  1. If you're getting into more serious off roading you need a lift
  2. Got my shocks put in. These things are cherry. I dialed down the dampening to one and it really soften things up. Even with the Super Springs I have, these made a huge difference in how harsh the ride was.
  3. Just got my Vertex shocks in. These things are badass and they are HUGE!!!! Just looking at these I think I got a winner especially after that Bilstein 5165 fiasco from the other day. My buddy came over yesterday and he has fox 2.0’s and these things dwarf those. I’d say they’re comparable to Fox Factory Race adjustable 2.5’s and about $400 less. It’s raining here today so I’m gonna put em on in the morning tomorrow.
  4. I would prefer the person that made the blanket statement do the work and provide the proof.
  5. Please post or link to said tons of articles when you get a chance. Thanks
  6. Well I went to install the new Bilsteins and the bushing sleeves they sent wont fit my hardware. The sleeves are 1/2 and the hardware is 5/8. The bushings and sleeves from my old shocks are a bigger OD than the new shocks so theres no replacing the bushings. Bilstein was no help they said they don't have a bushing that will work. Im pissed. Sending em back and getting my money back. Gonna buy the Vertexs from RC which is what I should have done in the first place
  7. Yeah Ive gone a little ham lately on new parts for the truck. Loving the gears. Not sure what these will do for the ride but they sure do look pretty Yep Where did you find the sway bar end links? I have a 2017 and Moog has nothing for my truck except the sway bar bushings. Thanks
  8. Got these in the mail today. I’ll get em installed tomorrow.
  9. Either way it’s gonna be worth the cost once you start running E85. The performance boost is well worth the cost
  10. I put a stubby antenna on mine and the radio stations got really quiet. No big deal as I listen satellite 99% of the time.
  11. Im pretty sure its all GM parts preassembled that you're just buying from someone else for an upcharge
  12. Either kit will work and they are both priced pretty similar. I have the DSX kit in my CTSV and its a quality setup. Let us know how the install goes
  13. Just ordered some Bilstein 5165's for the rear
  14. I don’t think carbon buildup was a major factor in ford addding port injection with DI. The truth is Ford doesn’t have any claims of motor issues from premature carbon buildup. I don’t care what you find on YouTube. Ford has been running DI in the F series since 09. That’s millions of trucks with millions of miles and no mass claims of any motor problems from carbon buildup. I’m sure the whole washing the valves thing is just a by product or added benefit of adding PI. Truth is having both forms of injection adds more power and fuel efficiency and that’s why they did it. I’d still run a catch can on a motor with both but that’s just me.
  15. And GM will soon follow and do the same
  16. Anybody running the Bilstein 5165’s?
  17. A homemade setup like BigBlue posted a couple pages back. If you want something name brand then I’d say the standard can from Elite Engineering
  18. I replaced my struts the other day and now I have a squeak on the driver side but it’s only when I turn the wheel left and I’m stationary
  19. Not to get off subject but mechanics are morons, well some of them anyways. The below example is why I will do every bit of work I can on my vehicle if Im able. Last week when I was going through my swapping oem coil springs from the oem strut to my new lifted struts, I thought I would hit up the local do it all auto shop. They said sure we do struts all the time and have a spring compressor and what not. "take us a half hour" they said. Dude calls me a hour later says our compressor cant compress the spring enough to put the nut on the shock rod and top spring mount. I thought hmm that's weird. I went up there and what I witnessed blew my mind. They were trying to compress the spring down to damn near a pancake so they could mount it on a COMPRESSED strut. Anybody who's ever bought shocks/struts before knows they are boxed compressed. That way they can fit in smaller boxes. When you open them and get ready to install them you usually twist the shock rod and it uncompresses and the shock extends. These idiots didn't know that and shocks/strut replacement IS A SERVICE THEY OFFER for cryin out loud. I asked the guy if he let the shock rod all the way out and he said that's as far out as it goes. I asked for a pair of his pliers and proceeded to twist the rod maybe a quarter of a turn and the rod started to extend out. Dude actually sat there and told me they weren't supposed to do that then asked me if I wanted them to try and mount the springs again free of charge. I grabbed all my stuff and high tailed it right out of there.
  20. I feel the same way but at the same time Im trying to mod to decelerate the loss of horsepower.
  21. Just use fuel line. You don't have to reuse the oem connectors
  22. It’s not because they’re not beneficial. It’s because the other 4.4 million probably don’t know what a catch can even is. I bet over a million of those truck owners have never even thrown anything in the bed. This very forum is full of people that turn their trucks into badass rock crawling mud bogging trucks and never even get em dirty. What is that about lol.
  23. Are those air compressor filters? If so great idea.
