What have you done to your K2 today?
corncob replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
This is the one I got. Probably overkill, but I've used it on my truck and at least 4 friends' vehicles since then. The headaches it saves are at least worth the price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01C4FHM1S/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Let me know if you need part numbers and I can dig them up. If you don't have a trim removal kit, I would highly recommend one for taking the bezel off and bolting the Panavise mount on. The YouTube video showing it must have used a bezel that has been on and off many times. I had a trim tool and was still wary of snapping things because it didn't come off as easy as in the vid I found. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Here's some crappy pics of my phone mount, taken with an old iPad. I tried my best to put the camera at a driving eye level. And this is from a little farther over, just so you can see the temp is the only thing that gets covered up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Super easy for the aeroskin. I did it solo, but alignment may be a little easier with two ppl. I'll see if I can take a pic of the install instructions when I get home. Here's my Panavise bracket with a RokForm mount. It works wonderfully and I have the stick-on RokForm magnet/mount on the back of my iPhone life proof case. I'll see if I can take some pictures of it with the phone mounted tonight by using my iPad [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

They don't look that far out there. But unless he's severely confused about which wheels he bought, that's gotta be right. The XD Riot only comes in -24 in the 20x10 model. Gotta go down to the 20x9 to get +18 offset. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Finally got my aeroskin put on - it had been in the garage for at least a month. Definitely a sleek, "skin tight" fit, as promised. Despite the barely there feel, I think it will offer good protection while out marauding around. I don't think it's advised to use two at the same time, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Eldorado says your current tire is 32.51" by spec. Depending on load range, it may squish down a bit more than others when measured with the truck weight, too. I would think your best bets for height with the k02 would be 275/65r20 (34.09 x 10.98") or 305/55r20 (33.23" x 12.2"). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Well first of all, I don't think BFG makes a k02 in 33x12.5x20. Somehow their official site specs Excel sheet just got changed to an unsorted PDF so it's hard to tell for sure. They do have a 34x12.5x18, but I don't think that's what you mean. Regardless, bcbz71 is spot on. You need to look at the manufacturer's spec, not just what some third party website says most 33x12.5, 275/60r20's, etc. are. There will still be some variation between specs and actual measurements under load (and variances between tread height on the edges). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The wheels look good, I'm not a fan of the tires though. It sounds like you're debating going with a larger size of Tire B based on how much room you have with Tire A. If that's the case, be aware that different manufacturers/tires will measure differently. If you want input on the tire size, post a little more detail (offset/current tire brand and size/proposed tire) all in the same post. You may have posted some of that back in the last few pages, but it's difficult to scrounge up and requires some assumptions from people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

What height are you adjusting them to? Mine were adjusted with the spike/wrench they came with and it bent the spike. So definitely some pressure there. You might call King and talk to them about it - just to make sure that's what they recommend and it's not something amiss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You've got a lot of apples to oranges variables there. Wheel width (this affects offset), different tire widths (11.7" on the 285's vs 12.5"), etc. I believe the 20x10 -12 with the 12.5" tires should stick out about an inch further than the 20x9 +1 with the 11.7" wide tires. Of course, you're relying on so many different variables that it's almost impossible to tell what's going on via pictures from someone else on the internet. Not to mention that they are slightly different picture angles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You're going to need to post links or something. What are you using to "plug in the 9", etc. Are these trucks online, in person, on a configuration mock-up page? Lifts, spacers, etc can all affect width. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I posted some of this in "what did you do" yesterday, but figured I need to throw it in here with a few more pictures so it's in the right place. Visited Discount Tire today in Santa Fe and they took pretty good care of me. I'm incredibly happy with how this turned out. 285/65r18 Cooper Discoverer STT Pros Mayhem Warrior 18x9 +18 King 2.5's @ 3" Cognito ball joint UCAs 3" readylift blocks in the back w/ rear kings I did test fit one of the STT Pro 295/70r18's that I had previously tried, but with these new +18 wheels instead of the +0 wheels I had tried before. They would have required trimming metal still - not on the fender edge but maybe an inch or so to the inside on the rear of the front wheel well. Definitely more trimming required than just the liner. I may try to measure that 295 that I still have before I return it as a comparison to the other tires measured on here. It won't be on the vehicle but it's still mounted to the rim. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the test mounting because my phone was dead [emoji1361] These STT Pros definitely have a bit of a hum to them at 80mph, which I expected despite the "super quiet for MT style" claims. Nothing I won't drown out with the radio though (or maybe an exhaust mod in the future... [emoji39]). They are my first MT or at least hybrid MT, although I've had Duratracs and BFG ATs (non KO2) before. They rubbed a bit on the rear side of the front liners on the way home - enough that if I let it go it would bend the liner up. One drilled hole and a zip tie per side and they've got plenty of clearance now. Passenger side - you can sort of see where the liner caught and started to bend up on the inside lower corner. Second pic is the driver's side for comparison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You should be fine with 305's with that offset. It will be close but the extra 1/4" clearance compared to stock wheels should help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm not sure what "supposed to sit how stock is from inside" means. It definitely won't be the same stance as stock wheels of any configuration. I don't know what your stock wheels are, but from a 20" SLT wheel (+27mm offset), a -1 will move your tire out a full inch. And if you're going for a large tire size, it may cause your tire to rub on the actually fender/wheel well edge where you have to trim metal, as opposed to just having to zip tie the liner. I'm pretty confused here, too. Not sure what oversteer has to do with rubbing on UCAs or the sway bar. Who is giving you this info? If you are considering buying tires from them, I would go somewhere else. You won't have issues rubbing with 305's if you go with the -1 offset. If you have SLT stock wheels and have a +27 offset (or similar), there's a high chance you'll rub with aluminum (or stamped steel) UCAs and 305 width. There are a lot of "OMG I'm rubbing with 305's on a 2.5" level - HELP" threads because it seems the cast steel UCAs have a bit more clearance than the stamped/Alum ones and the different UCAs aren't a common spec listed when people post their setup and claim no rubbing. So... you want it all with no compromise? Gotcha [emoji6] I would go with BFG K02s in your situation. I was basically had many of the same desires, but didn't care as much about the road noise so I went with the STT Pros. There are a lot of fans of different AT's and MT's here, but I place a good bit of important on winter performance without going to a straight snow tire. The K02's and the STT Pros stood out in my research, and I liked the look of the STT Pros despite the minor hum at higher speeds. Plus I have used the BFG's before and wanted to give the STT Pros a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Thanks man! Solid job buttering me up before asking me for something, too [emoji6] Yeah, I can definitely get some pics of the CV angles - I'll try to remember to do that tonight. I have a diff lowering kit sitting in my toolbox, too, that I need to install. As bushleaguechew posted, shaving/grinding off the metal shouldn't have a detrimental impact. I've planned on installing it regardless of whether I went 2.5 or 3". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

These may rub on your sway bar and UCAs depending on wheels and UCAs. This is exactly why I suggest he clarify his current setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

There's a lot of info in this thread about general recommendations. You're going to need to be a lot more specific to get a recommendation that is sure to fit your needs, as opposed to just general blanket statements. Are you going with the stock wheels? If not, what offset? Do you have aftermarket UCAs? If not, are your stock ones cast steel, stamped steel, or aluminum? Do you care more about minimizing road noise and better on-road performance or lean more toward maximizing your weekend off-road performance. And will you be driving in snow and ice with them? I bought the F-107N from Amazon. Make sure you install it with the blue washer - mine was off the valve and was hiding up behind the cardboard of the packaging. https://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-F-107N-Engine-Drain-Valve/dp/B003VCD7UE/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
