  1. Make sure they replace the radiator and oil cooler lines also. The oil cooler in the radiator will be full of metal and there is no approved method to clean them. GM will bounce the claim if those are not replaced when the engine gets changed.
  2. Get it to the dealer, There is a bulletin on that noise, probably a bad rocker arm. number is 25NA037. Don't keep driving it.
  3. AFM lifter getting ready to come apart.
  4. Its a rod bearing starting to spin. Nothing out of the ordinary.
  5. I work in a GMC Buick dealer and from what I see coming in frequently, I would stay far away from any of those 3.0 trucks. They are extremely difficult to work on requiring cab removal for most turbo, valve cover , EGR cooler repairs. The coolant control valve has been a constant source of trouble since that truck came out.The emission controls are another constant headache. Lets not forget about the transmission issues. Only you can decide if the fuel economy is worth the headaches and inconvenience. Also would not own one out of warranty.
  6. The title is not branded from GM. The coolant control valve was replaced twice, once at 35029 on 10/25/24 and again at 45264 on 5/15/25. The VIS does not state that it was a buy back. Hope this helps.
  7. What is the last 8 of the vin number?
  8. Get yourself a real scan tool like a tech 2 and go into fuel system data and see what the alcohol content is. We had alot of trouble with the alcohol composition skewed and causing lean codes. Try and reset the alcohol content and monitor the fuel trims. Usually comes right back to normal. Hope this helps. There was a bulletin on this years ago, but I just looked and GM must have deleted it.
  9. GM Vis will only show warranty repairs and build information and all RPOs and the delivering dealer.
  10. We have changed 4 engines that failed the recall so far. Another one is waiting to come in and countless other failures before this recall came out. It is tying up 3/4 of the shop with all this engine work. The other guys are busy doing valve bodies or pulling transmissions out to be overhauled. A Terrain engine that locked up is in the works and timing chains on an Acadia are being finished up now. General Motors will have no more customers to screw if they don't start building a better product and start taking care of the customers that are suffering threw another failure that GM passes off as Professional Grade. What a joke. The 3.0 liter diesels are also coming in alot with coolant usage with no external loss. We have changed two engines already and both had porous cylinder heads allowing coolant into the cylinders. That is a disaster to work on. Good job GM.
  11. Check front hub bearings.
  12. This is why I bought a 2500HD with spark plugs. You can keep those unreliable troublesome pieces of ******.
  13. I have a 2017 Sierra 2500HD gas that was made November 16 2016, we got it the following week at the dealer I work at and it sat there until I bought it September 7 2017. It still has the original AGM battery and still going strong.
  14. That's like getting burned and sticking your hand right back in the same fire. Get your money and run and don't look back.
  15. Bring it right back and see what they say. That rim may be able to sent out to a wheel reconditioner. We use a very good one at the dealer I work at. Of course make the dealer pay for it.
  16. That's false advertising if I have ever seen it! Between engines spinning bearings and kicking rods out the block to transmissions that can't even make it out of warranty, GM should be ashamed of themselves.
  17. $2.89 for 87 here on Long Island
  18. You can get the pan off on the 8 speed without dropping the exhaust if it doesn't have the start stop horse ******.The accumulator sits right at the back of the valve body and prevents you from getting the pan down..Been a line mechanic at a GMC buick dealer for 49 years and have done many, many internal wiring harnesses and valve bodies on them.. 10 speed is a different story.Exhaust must be dropped to get that pan off.
  19. Sounds like you installed a sprag backwards.
  20. Hes talking about the exhaust manifold.
  21. The three year -100,000 mile warranty is only for units bought and installed by an authorized installer, If your trans was replaced under GMPP warranty it will be warrantied until your GMPP is up.We go threw this ever week at work.If your trans grenades at 99000 miles and was replaced under your GMPP and your GMPP expires at 100,000 miles you get 1000 miles warranty. If you bought it outright and had it installed at a dealer or authorized installer then you would receive the 3 yr 100000 mile warranty.
  22. Up 14 cents a gallon in three days here on Long Island. Now 2.84 for sunoco 87.Some places are 3.09-3.14.
  23. If you still have the other key try that as it may be worn. If it works with the other key, have a dealer cut a new key from the vin number and key code lookup. If they use the old key to just make another key it may not work as the machine follows the key cuts.
  24. Hollander interchange book
