  1. I’m pretty sure Grumpy read this right. You are saying the oil gets better the more/longer it gets used??? That might be the most absurd thing I’ve ever read EVER in all the oil threads I’ve ever come across.
  2. That’s where I’d expect to see shit like that.
  3. The point is you took his words and twisted them to fit your narrative then you made an assumption. You’re grasping at straws to prove a point and failing miserably.
  4. No you didn’t read it right. He doesn’t day he routinely uses CRC. He said he used it 15k miles ago. He also says he uses a catch can but doesn’t say how long he’s been running it. Probably otta schedule a check up with the optometrist Grumpy.
  5. Well I can’t argue with that.
  6. If I can tolerate the heat today I’m gonna try to diagnose a squeak I got coming from the front driver side wheel area that only happens when I turn the wheel left and I’m stationary. Then I’m going to move to the back of the truck and try to fix the clunk and creaking sound coming from the leaf springs.
  7. Why not just switch to a 5w-30 and call it a day? It’s perfectly fine to run a 30 weight oil.
  8. That doesn't look like a ring and pinion
  9. 11psi on a built truck like yours is ridiculous. If you think for a second that is ok then youre nuts.
  10. They only spec 0w-20 on these trucks to obtain their unachievable fuel mileage numbers. Plenty of other models that share this motor (block) that spec 5w-30. So there is no issue running a heavier oil despite what one other person said. There is a multi page thread on here somewhere about using a heavier oil for obvious reasons and the consensus is that it won’t cause any issues. With that said I probably wouldn’t run a 40-50 weight though. No issues running 30 Same with me when I made the switch. With 0w-20 I wasn’t getting low pressure, was still seeing around 30psi hot idle. I simply made the switch because I think 0w-20 is too thin of an oil for hot TX climate.
  11. 2017 5.3L I don’t run 0w-20 oil either. No reason to run an oil that thin in the TX heat.
  12. 15psi is too low. I wouldn’t feel comfortable driving it. Hot idle mine hovers in the low 30’s and cruising I see 50+ psi.
  13. Those posts are over 5yrs old and again no proof the catch can was the culprit We won’t install something because it could freeze and cause problems. THATS AN EXCUSE BRO. Look up the definition of excuse and as I said before.... they’re not installed from the factory because they’re a maintenance part. It’s hard enough getting people to change their oil, now you’re gonna tell them there is little can in there somewhere that has to be periodically drained and possibly even more frequently in colder climates. Sorry but that makes way more sense then your EXCUSE that they may freeze
  14. Its funny to me that people will spend tons of money on pointless things for their trucks, mud tires when you never go offroad, over priced tonneau covers, led lighting, bumpers, lifts/levels, etc etc but they absolutely refuse to drop $150 on a part that has all benefits and no negatives and can provide longer engine life and consistent performance over that engine lifespan. It just baffles me
  15. First off that's a myth that you read on another forum. There is not one example anywhere of that causing the issue in question. Its now become a lame excuse by people such as yourself as to why they don't get installed from the factory
  16. It’s because it’s a maintenance item. It will fill up and need to be drained and the bulk of the people out there wouldn’t do that. Hell they probably wouldn’t even know their automobile had a catch can at all since most people don’t read their owners manuals. That’s bs
  17. You went to the dealer for this?
  18. I had to mount my RC Vertex shocks the opposite way of oem
  19. I’m 100% positive Do a Seafoam treatment
  20. The negative reviews speak for themselves. If you got an 8 speed and want a trans tune theyre one of your only options. If you have a 6 speed or don't want to tune your 8 speed then I highly recommend Diablew.
  21. The MPGs are what they are. Unless you "Gordon Lightfoot" it as you say they wont get any better. Octane wont change anything and adding an intake, exhaust and tune sure as hell wont make it better. The tune will sacrifice MPGs for performance. You want good gas mileage then put it completely back to stock and get some good highway tires like Michelin Defenders and have at it. And BlackBear sucks a fat one
  22. Love my front hitch. Its probably my 2nd favorite mod after my gears
  23. I put mine to work for a little bit.
  24. Don’t sweat it. I got a RC 7” lift and off-road quite a bit. No issues Or LSA
