  1. I would really not be in any hurry to void my powertrain warranty modding a totally new engine design anyway. If you got that kind of money to potentially light on fire, trade the truck for a 6.2.
  2. Certainly a chance that trucks ordered with the package would come with the correct software already loaded. I understand the parts are dealer installed but maybe they at least load the correct calibration when they build the truck to save time. If anyone at GM was competent, that’s how it should be anyway...
  3. 2019 Silverado LTZ. Wondering if maybe only trucks with the power-up tailgate give that alert.
  4. I’m old enough to subconsciously connect black wheels to missing hubcaps, and black grills & bumpers to a WT. I also know that painted bumpers turn to crap pretty quick and chrome is always a safe bet to stay looking good. The nice thing is GM accommodates people of both tastes though.
  5. Plate lights are 194s, not 912s like shown in the pic above. Takes a bit of contorting to reach them but it’s not a big deal. Buy a quality brand so you don’t have to do it every year. And no need to get the brightest ones around because it looks dumb to have the whole tailgate lit up.
  6. More US made trucks leaked initially because they were the first ones built, and had the first window design. Production in MX didn’t even start until late 2018-early 2019. Nowadays they leak equally.
  7. Just a thread bump for any newcomers...keep the data coming and if you do develop a leak, change your vote!
  8. Bought some 2019 Denali take offs. Wife doesn’t know yet...but since they are the same finish as my factory 20”s, I’m going to install and see how long it takes. Might get away with one here. ??
  9. The radio controls are the paddle buttons on the back of the steering wheel, parts 7 & 8. Image is of the previous generation steering wheel but control layout is the same. Gonna take a wild guess that the holes on the back side probably aren’t even there on the base steering wheel (unless they put blank plates there).
  10. Is this an LD (old body style) 2019? The new body Elevation is supposed to already have LED taillights.
  11. Yes, the tubes with open ends collect water, mud and salt. I ran the caps 3 years on my 2016, pulled one out and looked in the tube after a few winters. Clean and dry in there, factory coating intact. When I first installed them, I put a little grease on the lip of the caps, slid them in and it’s basically sealed. To me it makes more sense to keep the junk out of the tubes in the first place rather than leave them open so the junk can get in there and dry.
  12. Thanks, just ordered them. Here’s a link for anyone looking. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333502846507
  13. The dealer is probably afraid the he won’t pick it up and then they will be stuck with an unsellable color. Unless DHL needs a Trail Boss delivery truck. I don’t think there’s any minimum order for them, but they won’t build until they have 5 orders for that color at the plant. And either way, I don’t think GM intends for people off the street to be ordering these colors, nor do they make it easy.
  14. Trans cooler line maybe? Certainly not unheard of but very unfortunate on a new truck.
  15. Well you came to the right place. This thread must be #1 on Google for Silverado window leak. Anyway, good luck and keep us posted.
  16. Been going great for me since I put it on in early October. Probably around 4k miles without any issues at all. No check engine lights, errors or other odd behavior. Truck drives and shifts better than ever.
  17. Let’s not forget the dumb skip shift feature too. Had to get into the habit of winding out 1st, lest I got forced into 4th. How’s that for fuel economy? ?? Easily defeated too though. Just never got around to it on my 96.
  18. Mines been sealant fixed since August. Worked on the first attempt and still dry today. Competence (or incompetence) of the techs doing the job probably plays a huge part. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy my window is caulked though.
  19. Wow, really? I guess I can understand why you’d be upset then. Wonder if the GMC multi-pro just doesn’t support that? But if not, why? Certainly some questions to be asked...
  20. It’s not useless at all. If you know you’re going to have your hands full, it’s great to be able to open the tailgate remotely before you get there. For the inside release button...the tailgate opens slowly so it’s nice to push the button before you get out of the truck, and by the time you get to the back of the truck to grab your gear, it’s open. Power up? Love that too, I drag a bunch of parts into the garage and can just close it up with the remote from the warm indoors. Maybe it all seems stupid until you use it. Either way, the truck dings 4 times and a message on the DIC says “tailgate open” UNTIL YOU DISMISS IT. If someone overlooks these alerts, what are more warnings gonna do?
  21. GM sure as hell wouldn’t pay for it, but I’m sure you could have Safelite or whoever do it. Still sounds like a lousy idea to me though.
  22. There was at least one 2020 HD in here. Probably 30 pages ago at this point but I distinctly remember it.
  23. It’s always the sliders. But if yours doesn’t presently leak, I wouldn’t have it pulled out and replaced because you’re just inviting new damaged parts, shoddy work, and maybe a spoiler leak in the end anyway. Not to mention denial of warranty on anything pertaining to future leaks. I know a lot of people here have had an awful experience with their window leaks/ replacement but it’s really, truly not that bad if it does happen and you have a decent dealer helping you. Is it a widespread problem? Yes. Is it the end of the world? Not really. Wasn’t for me. I’m just frustrated that GM still hasn’t really addressed it in the trucks rolling off the line now. That’s the worst of it.
  24. Gonna guess no, because I literally just got 807 today.
