  1. I've been running a catch can on my truck since day 1. Empty it out once a week. I still had a puddle of oil in the bottom of my intake manifold when I pulled it off to bolt on the supercharger. There was still carbon build up on the back of the intake valves, not much, but some... Less than a 1/32" on some spots on the valve at most...
  2. I moved my mount to the cross brace near the brake booster. The coolant reservoir for the supercharger mounts to the secondary battery tray. I've switched to a FL400S since the filter is smaller.
  3. The dealer "replaced/fixed" it under warranty. It leaked again within a month of them working on it...So, I fixed it myself for the price of a tube of RTV/silicone. Remove the A pillar trim, grab handle, sun visor, and center upper console. Then you can pull the headliner down enough to get your hands above it. Unplug the 2 plugs, and remove the bolt that holds the ant bracket. I think its 10mm, but it might be 8mm, I don't remember. The bracket only goes on one way, so pay attention. Pull the ant out, clean the sheet metal. I took my ant apart and cleaned and dried it. I silicone the crap out of it, then reinstalled. Hasn't leaked since. I did the 3rd brake light as well, because it'll leak too. The "gasket" on both is foam. Foam gaskets WILL eventually leak. Good luck...
  4. 70.5" long, 5" diameter aluminum driveshaft from shaftmasters.com. $675+ shipping.
  5. Video's all over Youtube for door panel removal.
  6. What about the exhaust for the pump, could it be muffled in anyway?
  7. That sucks, but sure do appreciate you doing all this homework...
  8. Woohoo, alrighty! I'm doing this soon, but not looking forward to it. I'm actually a little sore today from doing all the drivetrain fluids yesterday. Crawling under and out from under multiple times made the 'ol legs and back a little sore... LOL. I was looking at the vacuum pump while I was working on the front diff fluid, and wondering how the hell I was going to get it out of there... Square peg in a round hole sums it up.
  9. Old thread, but I used the same Derale kit as you. I installed mine last week above the 2nd battery tray. Tied in the line where it comes out of the radiator and goes to the condenser. Cut that line, flared the ends, used 3/8" trans hose and some SS hose clamps. I used Swagelock SS fittings on the Derale block. Seems to be good to go. I'm using a FL1A filter, not sure its tight enough micron, though. I also bypassed/plugged the thermostat housing on the transmission, and welded a 3/8" NPT bung on the trans pan so it has a drain now. I bought the new pan and filter on Amazon, going to weld my a drain plug on my old pan for my brother to use in his Sierra. SMH at GM for not having a drain plug on their pans....
  10. Is the brass and black object on the bottom of the pump assembly, the vacuum switch/solenoid? Does it have a part number? I've been looking for a good vacuum switch/solenoid for my pump setup. I purchased a Cadillac ATS pump for under $100 on Amazon that had good reviews for our similar uses.
  11. I mounted a Derale 13005 above the secondary battery tray for a remote trans fluid filter. Also gutted and plugged the trans thermostat. Going to drop the stock pan and weld a 3/8" bung and plug this weekend.
  12. 300 Blackout, Let us know how it works out. I've heard that the aftermarket vacuum pumps can be a little loud, but who knows...
  13. Alright!!! Now let's see how much a 2019 electric pump cost at the parts counter or online...
  14. That's exactly what I was thinking of doing when I run a bypass filter.
  15. I'm planning on deleting mine soon. I have the AFM/DOD turned off with a tune. I'm planning on drilling and tapping the back of the intake plenum and using a 3/8" or 1/2" fitting plumbed directly to the brake booster like the pre 2014 5.3's... I may run a vacuum can and check valve....
  16. That's where I'm at. I have an 2015 LS, I've upgraded the steering wheel, and to an IO5 radio. I don't really care about the cluster, would just keep the small one. I just want the wheel controls to work the radio.
  17. I have a 2015 CC 5.3 with pedal # 23362231. I've had the truck programed by Black Bear, and the pedal still feels sluggish. Probably the sluggish feeling pedal of any vehicle I've ever owned. My 2014 4.3 pedal felt similar. It's been about my only complaint with the truck. Black Bear tune helped with it, and with the tranny shifting, but not as much as I had hoped for. I guess it's just the nature of the beast(our trucks).
