  1. You need to figure out what boat you're getting before you do anything to the truck Is this English lol!
  2. This was funny. A second faster is no big deal lol. A 1 second lower et on a drag strip is HUGE. The amount of power it takes to go 1 second faster is big.
  3. See pic above. Its because that little gap in the gasket/seal. Not sure why its not a solid piece all the way around. I filled that gap with clear silicone and mine has been good since
  4. Installed a front hitch
  5. Its gonna sound like ass
  6. Put on a new tonneau cover swapped out the reverse and cargo lights for LEDs
  7. Just bought a Tonneau cover and some LED reverse lights and cargo lights
  8. Im not miss informed. I have a 2012 CTS-V that's heavily modded on E85 thats tuned with HP Tuners. Im well aware you can do street tunes as that's how you do the trans tunes. Stop huffing and puffing and trying to sound all badass cause youre not. There isn't nothing on the street or track with 1000rwhp that wasn't tuned on a dyno. Again with your post you've done nothing more than validated my point and done even less to prove yours. You're talking about 1000rwhp Escalades and comparing them to trucks that make less than 300rwhp. Like I said earlier the bulk of what you can do with HPT you can do with some of todays handhelds and their software. You can log, remote tune, email said tunes, change trans settings like timing, line pressures etc etc etc. I could go on and on. HPT is OVERKILL for the average truck owner looking for a little more power and better shifting, etc. Its obvious you're a tuner or think you are anyways or maybe youre an HPT salesman, I don't know. Point is youre giving out false info and trying to sell someone something they don't need.
  9. Overkill and thanks for proving my point. The only way to take advantage of HP Tuners is with a dyno and widebands to log. What percentage of Silverado owners are putting their trucks on the dyno let alone getting a custom tune done???? Maybe 5% at the most and I'd wager those guys are forced induction, heads cam trucks. A guy looking to turn off AFM or switch between an 87 & 93 octane tune or adjust for tire size doesn't need something like HP Tuner. ITS OVERKILL!!!! With most of todays handhelds you can run logs while driving or on a dyno and with the software that someone like Lew has you can adjust mapping any way you see fit.
  10. Diablewtune.com HPTuners is way over kill for these trucks. Unless you’re running forced induction or a cam etc then it’s not needed. A hand held with a custom tune from Lew will be night and day on your truck.
  11. I used my 4 wheel drive
  12. Installed my custom tune from Lew last night and holy crap what a difference!!! I had been running the canned 87 Diablo tune for a couple of weeks and thought it was pretty good over stock. I ran a log and sent it to Lew yesterday at 3:54pm. At 4:07 he sent me back his custom tune. I had to run to the store last night to get some meds for my son so I figured I'd install it real quick and run to the store. As soon as I pulled out of my alley I knew instantly it was better. Anyone on the fence about getting a Diablo tuner and a custom tune DO IT!!!! Lew is great to work with and apparently knows his shit.
  13. None whatsoever I read multiple reviews on them and watched multiple youtube vids and out of hundreds of reviews I only found 2-3 bad reviews saying they made noise I was considering bags but I have a 7" lift so the install was going to require more parts and be harder. Seemed like a lot of extra effort and cost to achieve what I was going for. The springs provide 1500# of load leveling capacity which is more than I need. Bags would be sweet for sure but I think these are a nice economical alternative
  14. Installed some SuperSprings. Was getting a lot of sag especially with my toy hauler hitched up. Even with the WDH setup right it was still more sag than I liked. Installed these and re did my WDH and now the truck is pretty much leveled. Pretty impressed with these springs. Didn't change the ride when unloaded which was my biggest concern. Highly recommend these
  15. The GVWR on these trucks is a ball park. Its simply there to classify the trucks as 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton. Tow ratings are usually conservative. You can go to youtube and watch vid after vid of people doing tests to see how much a particular truck can tow and usually its several thousand pounds over its capacity. If you go a few hundred lbs over the gvwr you're not gonna blow out your tires or snap an axle. Again I think you're over thinking it.
  16. Decided to give my exhaust tip a makeover. I bought an MBRP Installer series exhaust for my 17 Silverado about a month ago. After a month of use and a weekend driving on the beach in salty water, the tip started rusting and looking like crap. I know its a cheap exhaust but I expected a little more life out of the components. Anyways powder coating is one of my many hobbies so I figured why not. Turned out pretty good and should continue to look good for the life of the exhaust. Prior to prep Sandblasted down to bare metal Sprayed and into the oven Final product
  17. Over thinking it. You're fine I tow a KZ MXT 301 toy hauler all the time with a GVWR of 8800lbs and have no issues. I put everything possible in the trailer and usually towards the back. I'd rather pull heavy then have added weight in the truck.
  18. Ordered my Intune i3 from Diablew. Should be here Friday. Excited
  19. Its a 3.42 gear and I disagree. I think tires would help quite a bit
  20. I have a 7” lift with 35’s so any hp increase I’m probably not going to notice. Haven’t had it on long enough to notice mpg changes. Throttle response I did notice. It was instantly better. Not a huge difference but very noticeable to me. I’m getting a tuner in the next week or two which paired with the intake should make a big difference in power and drive ability
  21. I just installed the S&B on my 17 5.3 and love it. It was a toss up between that and the AFE and I decided on S&B. I liked the bigger box and the window on top.
  22. I just installed the same system. Got it for a little over $300. Love the sound and look.
  23. Super jealous of you guys. I just bought a 17 CC 4x4 with 7” lift and 35’s and my average is around 9mpg in the city and I’ve had a best of 13.4mpg on the highway. I know the lift and tires are hurting me for sure. The tires especially. It’s got some absurd mud tires on it. Probably gonna switch em out for some all terrains and that should help me gain some mpgs hopefully
