  1. Late to the party, but had this exact same issue. I fixed it myself in 15 minutes. Loosen all 8 bumper bolts, adjust, and while holding in place, retighten. I tightened the outermost two first, then the two center ones behind the license plate, then the the 4 center/main ones. It's 13mm and 19mm bolts/nuts i believe. Hope this helps. God bless.
  2. Hey guys. 2001 Silverado 2500HD Sounds like a bad bearing or something. 97k miles. NV4500 Hear it most prominent in 4th/5th gear but can hear faintly coasting in neutral. Also, it does the noise in every forward gear. Gets most noticeable at 40 mph + and 5th gear REALLY picks up the noise way worse than any gear. I threw it in neutral going about 50. Still heard it. And then pressed the clutch in at 50 in neutral. Still heard it. Could this be an issue with the driveshaft or something ? However, 5th gear amplifies the noise and it sounds like it is coming directly from the shifter. So I think it would have to be trans related. I’m stumped Link to video:
  3. Update: Installed new Lasfit License Plate light and have not had any issues. It was flickering. Thanks for the replies.
  4. Hey guys, Looking at getting a 6.6 gasser. 2020-2023 offer the 6L90 and 2024-2025 have the "Allison" but not Allison 10 speed. I don't have to have the latest and greatest or the fastest, just want something reliable. I had a 1500 with the 6L80 and had the typical converter issues around 100k miles. Do not want to see anything like that in the 6L90. The 10 speeds seem to have their quirks, and aren't even a true Allison, which is a disappointment. Basically, a 6 speed that has been around for years (6L90) or a newer updated trans that has not been out long enough to show reliability (10L1000). Thoughts?
  5. Thanks newdude, great information. Any idea on tail lights? I don't see a P+P harness for the HD's only the 1500's.

  7. Hey guys, Has anyone tried doing a 100% OEM conversion from the factory halogen lights to the LED's on the new 24 models? I know the LT trim can be optioned with or without them. My main concern is the wiring. I'm sure the mounting would not be an issue, just curious if its plug and play.
  8. Yes, an alignment is recommended any time new tires or suspension parts are installed, even if the tires or parts are identical to the ones being replaced.
  9. Noticed this morning my license lights and tail lights shutting on and off randomly. I unlocked the truck, lights came on, license lights flickered on and off, then tail lights went out at the same time, then both came back on and stayed on. Have the OEM LED Tail Lights and Lasfit LED License Lights. Any thoughts? Fuse issue? Grounding issue? Battery issue?
  10. Hope to see performance updates to the 5.3L and 6.2L. Chevy is usually always "sufficient" in terms of power, and seems to be reliable, but can't keep up with Ford or RAM in power. Kudos to Ford for sticking with the V8 too. Can't say the same for RAM; may be faster and better mpg than the old 5.7 HEMI but I will take a V8 over a turbo V6 or V4 any day. Hopefully GM keeps the V8 and puts some R&D to compete better with Ford V8's.
  11. Mario, ended up being the brake wear sensor that caused both noises from the videos. I took it out from behind the pad and zip-tied it. No more noise, at least that I can tell, thank God. $13 part at AutoZone. The dealer quoted me $150 to replace it...
  12. Sorry to hear that, Mario. Just got off the phone with dealer, they are trying to say its the brake pad wear sensor. I told them I didn't agree, to unplug it and reassess. Picking it up later. Will update
  13. Which video? 1 or 2, 3
  14. I would say they will replace the whole axle assembly. I had same issue and I told them I want a new axle and they installed one under warranty. Don't be afraid to tell them what you want. They make enough money off of trucks and warranties to be sticklers and lazy about repairs on a BRAND NEW truck.
  15. I thought the same thing, took it all apart and turned out to be the brake wear sensor loose and rubbing/grinding. Video 1 is a different issue being addressed at the dealer Thursday. Sensor is $13 at Autozone.
  16. Should be, taking it in Thursday
  17. Update: Top of fuel pump rotted out due to design of tank/pump and debris sit down in there.
  18. Update: Heat Shield @ transmission was loose
  19. Have a 2020 Silverado 1500 making an awful grind/whine noise while driving. Starts after warmed up. Had same issue at 28,000 miles now at 56,000 miles. 4wd does not affect noise. I believe dealer replaced front cv axle first time around but cannot find paperwork to verify. 20. I always shut the truck off when filling it up, but before shutting it off, it’s at idle of course, so around 800-1100 rpm
  21. What’s the easiest way to test all of this without pulling the bed?
  22. Hi, I have a 2008 GMC Sierra with the 5.3. I got a P0455 Evap code a while back. I can clear it but it comes back within a few days. When filling the truck up, when the pump shuts off gas spews from the canister area underneath the truck. I can usually always smell a raw fuel smell after driving from the bed area. Thanks!
  23. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 liter engine. I hear a rattle coming from the underneath of the truck only at 1000-1500 RPM’s. I checked for loose clips and stuff but I have found nothing. It doenst affect the way the truck runs just the sound. Also, the temperature doesn’t affect the rattle.
