  1. I feel the same way but at the same time Im trying to mod to decelerate the loss of horsepower.
  2. Just use fuel line. You don't have to reuse the oem connectors
  3. It’s not because they’re not beneficial. It’s because the other 4.4 million probably don’t know what a catch can even is. I bet over a million of those truck owners have never even thrown anything in the bed. This very forum is full of people that turn their trucks into badass rock crawling mud bogging trucks and never even get em dirty. What is that about lol.
  4. Are those air compressor filters? If so great idea.
  5. Picked my truck up with the 4.56’s. Holy crap what a difference. The truck moves absolutely effortlessly. It’s a very odd feeling but I love it. For some reason they couldn’t get the gear ratio changed on my tuner so my speedo is way outta whack. Every time they would go to punch in 4.56 the tuner would freeze up. I noticed when I went to start my truck up to leave the shop a low battery warning popped up on the dash. I suspect that is the problem. I know these tuners get all wonky when you got a low voltage from the battery. It’s on the tender now and I’ll get the ratio dialed in in the morning. They scanned the abs code and as I suspected I got a wheel speed sensor out. I guess I’ll be replacing that soon. Should take care of my service stabilitrac error. All in all a good day
  6. Guys are collecting a few ounces maybe a little more between changes. That’s hardly enough to top off with fresh oil
  7. None. Unless that low oil indicator pops up I don’t add anything. It’s never popped up
  8. I’d say 10% is beneficial lol. It’s just common sense dude. Unfortunately I don’t have two trucks to run a test on. I have my truck and my ctsv and both have catch cans. I sleep better at night knowing I have them
  9. I asked u a question. Explain to me how you think it’s bad or not beneficial to collect blow by vapors and condensation prior to entering the intake? It’s a simple question. And there are plenty of people that still think the earth is flat Incase you haven’t been keeping up on current events. Me not being one of them
  10. If the mod in question is responsible for the issue I agree it’s dishonest. But if my power seats stop working one day and I want them fixed under warranty then that’s a different story. Catch can or tune shouldn’t be a problem. Again it’s all about your conscience. The bulk of people that have modded something and it caused an issue are going to play dumb and say it was a manufacturing issue or whatever. That’s just people’s nature. Nothing you can do about that and it’s something you shouldn’t worry about. And you’re on here advocating how bad they are which is suggestive towards people not purchasing them. You could say the same about me saying they’re beneficial. Whatever it’s a mute point. I’ll continue to run one as I think they work. A pcv system is there to remove blow by gasses. Those gasses contain oil vapor and condensation which is supposed to be sent back through the intake into the combustion chamber and burned off. It’s a proven fact that 100% of that stuff is not burned off in that process especially in a DI motor therefore producing premature carbon buildup. I don’t see how collecting a huge percentage of those vapors and condensation in a container prior to reaching the intake is a bad thing. By lowering the amount of shit going back into the motor your extending that carbon buildup. How is that bad?
  11. There is no arguing with people like you. I can see what you mean by a frozen can I guess. The can would have to be completely full of water condensation for that to happen though so I would say that’s a super rare occurrence. But I live in Tx so I don’t have to worry about that. As far as Removing it for warranty work being wrong well I disagree and so would countless others. You have a conscience about that and that’s fine. It’s no different then tuning the truck and removing the tune prior to visiting the dealer. You’re not into catch cans or modifications that’s cool. But you have no proof these things are bad for an engine when there is plenty of evidence to prove they’re beneficial. Either way no sense in arguing. You do you
  12. Over pressurization??? That's a new one. If youre worried about warranty then just remove it. It takes 5 minutes
  13. BOOM!!!!!! There it is folks. Couldn't have said it better
  14. Dude back in the day all the cans were empty. All guys did was fill it with a steel scouring pad to use as a filter. Open up a $200 catch can and they use the same thing. Youre just paying extra for them to include it in their design. These engines don't produce enough vacuum to suck up fluid from the bottom of the can. Theres tons of folks using cheap cans and collecting just as much fluid as the more expensive ones. Im not advocating someone buying a cheaper can Im just saying that the design is simple. Crankcase fumes go in one side and out the other. Its as simple as that. And don't make me out to be some **** by saying $50 isn't a lot of money. That's not what I said. But $50 is way less than $200. That's just basic math
  15. Should be picking my truck up today so I'll let ya know what I think when I get it
  16. I agree. My point was that there are cheap cans out there that provide the same function as the more expensive ones. Therefore it being so cheap doesn’t mean it’s a waste of money.
  17. Yeah I went Yukon gears. They’re the only ones that make a 4.56 for both front/rear differentials for these late model trucks.
  18. When u can get one on eBay for $50 bucks I’d hardly say it’s a waste of money. That’s cheap insurance
  19. Let me see this fitting you made. That’s a great idea. Ive done the cleaning once so far and just sprayed it in the pcv inlet on the side of the intake
  20. If only a shiny paint job would help with my gas mileage and towing ability. Oh the humanity!!!
  21. Yeah I know they have to be broken in. Everybody's procedure is different though. This is what they recommend After driving the first 15-20 miles at around 60 mph, it is best to stop and let the differential cool completely – usually about 1hr. You will do this 5 times for the first 100 miles of the breakin procedure. Maintaining a speed below 65 mph and driving conservatively for the first 500 miles is also advised. The gear oil should be changed after 500 miles. We recommend that you drive at least 500 miles before any heavy use or towing. During the first 45 miles of actual towing, only drive 10-15 miles at a time before stopping to let the differential cool.
  22. Seems like a lot of work just to get some headlights to turn off I have a Canada truck and don't mind it at all
  23. See picture above from SS502 and the "simple" logic Nitrousbird pointed out. That should be all the evidence you need.
