 25K miles. I got annoyed with a duramax fiasco in '08 and swore off GM trucks. I've had an '10, '12, '14 Laramie CC 4x4 Ram and I never had any issues with them except a leaking third brake light (common, easy fix) and the '12 had a mild low speed vibration in 4wd (common, CV angle). They ride great, nice seats and can easily buy a 50K msrp Laramie for 10 grand off. Downside was the fuel mileage, sucks, especially with the 3.92 'towing' gear. The 6 speed (5 really) and 8 speed transmissions work great - unlike the A6/5.3 mess in the '15 Silverado. I also had a '13 fecalboost Ford for a few months, was able to gte a dealer to buy it back after it almost killed me and my family on a damp rainy day. Be a while before I try another Ford. Nothing is perfect, only reason I tried the Silverado was the recent discounts and it was 'new' in 2014, got a little bored with the Rams where except for the transmission and radio nothing really changed. I wont be buying another, if I was to trade today it would be on another Ram. If you tow watch the max payload on the rams, it gets pretty low on high option trucks and they dont have a HD tow option. FWIW I recently rotated the tires on my '15 Silverado and the 75-80mph vibration that appeared at 7000 miles in now gone. I'm sure it will return but at its worse it wasnt enough for me to get rid of the truck - I've had worse.

Mine has been doing the same thing since 7000 miles or so at 75-80mph. Usually its tires that cause that, when you go go around a curve the inside and outside tires move at a slightly different speed. Every once in a while it all works out and its smooth, and if the road is straight it will stay vibration-free for miles. Mine at its worse is only the jump seat/console vibrating. As long as I dont put drinks with ice in there I dont notice it much.
