I am all done with first model year runs.......The Impala from Oshawa was actually Great but now I am hitting the middle to end of model run for the discounts and build quality..... -
When cruising at 65-75 somewhere in there you can feel at times a surging as it goes from V4-V8 and back and forth.....Most of the time they are almost imperceptible other times it will ever so slightly surge......it's present, it's there it's not that big of deal to me I can cruise all the way to work in V4 and get 22+ all day long at 75.......

Hopefully they followed procedure......It's supposed to take 24 qts per GM of Dexron HP fluid on the 6.2L 8speed. I am not even going to enlighten you on what it took for me to get a Trans Flush with HP Fluid recently. Let's just it took 2 days and the difference is night and day! I still have a slight tug/harder shift on cold trans in morning that seems to be held far to long on 1-2nd but by the 3rd-4th stop sign it's gone. Maybe I will have dealer see if they can do something with that but everything else is really smooth! It definitely is adaptive because it will change shifting points depending on how you drive very quickly. Plus, it really has only been getting better now over 20K miles and it's loosening up. -

Did you check the Axles? I am pretty sure another poster has pinned it to the Axles...... -

wirechild, on 16 Jan 2017 - 7:24 PM, said: Got my axles replaced on 1/11. Still early ~150 miles, but so far very much improved. I still have a slight vibration at 45-60, very tolerable, but around 62 it completely goes away and is really smooth all the way up to 90. Need much more time/miles to see if it stays away. The guy who replaced the axles said they ones he took out looked fine to him and didn't see anything obviously wrong with him. He also insisted my problem is tires/wheels or brakes. He claims that they have fixed several of these "newer trucks with vibration by putting on after market brake pads"... I don't have much faith in that shop though but they were the only place around that could get Yukon axles and do the swap. Really don't want the truck anymore either way though. It has really caused me so much stress that I get up every morning hoping it was stolen. I will be trading it soon, tried to get a Ford Raptor this morning but was already sold. ummmm......I thought Ol Softail was 100% sure telling people it's the axles, Axle? -

Did he also mention to you that GM is not going "focus" on anything higher that 10 speed too? Please they plan on fully supporting the 8speed...... -

I doubt on Tech after the FAST LEARN Procedure goes out and drives it for 30+ miles using the ADAPTIVE DRIVE FEATURE that requires long driving distances and precise actions to DIAL IN the Clutches etc. The service advisor I talked to said, "I been doing this for 15 years and there is no such thing as adaptive transmission that the Tech is supposed to drive around it's all done on computers here in the shop" I had him print out the 8L90 Adaptive Shift Refinement and he did. No comment after I showed him what he just printed out. I then asked him what Tech is going to Drive and where would he drive for 5 miles straight without stopping between 1000rpms and 1600rpms? This is like the 6th Largest metropolitan area in USA bro! Your not going anywhere for the next 30 miles without Cars/stoplights etc every couple blocks.........Nobody here is going to follow this and most likely nobody here even knows to do this? -

Well, I can say, I am still 100% better and satisfied with the complete tranny flush on 5.3L 8speed! The shifts are pretty damn good now......except the little tug I get in the morning backing out of driveway and putting into drive is still there. Not even close to what it was before but still there and hanging onto gear and letting go in s stiffer means. I have had no clunks in thousands, thousands of miles. Not sure if these puppies are so tight but....I remember one guy posting it takes 10-20K for the looseness to set in on the 8speed. I think I am finally ready to pull the trigger on BLACKBEAR and hopefully be 100% satisfied with my EPA compliant gearbox! I am close to 20K -

So where is that "Slop" coming from is the question? That is why I questioned "MR I solved the riddle of the century" removing 18 grams off the area in question does nothing...........Let's slide those Yukons on in Mate! -

Thanks great post! Decent length, quality too! Yes, put the indicator straight up and down! It's out we can see that visually. The axles themselves are suspect the Out of Round flange in my opinion is meaningless! Semi-Float all 1500's right? The lug spacing C/L off axle shaft has to be 100% the material spinning out of round is meaningless on flange. The shafts themselves are probably sub/par......you could turn down the flange if you want only to Vibe anyway probably because the Gearing is so Large now and flexing the sub/par material of the shafts and being semi-float it's creating the Vibes. The 2500's all full float and obviously more controlled....... I would spend the money of Yukon and save your energy/time/money on turning down meaningless material..... -

Well now I am lost? I saw the quarts that he used physically put into my hand DEXRON-HP The part number on my lnvoice is for what looks to be Dex-VI? I have no clue After what I went through to get the Tranny flushed I am surprised there is was not a six speed swapped into place on it............Drove it today and it's still 100% better! At least I know I am not the only one getting jacked around...HA HA! Good luck with the dealers boys! -

Keep believing yourself and OlSoftail........If it was a single component that could easily be replaced you already would have been addressed. -

Problems is..........I just had mine flushed! 12qts were good on that I have p/n 19331925 and previous poster has p/n 19353429....? I had the dude show me the quarts because well I can't believe any of these places anymore and all it said was DEXRON-HP so I was satisfied............... I have 5.3 and previous poster has 6.2 so I assume he is rocking the 8speed 8L90? -

This is a much more obvious place of suspect? The "Shear-Mounts" The Frame is no doubt suspect #1 It's just way to stiff and resonating like a ****ing KAZOO! All Tubular now sides and connecting members from front to back? Just echo-Chamber madness read that guy who posted CHEVROLET'S write up on the new Silverado for 2014 he posted the link.......EVERYTHING IS STIFFER! EVERYTHING IS STIFFER get a half-ass axle and off goes the whole platform, how about a goofy drive shaft? Maybe some gay tires.....It should be pretty obvious now that many things are throwing these trucks into Vibe Frenzy's probably all related to the ungodly stiff, resonating architecture! Obviously every truck has the frame so no way GM could afford to replace the frames. At current production this problem probably exhibits 1% maybe 2% and in all quality control Jobs I ever was responsible for in large or small settings NOBODY does anything until 2% is a continued pattern of non-conformance. To make it worse people are not dying or being injured from this so they "GM" will manage the damage as best they can.........until next run of Body on Frame trucks/SUV'S Hopefully everybody can shoot enough ideas around so when it comes your turn in the bouncy seat you will Know where to go looking for your golden egg or maybe two? -

There you have folks.....Do NOT take your under warranty 40K+ pickem truck that vibrates to the dealer! Yup, just like OL Softail has stated about myself "Not providing anything useful" now, there is some useful information he proclaims... You got her all figured out bud....I will take my GMC to your garage when it starts to Vibrate, Ok? -

Never questioned or commented about your astute 30yr Machinist Prowess sorry If I offended ya bud! It's just that I could care less about 18 grams on this hub vs the other and most likely any GM Engineer wouldn't really care either other than acknowledging that a little more than acceptable. So you have bad axles? Wow, I am sure many do and most likely the cause of many peoples griefs.....I am sure GM knows this which is why most axles are inherently going to be off/flex and so forth considering the length to hub and stresses from Gearing/Rims......Not rocket science stuff here folks! Yup they be flexing hence the 3lbs of weights everywhere GM can place those strips of weights and welded/tacked on too I have seen. You proclaimed that you signed the "Treaty of Versailles" Big F'N deal buy new Axles from Yukon put em in and run em? Might work for you and not the other guy because his Crappy Casted Aluminum wheel is "His" problem and "His" axles actually happen to be just fine with 8grams here and minimal flex from wheel to gear? Wow, Novel shit going on here bro! Hence is why GM has steps to go through with certain components to find the vibration causing gremlins..................And yeah if I were to remove one of the stupid 13 wheel weights on my Crappy Chrome Cladded 20" rim might cause me problems might not? Don't care cause I could strip all the weights off take to a shop have the best tire guy in AZ balance the rims and his weights would go in completely different locations than the previous balance job? More "Novel Shit going on here"...... -

Doubt it....Probably more of Diameter issue than anything. Bad axles from manufacture probably I get that they make 100,000+ a month of axles so yeah your gonna get a some bad ones........18 grams of "more material on this hub vs the other" seriously what a stool.......I have had 6lbs of cacked/hardend caliche AZ mud fused on my suspension one side vs the other and never a problem does that make sense Softail? I will go back to puffing.... -

18 grams? That's like a half ounce of "Pot" A 5,000 pound+ Truck with 1/2 ounce of pot on one side vs the other? Really, I am going to the garage to burn one because now I have officially heard it all. I can't comment any more on this sorry@ -

Well come on down to Phoenix....you can have the keys and go as fast as you like and notice how smooth it is! Don't concern yourself with the plethora of weights on each CHROME CLAD WHEEL OR THE DRIVESHAFT? BUT YEAH>>>>IT"S SMOOTH -

I know there was a TSB on that 6.2 8sp flush and refill. I have the 5.3 and I know what you mean about the neighborhood driving in the cold.........The 8l90 is supposed to come with special synthetic fluid to help the cold shifts? Yeah....right........Mine acts gay until it's 180 degrees showing.......arghhhhhhhhh -
