  1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163196550523 Just to update on that, kid kicked one of them off a few months ago. So I bought another set, pulled the door panels and drilled small holes in the grill for the posts to come through and secure them better, like the factory does up front. It’s really easy to do.
  2. Yes, it can be applied directly to active rust. The company claims it’s very effective at stopping further corrosion, and that’s been my experience. The weakness is anywhere lift pads touch and edges of body mounts where the coating would naturally be thin. I do my best to keep up with those areas here in the rust belt and everything under my truck still looks more or less like new after two winters. A case is literally a lifetime supply and then some.
  3. It goes a long way for just touching up. I did buy a case because the price break was so big. Split it with a few buddies and still have 2 of the 3 cans I started with like 4 years ago.
  4. Normal. Frames are dipped, so you’ll see some excess runs and bubbles where it collects. Mine has that stuff in the same spot, so did my 2016. Since it’s just a wax coating, it very easily rubs off of the lift points. I touch mine up with the same product the factory used after service, not a big deal if you keep up with it. https://www.daubertchemical.com/store/product-list/corrosion-prevention/nox-rust-x-121b
  5. You do have to put it in relearn mode from the DIC. It’s the same process as this vid for the last gen. This is the tool I bought. There’s like 100 different listings for the same basic unit so I don’t think it matters. 2020 gm tpms relearn tool,OEC T5 Super EL-50448 Auto Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor 315MHZ and 433MHz Car Tyre Compatible for GM Series Vehicle,Tire Sensor Reset Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X477966/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xBkTEbE97T76S
  6. Yeah, I would generally prefer cloth for most uses, but the cloth seats in my 2016 aged like milk. The driver’s seat looked like a worn out couch after 25k. The 19s seem to have a better material from what I’ve seen. But so far my leather is holding up good too with no dogs and only the occasional messy kid.
  7. Naw, no gimmick. They are pretty damn nice in my Silverado. Granted, if the truck has been sitting in the sun all day, they can only do so much, but it’s still noticeable. And they make huge impact on sticky muggy nights when the sun isn’t a factor.
  8. To sell you an AT4. Actual cooled seats went away for the 2016 MY. They are vented seats now. Available LTZ/SLT and up. I would not buy $1000 worth of seats and expect it to plug and play. The BCM probably has some involvement in their operation since they are programmable with remote start.

  10. Interesting, but wonder if there’s an increased risk of water ingestion. Seems like you’re giving car wash water a much clearer path right into the intake. Other question would be, does it make any difference? Doubtful.
  11. Would you believe it’s been over 8 months and the original caulk fix is still holding?! Had 5” of rain over the past couple days, got a little nervous but all is well. As others have said, a lasting repair can be had if the person doing the work is somewhat competent. I think that’s a lot of the frustration here. And why this thread is so many pages. GM and the dealers making it way harder on themselves.
  12. Just sounds like a “we want you to pay us to install it” deal, since that notice only appears on the GM‘s own store and not any of the other vendors. Most people here have installed it themselves, including myself. I’ve never gotten anything programmed for it. Never heard of anyone else getting anything programmed for it either. I wouldn’t think much of that.
  13. GMPartsStore.com If you google the PN, 84408372...their store is the top hit with a 10% code. Best price I could find when I ordered ‘em last week. All of the light is concentrated to the bowtie, so none of the ground around it really gets lit. I never really relied on the light from the originals but if you do, this mod ain’t for you.
  14. Pretty sweet, just put mine in. Noticed that the stock lights have K2XX stickers on them. That might mean that 2014-2018 guys could use these logo ones too (if the aim is similar). Not sure if they are being sold that way or not. No nighttime pics yet, just instructions, invoice and side by side with stock on the left for anyone curious.
  15. Fronts are all stock Bose. I sound deadened the front doors to get rid of rattles and tighten things up and it sounds pretty good to me. The sub helps too. It takes some of the load off the front speakers so they don’t get all distorted from being overworked. My main problem was with the back speakers. I know they are just fill and I can tell they don’t get a lot of power, but they were shockingly bad. If you fade 100% to the rear you’ll hear what I’m talking about. I replaced one back speaker, left the other stock and turned the stereo on to get a feel for the difference and it’s substantial. The JBLs are a lot clearer and actually contribute some mid and high frequencies. Unlike the Bose that just sounded monotone. Finding an efficient replacement speaker for back there is critical though. Because as I said, they are not getting a lot of power at all. I highly doubt they are even on the Bose amp, probably just driven by the head unit.
  16. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_109CT621G/JBL-621.html Door panels are very easy to remove and put back on, I’ve had all four of mine off now to do various things. There are a lot of vids on YouTube, fronts and backs come apart the same exact way. Main sketchy part is the fake wood trim pieces. The clips are REALLY tight, and the trim has a little “tongue” that goes into the armrest so you can’t just rip them straight off. Crutchfield does send you a PDF with color photographic instructions too. Don’t want to sound like a shill for them because I’ve never bought anything else from them and probably won’t again anytime soon. But it was a good experience and a good deal.
  17. Replaced the GE clock radio sounding speakers in the back and did some sound deadening while things were apart. I could forgive the relative lack of volume from the stock ones, but not the total lack of any high range sound and lack of clarity. With the Kicker sub back there, I really wanted some speakers with proper tweeters to make it sound a little brighter. Bought these JBLs from Crutchfield for $59.99, w/ free harness adapters, free speaker mounts and free shipping. Seemed like a no brainer to give it a try. They are one of the more sensitive aftermarket speakers I found at a reasonable cost, and they sound a hell of a lot better and clearer than the Bose!!!
  18. Just the regular cab. They reused the K2’s third brake light.
  19. The one right above your post is the GM one. I have it.
  20. Installed Bilstein 5100s in the rear. Easy job, just need a 21mm socket, ratchet, torque wrench and a 21mm wrench. Didn’t have one so I subbed the 21mm wrench for 13/16s. Top bolt on the drivers side was a little tough to reach between the spare tire and exhaust but not impossible. Didn’t need to jack anything up, just leave the straps on the shocks and you only have to compress them by hand a little more to get the lower bolt through. Part number below for non-factory lifted 2019+. Immediately noticed a difference while taking the truck over some broken down railroad crossing. Rear end no longer wants to bounce sideways, even with the stiff NHT suspension and 22s. Good bang for the buck, plus one of my original shocks already had an oily film on it like she may have been letting go. I guess 14k miles is nearing the end of life for cheap GM shocks. ?
  21. I have the Bak Revolver X4. Hard roll up seemed to be the option for me. I like the roll up, easier than folding my old MX4 panels. And being hard, it actually gives some modicum of security over a soft cover than can get defeated by a knife or by stomping on it.
  22. I’ve seen at least one person here do it. Obviously only the buttons you have on the old wheel will work on the new. No radio or cluster controls.
  23. High Countries and AT4s already have black headliners. Although in jest, it is a good point that owners of those particular trims are a little less likely to notice a leak. Also less likely to see all the fingerprints they leave on your headliner when fixing the window. ?
