Heated steering wheel
pgamboa replied to Dennisfiremanny's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I’ve seen 5 complete dash harnesses and each is wired differently. lol. But yes, check if Pin 41 is loaded on your X201. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You are correct in all that you have said. If you are able to explore the X201 and see if the circuit leaves that Pin 1 (Hot). The ground will most likely be there because other circuits generally splice off of it down the line. If that circuit is there, then the plug has to be somewhere. Lol. Usually, it’s not far from the plug. Here is a pic of it. I don’t recall if it is indeed Pin 1 though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yeah... there is no rhyme or reason when the plug is present or not. Also, no consistency when the plug is present, if it’s hot either. Another reason I made the video and harness to cover all scenarios. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Still working on it. I am working with another supplier and trying to get the best price possible to pass on the savings. Also, note that there are a TON of options for things like trim. So we are working on the most common type of console requests. Hoping by next week... I should have something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let me add some clarification here. 1A Auto and AM Auto Mirrors are the same exact mirrors when you order the equivalent part #s. If the mirror says “Memory” then it is the 01786 model. Any other part # from either 1A Auto or AM Auto with “Memory” in the description will be the same 01786 but may come with different caps (chrome versus black, chrome with temp sensor or black with temp sensor). Boost Auto Mirrors, while they just released power Fold, they do not support Memory. So keep that in mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok.. I will add some to this thread. Like what has been said, I have completed the FULL retrofit of adding Heated/Ventilated Seats with Seat Memory AND gaining Memory Features on my 2016 Silverado LT. Since your truck is an SLE, you don't have Seat Memory either. So let's talk about the physical installation. Super Easy - You'll need a Torx T-27 (Seat Belt Bolt)and T-50 for the Seat bolts. Jump Seat removal, you'll need 15mm Socket and a small flathead to open covers pieces. Now - with that said. LOL... IF you get Heated/Cooled (or ventilated) Seats with Seat Memory, be prepared as ALL the power adjust functions for the driver seat are routed through the Seat Memory Module. Which means, if you have power adjust driver seat now, you will lose power adjust driver when plugged in. If you passenger is manual adjust, this may be plug and play if the power/ground circuits are in the body side of the harness. I do make a Seat Memory Bypass for those that bought seats with Seat Memory and want to get them installed and regain the power adjust on the driver side. Next, there may be issues with the Airbag system. On Non-Seat Memory powered seats, there is a physical seat position sensor that is present whereas, with seat memory seats, the seat position is determined by the module. So by removing the seat, you have the potential of triggering the airbag light. I can go on and on with this if needed for the technical side of things, but you can see where this is already going. Best bet...is to find a heated/cooled seats WITHOUT seat memory (I remember hearing someone say they have these seats but not seat memory, so I know they exist). Hope this helps. If you want to read on the full retrofit, that thread was posted above

I’ve got a supplier that can get DQS Mirrors shipped to you for $1058 (+$60 to ship to Canada). They can be black textured caps or chrome. Harnesses are $285 for the set. Total $1403 USD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Those with lifted trucks, prefer to go with Amps powered as the come down versus out. I like the OEM powered steps since I’m it lifted (except for a level). I was working on a customer’s lifted truck and almost fell on my a** trying to get out. Habit to put my foot on the running board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

No issue removing them. Many have removed them in favor of amp steps when they lift their trucks. Just remember to tape up the connectors when you disconnect them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

When searching using these model #s, it turns up an eBay listing... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283020311662 After reviewing the listing, it states that the amber light can be used as a Turn Signal OR a Running Light. Many of these manufactures tie those circuits together (behind the glass). You’ll have to do some battery tests to determine how these are wired up. PM me and can send you instructions on what to do.
