They have had them for quite some time. MY 14 and 15 both had them.

The wi fi hotspot in my truck works pretty good for the most part. I don't have unlimited data on my phone so I need the wi fi in truck to stream off my phone. In your case if you have unlimited data on your phone you would have no need for it in your truck also.

Finally got some seat covers for my Trail Boss. Kind of a bear installing but they look pretty decent.

I don't believe that it will lock with the fob inside if your not in it.

You are correct, big surprise to me. Ordered my Trail Boss before you could build one online so I and dealer didn't realize that there was no xm without getting the convenience II package. Was standard on my 10, 12, 14 and 15. Really Po'd me for a while. Over it now, got unlimited access on my on star so I can just stream from my I phone , Pandora, amazon music, xm app, or I heart. Does kind of suck that it's not there when you thought it would be.

HI, am having issues with one of the brakes on my TB dragging/squalling. Took to dealer and they determined it was the left rear making the noise, said that there was dust on rotors/pads. They decided to change pads on back brakes as a place to start. Had them done last Thursday. Still making noise, the colder it is the louder the noise. When first starting out from setting for a short period of time if you apply slight pressure to brakes it makes it all the time. Starting to get really annoying when I take off from stop sign or parking lot and my new truck makes a god awful noise and everyone turns and stares to see where it is coming from. Called dealer the day after they replaced pads and they basically said that they were waiting on someone else having the same problem and maybe GM would issue a bulletin on what the fix is. I'm leaning toward a problem with the calipers or rotor but haven't got dealer convinced of that yet. Anyone else having any such problem?

Had a similar issue on my wife's 2007. Fob quit working, no remote start, no door locks, nothing. Changed battery still nothing. Don't know about on a 2001 but there is a receiver in truck that gets signal from the fob. Same receiver controls all functions from the fob. I had to take to dealer to find solution. Had to replace the receiver and reprogram fob and everything was back to normal. Just throwing this out as something you might want to check.

I myself and dealer also thought it was standard on the LT trim level. It was until 2019. Not sure if the infotainment center can be xm enabled, there is no app showing for it in settings or source.

Thanks, didn't know that. I was wondering what good it would do to be able to unlock the doors and not start the truck. I still agree with OP that it would be nice if truck would run until I didn't want it to. I know that in some states and jurisdiction it is illegal to leave a vehicle running unattended.

Yes the fob does have a key in it but it is only to unlock the door. There is no place to use a key to start the vehicle.

I ran into the same problem. Ordered a Trail Boss in July and never gave it any thought as my last five trucks all came with it. Well this one didn't, you have to get the convenience package II in order to get xm radio. Was pretty po'd about this cause dealer swore that it was standard on all LT's. I have since got over it. There are several options available. I have unlimited data on my wi fi through truck. you can get a xm app on your phone and Bluetooth to radio, Pandora is another one, I heart radio is another, if you are an amazon prime member amazon music is included in your membership. Several options out there, btw the xm app does charge a monthly fee.

Mine will only run 15 minutes before it shuts off. If the spare fob is left in vehicle the doors will not lock. I like to start mine from my phone app before I leave work. sucks that it only runs 15 minutes and shuts off and then you can only start it remotely one more time. Dealer says that this can not be changed, don' know if to believe him or not.

I had all of the exact same messages and lights come on last Friday when getting ready to leave work. Brakes were not working properly, drove four miles to home and parked. When I started it later the only thing on was the check engine light, brakes worked fine. Took to dealer yesterday and they called GM and they said to replace master cylinder but that parts may not be available at this time. Go figure, new truck, no parts.
