Truck at the dealer before new compressor.

Well, the dealership got the compressor and installed it. Air at the vents seems nice and cold as it should be. The service manager said the repair has a two year warranty and unlimited mileage. Hopefully I don't have to use it. The dealership i went to was one where I bought my 2014 half ton silverado. In 10 years and 168k miles on the truck anything I needed done and two small recalls they were always very good to me. Not a huge dealer either. I think they treat people well because they want you to come back. I have dealt with a different dealer that was too big to care about an individual. Just my two cents.

Anyone have any info about backorder time? It's classic 4th of July hot here in ohio.

Looks like I am getting a new compressor. It's on backorder so I will let you know. Not sure how long.

Monday looks like a good day for the dealer to test an ac issue. Hopefully it all turns out good.

The thermometer has been in my wife's 2008 envoy, my sons 2016 chevy, my friends 2020 1500 silverado all showing cooler readings. It's not the guage.

I was using recirc/max air. Especially if it really hot i start out by lowering the front windows a little with regular ac the go to recirculation after a few and rolling windows up. And it does not have the newest refrigerant. It has per the info under the hood r134. Not the new r1234yf.

2024 l8t . Ac has never felt really cold even new. But lately it seems a little warmer. When it gets in the upper 80s and a little more humid it just does not keep up. And sometimes at idle it gets warm. My wife's 2008 envoy is better. My son's 2016 is colder. I have an apointment for a third try Monday the 29th at a third dealer to try and get cold ac before my warranty is out. The first two told me something about so many degrees under ambient temp blah blah blah seemed like they didn't want to mess with me. This was set at low. Max air fan speed high. 87 degrees and a little humid. .

I am close to 23 000. Love mine so far. I have had a check engine light come on and it was a little hose for emissions down by the fuel tank. Nothing to do with how the truck ran. Might have let a little fuel vapors out into the atmosphere. TAKE THAT OZONE@ Anyway i too have concerns over the allidon "branded" 10 speed. Over 183,000 of these hd trucks were sold in 2024. Si I am trying not to fret over it much.

Did you hit all the fittings in the front end with grease? Mine appeared dry.

My 24 l8t with 10 speed makes a very faint whining or whining in what I think is 5th and 6thgear. Runs great, very smooth . I only can hear it if the radio is off and I listen for it. Hopefully normal

Yeah I had a 2014 1500. It ran just under 200 all the time. Until I did the delete of the thermostat where the lines came out. I never had any trouble with it though probably because it 168k miles I had changed the fluid and filter 4 times. Still trying to decide when I am going to have the new trans serviced. 30 or 40k.

When it's cooler outside driving stop and go around town or interstate 144 is pretty much as warm as my trans gets. But when it warms up outside driving around town it goes up in the 150s and 160s. Waiting in a drive thru long enough I have seen over 170. Is this normal or am I concerned over nothing? It does cool down a little when I start moving again.
