  1. I'm the same way with 2WD vs. 4WD. It doesn't snow here but you'd really appreciate it if it ever happened. I would never consider a 2WD. And having been in a situation where I needed 4L, even though it was just once, I won't consider one without 4L.
  2. I can say this: I used 4L to get over a steep curb while there was a wall a couple feet past the curb and a car was parked inches away from my rear bumper. I was concerned I wouldn't use enough gas and hit the car behind me. Or overshoot the curb and hit the wall in front of me. In the meantime, I was on dirt so 4WD traction was necessary otherwise the rear tire would just spin. Fortunately, 4L was really slow and I was able to get over the curb then get out of the awkward parking spot.
  3. April is the least humid month for a lot of areas in Florida. The condensation is because of cold and humidity at the same time. If air conditioner was run all the time, it would keep the inside fairly dry and condensation would not occur. If it's a bunch of short drives and starts, then there's a good chance condensation will happen since the air inside the cabin would be humid and the air conditioner would be off while the charging pad would still be pretty cool from the recent drive.
  4. Any chance you smell the brake burning when you park? Many years ago, I had one brake stuck.. but that was 30 years ago. You got me going outside to check.. I have 1,900 miles and I'm showing 99%. Pretty much in line wit what I'd expect since I treat my brakes like kryptonite.. I only hit it when I have to. I'm a dedicated hypermiler, I drive carefully to maximize my gas mileage. Been able to get 24 lately, not bad for an RST with a V8, but that's all highway.
  5. And not by remote start which I verified. It would be great if I could, start it up, start a coffee machine, turn it off.. well, I know it can't go over 400W though. I thought I could do that to quick charge a phone but that seems to be out. Would be convenient though.
  6. On my F-150, the remote start didn't activate the 110V plugs.. major disappointment there. It didn't work with my Silverado either. It looks like it has to be in the on position or with engine running.
  7. I'm going to try this right now...
  8. 12V is always-on. Says so in my manual. Now, I could use the keyless ignition to start the engine but I'd have to be inside the truck to push the brake.
  9. I feel the exact same way, bought it because the idea of camping in the back of the truck was appealing then I discovered the plug doesn't even work when it's off, not even if I use the keyless to start the engine either.
  10. Is there a way I could make it more mushy? I kind of like that.
  11. Not sure if I'd want a better response. The Ford F-150 had really mushy gas pedals which I got very used to then drove my friend's 707-hp Dodge Hellcat. I hit the gas pedal and the rear tires smoked for a very short period of time when I realized what I was doing. Unfortunately, the motorcycle cop was right there and I now have a $470 exhibition of speed ticket.
  12. That is the biggest reason why I don't buy newly redesigned cars within six months. Nine months should be fine.. it was the same thing with the F-150, leaking sunroofs, minor issues, etc., with the 2015 models. 2016 models were way better. Mine was built in February 2019 and I am not having any issues with the rear window but I am having issues in other areas though.
  13. On my old F-150, I was used to manually shifting down since I don't really want to use the brakes. Even if you shifted it down manually, is the engine braking effective? One thing I've noticed on my Silverado V-8 is that it seem to feel like I've shifted in neutral and am coasting which I really like. My Ford didn't do that and I didn't want to go slower while going down hill.
  14. Mine came within 2 weeks. Will make the first payment in a couple weeks from now then pay it off.
  15. Out of curiosity, how is the engine braking? The 2.7 in Ford F-150's were terrible at that and my area is a very hilly terrain. I hate to brake so I downshift a lot. That was the reason why I opted for the 5.0 V-8 when I bought my new 2016 F-150.
  16. I would not do it that way because sometimes Chevrolet offers a $1,000 cash rebate if you finance through them.. then a month later, go back to your credit union or pay it off in cash.
  17. My salesman told me that, "Just make a one month payment and then pay it off." That dealership in San Diego was really honest and upfront with everything. We couldn't agree on the price of my trade-in so they suggested CarMax and I got more from CarMax. The salesman also said there's no prepayment penalty at all. That's in California. I believe it's the law.
  18. I want to debadge the "Silverado" from the back of my truck and change it to "Cheyenne" but still have to find the correct 2019 emblem.
  19. My salesman said to make payment for one month then refinance. California law restricts prepayment penalty.
  20. NEVERMIND - my answer was the same as the other suggestions.. seems to have worked!
  21. Goodness, when I first saw the picture, I was absolutely mortified at the unpainted steel then realized it was the reflection and you were referring to the holes.
  22. Manual states slight drop in gas mileage if set on auto instead of rear wheel drive.
  23. I read that it MPG drops by one if it's kept on Auto 4x4. Not bad for it but if you have unpredictable traction, better to keep it on.
  24. People actually paid $100,000 for the little $13,999 Mazda Miata when it first came out.. supply vs. demand, don't laugh, it could happen.
  25. For some reason, fast charging is no longer working. Checked it with a fast charge adapter and it still didn't. Now I'm sure it's the cheap cables I bought. Shouldn't have ordered from Aliexpress.
