  1. I hope these load correctly. Document ID 721284.htm Document ID 792612.htm
  2. Document ID 514405.htm
  3. Everyone made had this issue. We are changing them like crazy and are having a hard time getting them.
  4. Make sure the fuel tank pressure sensor is reading correctly.Get a good scan tool that can command evap control functions and read live data and see what it is reading with the gas cap on and off and when commanding evap purge seal test.We change these sensors all the time.Pretty common failure.
  5. Trans needs line pressure from a running engine to get out of park now. There is a tool that goes on the manual shift shaft and allows you to get it out of park. Even when it is in neutral the Ebrake is applied. What a pain in the ass. Need GDS and battery power to command the Ebrakes off so it will roll.Tow truck guys are destroying these trucks when they tow them in. Dragging them on and off the flat beds.Another great idea from GM.
  6. Cut it off with a die grinder and keep it to give to the dealer. Insist that the transfer case output seal be replaced and the yoke inspected for any nicks or gouges from that ring bouncing around on it.
  7. Those tires are junk and should be replaced as soon as possible.
  8. I work at a GMC Buick dealer and we are seeing these failures alot. All spun bearings on the 6.2 engines and no parts or engines available. Just had a 23 yukon towed in yesterday with 9300 miles on it. Locked up solid. Absolute nightmare,We are replacing another 6.2 that was ordered 8/22/23 and it just showed up tuesday! The lift next to that one is tied up with yet another collapsed lifter job.GM better get there ****** together soon.
  9. That truck does not have an egr valve if its the truck in your profile description. It should pass with the evap monitor not ready.
  10. Just be glad your not the poor bastard that has to change it. Takes two men and a small boy to lift that damn thing out of the engine compartment. Three cooling fans and shrouding also. Your not changing anything on that engine on the side of the road in an emergency.Warranty time is 5.7 plus the ac recover and recharge for 1.2.I'll keep my spark plugs thanks.
  11. They are hard lines from trans to about the front of the engine then have crimped rubber sections to allow all the bends necessary to go to the cooler fittings. Those trucks are murder to do anything on. Can barely see them from the top of engine compartment. You should see what we go threw to change an engine in one of these .
  12. Follow the path of the cooler lines and make sure they are not restricted or kinked in any way.Don't keep driving it with the temps that high. Fluid will degrade and loose all the additives and lubrication properties put in it to protect the transmission. Just check it yourself and stop dealing with that crappy dealer.
  13. Well it doesnt work. I have no idea how to attach something to a post . The bulletin number you should have them check is 22-NA-182, document ID number 6147440. It pertains to the problem that you are having. Hope this helps.257 is much too high.
  14. 22na182 I hope that this link works for you. I am much better at fixing them than usuing a computer.
  15. I dont know where you are getting your information from. You can think what ever you want. I am trying to offer some advice to the original poster. I have been a line mechanic at a GMC Buick dealer since 1978 and may have slightly more experience then you do in these trucks. The high pressure pump can and does leak externally and also internally. The original poster already said no fuel in the oil so what does that tell you.Not a big deal to remove the intake and investigate before he has a fire and doesnt have to worry about a fuel smell.
  16. The long crank times are a clue. The pump is leaking externally and going , down the side of the bell housing . The smell of raw fuel in the cabin is a giveaway. Put your scanner in live data mode and watch the desired fuel rail pressure and actual fuel rail pressures. Turn the engine off and see how fast the rail pressure drops off. It should stay close to running pressure for quite a while. If it doesnt you better take the intake off and examine the pump before you have a fire.
  17. The high pressure fuel pump is a known issue on those trucks. Intake manifold has to come off to replace also must replace two- one time use fuel pipes. They will have yellow stickers on them. The sound deadening cushion is probably saturated with fuel and should be replaced also.
  18. If you suspect a clogged cat or restricted exhaust remove the front O2 sensors and road test.
  19. 7 hours labor to drop a tank and replace a fuel pump module and a retaining ring is robbery. We are a GMC dealer on Long Island and that job is 3 hours labor all day long!
