OEM Off-Road Light Switch Install
pgamboa replied to TinkeringFox's topic in Modifications & Accessories
The information was found on an installation manual for the Off Road Lights itself. It specified what pins needed to be landed (like shown in the video). The “input” pin is what comes from the headlight switch and triggers the icon cluster. When that trigger is pressed, it would send an “output” trigger out to a relay. The relay is part of the ORL harness that comes when you buy the kit. It was tested on a truck by @Tinkering Fox and it worked for him. I tested it on my truck and it worked as well. So he made/released the video, I am supporting the harness build for those that want it. It also stated that this would be PnP for 2016 and later. A few 14-15 owners tried and report it didn’t work. The BCM is essentially taking that momentary ground signal, latching it in the BCM, then sending that matched signal out to the relay. The fog light works in the same manner. The issue is if the truck didn’t come with fog lights, the BCM won’t latch that momentary signal. So other means are needed to be added so it latches that signal. A latching relay in place of the BCM should work to take that momentary signal, latch it, and send down to the fuse block relay, then to the fog lights. You have the entire seat itself or just the track? If you inspect the connector that your seat plugs into and see if you have the power and ground connections. This is the driver side, but the passenger side has the same power and ground positions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ugh.... that would be it. On the bottom side cover, there is a loop/cutout in the hinge where this part of the harness goes through. Suppose to help with this issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s because the one wire is a MOST Serial Data Bus circuit which is a a high speed multimedia network technology used in the automotive industry ([emoji3]copied from Wikipedia). So this one wire between the steering wheel controls, cluster, and Radio, is responsible for that side of the communication. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What do you have now, and what are you trying to upgrade to? DL8, DL3, DPN, DQS Mirrors are all heated. Heat is activated by the rear window defrost button. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You probably seen my video on the swap on the Silverado/Sierra platform. I’m fairly certain it is the same on SUVs. Remove the cluster visor, remove the trim piece in front of the cluster, remove the cluster. Not sure which video you watched, but here is mine. I have an SUV visor and it is held on the same way. You can most certainly upgrade to DQS. Here are the pricing details for each path. DPN Mirrors: $495 - Black Textured Caps $555 - Chrome DQS Mirrors: $1058 - Black textured or Chrome, same price. Harnesses: $285 for the pair, $100 is refunded if you send me your factory harnesses Switch: $70 As you can see, the biggest cost differential is the power fold option. If you go with an aftermarket, power fold set, those range from $500-$650 depending on cap color options. Those mirrors will be from 1A Auto/AM Auto. I can send you links if you want to look at that route. GM Mirrors/Pricing, I can get from a GM Parts Supplier. Harnesses, Switch, come directly from me. Aftermarket mirrors, you would get yourself from the vendor. Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me if you need more info. This is all Plug and Play when you get everything from me as I ensure fitment on mirrors, switch, and harnesses. I value your time, so getting it right the first time is of the utmost importance to me. Nothing more I dislike than spending all that time taking door panels off only to find an issue. In order to validate your harness build, I will need to see a picture of your existing Jump Seat Harness Connector. This is the connector end that plugs up under the passenger front seat. You don’t have to remove the front seat. Take a peak underneath passenger seat. Towards the middle and towards the jump seat, you’ll see a square cutout in the carpet. Lift this flap up to expose the connector and snap some pics. I need to see the connector where the wires enter the connector. There are two versions that GM came out with for some 2014 and 2015 trucks. On 2016+, it seems they just stuck with one type. However, there are two variations here as well. Here are pics of each type. 16-Pin 23-Pin (Notice the grey latch) If you have the 23-Pin version, you’ll have to pull the jump seat out, fully extract the harness, and send it to me. I then will build off of it, and send it back to you. Thanks, Phil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you send the email to www.whiteautoandmedia.com with your VIN and those part #s for 2015 and 2015.5, they will be able confirm fitment before you purchase. You won’t be able to see physical differences until you get to later years as that’s when GM went from Red to blue for all models. 14-15 are mainly red, 16+ are blue. But confirm your VIN. Ah, yes I did. Lol. While the charging module studs and the lid mounting are the same, the latch mechanisms are different. I was able to mount it on mine but it wouldn’t latch. . I ended up giving it to a friend of mine (Tinkering fox) to see if he could mess with it. I just don’t have the time to mess with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

WTB/WTT: Black Full Length Center Console 2014-2016
pgamboa replied to Ravenkeeper's topic in Classifieds (Buy/Sell/Trade)
So you have a 2018 full center console and and want to replace it with an older year full center console? If so, why? They are the same except for minor things like removable/movable cup holder (2014-2015). One thing to note, USB hubs on older consoles don’t support CarPlay/Android Auto.
