  1. Don't get all excited about the recall. As of now its just a software update. How that's going to help a mechanical failure makes no sense to me. Cheapest option for GM. Let people get killed before they need to start fixing the problem correctly. GM is a legit joke.
  2. I checked this morning for my own curiosity . The rapping seems to happen for about 5ish minutes. Its much louder and constant at first. After about 3-4 mins in trails off and you will hear a 1 or 2 raps randomly on and off unit its hits around 6-7 minutes.
  3. Any way you can let us know which bulletin?
  4. Does your noise go away after the truck warms up?.
  5. did your lifter noise go away after warm up? Or did it stay constant
  6. My dealer was great but GM will put a stop to the diag because they don't want to pay anymore repair time for a problem they don't plan on fixing.
  7. It will come to the same conclusion after they diagnosed mine 3 times. They will hand you a piece of paper the references a service bulletin claiming GM is aware of the problem and will notify you when there is a fix. typical GM smoke and mirrors. This same bulletin has been around for almost a year with no update.
  8. Way different then ours. Have you watched the videos? it happens dozens of times after the RPS drop and lasts a few minutes. Its raps so loud I can hear it in my kitchen while my truck warms up. I don't think we are talking about the same noise.
  9. Did you watch our videos? The loud rapping noise is what we are talking about.
  10. Sounds identical to mine. Just like mine, the noise will fade for a while after an oil change. Are you just going to ride it out until there is a fix? I don't have much faith considering the bulletin has been out for almost a year. I don't think they plan on fixing it anytime soon.
  11. bump. I've had a few people PM me with the same issue. Anyone else having a problem?
  12. your better off letting them try to fix it. that way you have more attempts at repair documented if you decide to lemon law the truck. The dealer isn't going to care that it didn't fix someone's else's truck. They are doing this fix per what GM is telling them to do.
  13. I had the same issue minus the BBB stuff. I couldn't get a call back about my case, and they would screen my calls. As soon as I called from a different number my case rep would answer. They wouldn't allow me to talk to management either. Their customer service is truly a joke.
  14. my brake system has had 3 updates since I got the truck 4 months ago. Every time they do an update the brakes feel very different.
  15. Sounds just like my situation. The dealer wanted to go further with diag on my knocking noise but GM said no. The GM customer service is a joke.
  16. wow that's some bull!. I would have been embarrassed to give the truck back to you like that. What is wrong with GM!!!!
  17. man GM is really screwing their customers. They much have a ton on lemon law cases right now.
  18. Part that sucks is with weird noises and issues the truck is worthless for a trade in. I tried to trade mine in for a tundra. As soon as they went to appraise the truck( had been sitting for a while we were looking and test driving) they heard the engine knock on cold start and told me they don't want the truck. I literally have a 45k boat anchor that is worthless. I could be dishonest and have them appraise the truck right away but why should another dealer have to suffer. As soon as someone goes to test drive it especially after sitting is going to hear motor noise.
  19. Read my thread. Trust me man it gets worse. Customer service was screening my calls and would not pick up when I called. TRASH service. Get a lawyer and go the lemon law route. If you don't they will continue to walk all over you and offer no help.
  20. my truck has had a cold start knock since new. Its now at the dealer for a misfire
  21. So now they wont fix it all? Do you have to wait until the BBB claim is over? what happens if the truck has some sort of failure that leaves it undriveable?
  22. damn that's a good deal. I shopped multiple dealers and best I could get was 515/ month on a 45k custom trail boss
  23. I know it is different state to state but I just filed for lemon law through a company that specializes it. My truck has a loud cold start knock. See the video. listen to it all the way. I had a phone consultation and since they claim there is no fix available, per CT lemon laws, I have a good case. I went to go and price a Tundra and had them look at my Silverado as a trade. They straight up told me they want nothing to do with the truck due to the engine knocking. This knock just like any other serious noise kills the value of a new truck due to no one wanting to buy it. At this point I cant even get rid of it because no one wants it. Gm's customer service was a joke. I was bounced around between advisors and would be promised call backs that I never got. I found my advisors direct extension and she started screening my calls. She wouldn't answer when I call on my cell(number they have on file). I call right after from my work phone and she picked right up. Over the last 3 months I spent over 6 hours of waiting on hold to talk to someone. Finally They told me 2 weeks ago to bring the truck in for further diag. I call the dealer and they tell me GM hasn't okayed anything yet. I call GM for 100th time and after 2 week of them trying to figure out what to do they tell me again no fix and they cant do anything for me. No concern, no care, nothing. Based on how I was treated I want nothing to do with this junk vehicle. I even asked to talk to the manager of the department and EVERYTIME I asked they were in meetings and don't take calls. How they handle this was truly embarrassing. That it was prompted me to trade the truck in, but then come to find out no one wants it.
  24. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you see spending on the attorney?
