  1. Pin it to win it Santa !!!!!!
  2. As long as the symptoms can be repeated on demand, it should be extremely easy to find the problem. Have one person move closer to the sound every time it happens. Then repeat the sound a few hundred times in row. Stop when they have their finger on the thing that's making the sound. Marco - clunk. Marco - clunk. Stop when the person says Polo.
  3. I looked on eBay, Amazon, RockAuto, Google images, various parts fiche sites, etc. No luck. Out of curiosity, why do you need it?
  4. When I bought my '08 Burban, there was a stack of receipts in the center column. One of them was for a repair to the drivers door handle, because it would not open the door. Just over $1,000 is what the previous owner paid for the repair. They spent $11,400 on repairs in the last 2 years, and then sold it to me for just under $3,000. Good for me, bad for them I guess.
  5. Someone asked me to replace the rear main, to solve an oil leak issue. I looked it over, and discovered that the rear part of the valve covers was leaking oil down onto the bellhousing, simulating a rear main leak. What is the situation with your leak?
  6. All sloppy and... no Joe?
  7. I have seen this happen on some of my rigs from time to time. Parking on a hill exacerbates the problem. The solution is to avoid looking at the dash gauges.
  8. Once you determine what fuse is associated with the parasitic draw, then you have to start disconnecting the individual electrical items that are controlled by that circuit. So you look up all the items that are disabled when that fuse is blown, and then disconnect those items one by one, while monitoring the draw after each item is disconnected. Replacing the ignition switch is not part of the diagnostic process.
  9. This is the longest sentence I have ever seen.
  10. I installed an aftermarket remote start on an '03 Burban. The passlock security would not allow it to work properly, due to the ignition security. I bypassed the ignition security, by connecting the wires together using a resistor - then I did the relearn. Worked great. No more security issues. I also installed a hidden kill switch, which is even more effective than the passlock security.
  11. California has very strict smog laws. The rest of the planet:
  12. It took a while, but Bill Murray found a way:
  13. Remove the front drive shaft? How does this help? Also, if you have to tow a vehicle, but cant get the T-case into neutral, you can start the engine and leave the transmission in neutral. This will allow the transmission cooling system to remain functional, thus avoiding damage to the trans.
  14. Probably wont fix it, but for the price - its worth a shot. Super easy to install. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Silverado-Chevrolet-Avalanche-2003-2007-19259313/dp/B07DKCR6XP/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=26O9JRJWRVCIY&keywords=2006+Silverado+4x4+switch&qid=1640995005&replacementKeywords=4x4+switch&sprefix=2006+silverado+4x4+switc%2Caps%2C376&sr=8-1-spons&vehicle=2006-47-491------------&vehicleName=2006+Chevrolet+Silverado+1500&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFHQ1RPTFE2NUE3WUomZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA0MDg3MzcxMTBFSDRWR04yTkJBJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwNjczMzcxTUVVVzlJQlBEVllaJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  15. Just make it work man. Make it fit. Use a chain saw to cut out the walls, so that the mirrors don't hit.
  16. I have an 03 Burban. It was fine for years. After parking it for a few weeks, the battery went dead. Charged it up and disconnected the battery. Used it once, and disconnected the battery. Used it again and disconnected the battery. Used it again but left the battery connected. After a week the battery was still fine, so I figured it was good to go. A week later, the battery is dead. I beep the alarm daily when the battery is connected, so I can monitor the battery condition. So its on the charger right now. Guess I need to go back to disconnecting the battery. I suppose I could try to track down the intermittent draw, but its not a vehicle that is used regularly, so why bother. What ever your problem turns out to be, I might look at mine to see if its the same issue.
  17. Ya, your probably right. I open my hood maybe twice per week. Every time I fill my fuel tank, I fill the washer fluid, check the coolant level, check the oil, check the transmission, check the brake fluid, and sometimes the power steering fluid.
  18. My '03 has springs. My 08 has the strut. I wonder if I could put '03 springs on an '08 hood. Probably not.
  19. That's true, and I agree. If its something simple - why not fix it. But I would not waste money taking it to a shop or replace the cats or anything.
  20. Another oil smell issue, could be a cracked or disconnected PCV valve or PCV hose. They are both connected to the valve cover, and would produce a strong oil smell.
  21. $10 says he walks out of the finance office with an upgraded warranty package, gap insurance, and an upgraded roadside assistance program that also offers motel and rental car coverage. Shaving that $1,000 off the invoice only cost an extra $4,000. Those finance people are trained to SELL SELL SELL. If you buy this, then we can accommodate you on that, which overall is a fantastic way to save money and get better coverage. The only reason we are able to offer you this great discount, is because you are a new customer, and we just happen to have this one last form leftover from a promotional. This isn't even supposed to happen, but because of what is technically a clerical error, you have a great opportunity to take advantage of the additional savings.
  22. Why fix any of it? If the truck runs fine, just forget about it. Are you trying to save the environment? Trying to pass emissions? People in my area spend $2,000 to replace defective catalytic converters when the car runs fine, and emissions testing stopped being required in this state years ago.
  23. No. its not covered under the warranty. And you should not even bother checking with the dealer. What difference would it make what some random forum users say about something that has nothing to do with them? Call the dealer and give them the VIN number and mileage. Why would you ask a forum that question? Sorry, not trying to be a douche. I'm just saying that your asking the wrong people the wrong questions. Ask the people that honor the warranty. Call the dealer. No matter what we say, you still have to call the dealer to confirm, right?
