I am inclined to keep my 2019 since it hasn't changed much. I also like being able to open my rear door with the key in my pocket, was really disappointed to see that 2020 models removed it!

My old man had the 460 V-8 in his F-250. I recall being so excited over the massive 245 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. It was a majestic beast that could pull anything on God's green earth. The current V-6 in Silverado produces 285 hp and slightly less torque at 305 lb-ft. If people could pull anything on God's green earth with the 460, I'm sure the V-6 can handle a boat.

Yes, sticker's good. It's California-complaint. That's the BIGGEST mistake a California buyer can make. Before, it was just a $300 smog impact fee then the feds said it was unconstitutional so California said.. fine, no more $300 smog impact fees, it cannot be registered, period. Mexican-built GMC Sierras and Chevrolet Cheyennes (Silverados) are all California-compliant. Dealerships from out of the state expect you to know that, they are not liable for California laws.

Make sure it has California emissions. I have a Mexican-registered Cheyenne (Mexicans call Silverado that) and it does have California emissions on it, has the sticker under the hood. That was for the 5.3 engine. You should make sure it has that.. otherwise, you CANNOT register it as a new vehicle here in California.

It had only 500 miles when it first did that, it was brand new. None of the other vehicles have fishtailed. No reason for it to fishtail especially when brakes aren't being applied and it's not accelerating. No gravel on that dirt road. In fact, the first time it fishtailed on the street, there wasn't gravel on it either, just caked dried mud with ripples. The back end shuddered so violently it fishtailed. The front end didn't lose traction, just the back end and that was far more dangerous. None of the other vehicles have done that. The Silverado is the only one that can't go above 30 mph on that road. We've had the ranch for over 60, I drove the 1986 Caprice on it many times as a teenager.

The thing was I wasn't looking for an off-roading vehicle, I just wanted better handling since we do drive between 45 and 55 mph on the dirt roads at the ranch, all are well-maintained, straight, and very long. I do not turn my 4x4 on at all and even 2WD trucks can go 55 mph on it. Cars usually hit 45 to 55 on it too. The first time I encountered the fishtailing issue was on a city road that was caked in dried mud from the recent storms. It fishtailed so badly, I was at 45 degree angle when I slammed my brakes. Before that, I wasn't even accelerating or turning or braking. It was enough to really piss me off, no car, let alone a 4x4 truck, handle like that!

They already looked at it, I don't want to bother with a lawyer especially when there are better options. I would rather dump the problem on somebody else than deal with it myself. I'm aware of the aftermarket shocks, but I bought an RST thinking it'd do better on tricky terrain.

I have a 2019 with 3,700 miles. Two trips to dealership already, leaky back window and transmission issue. Rear window was fixed and the transmission still has the annoying thud which I'm used to. I bought it in April 2019, but I don't use it at the ranch anymore due to tricky rear shocks that gets it fishtailing out of control on certain ripples. I had two Ford F-150's before that, both were trouble-free and both were driven at least 30,000 miles. I usually hit 45 to 55 mph on that road with the 2016 F-150 and co-worker's 2019 RAM, cannot drive above 30 with the Silverado. I thought about replacing shocks but I decided to replace the whole thing instead.

Now, I start it remotely whilst walking towards it. Much better that way.

I'm used to it.. a jarring thud every damn cold morning. Don't even have to hit the gas when I shift from P to D. Very disappointed with it, had dealership look at it, reset the computer, changed fluid, no difference.

Doubt it, since 2020, all the Sierra sold here (in Tijuana) are Mexican-made and I've seen a few CarbonPros with nacional plates.

I once got over 30 going 55 on a very flat surface for 70 miles. I normally get around 24 going 65 to 70 though, but I employ various hypermiling techniques to accomplish that.

I have a Cheyenne RST and am based in Tijuana. Is there a way they'd let me know right away when it's available? I don't want to do the rear then the front but I haven't driven it due to handling issues. I drive about 10 miles on dirt roads every day, the other 4x4's handle it very well and I can even hit 80 km/h (50 mph), but not this Cheyenne, I was doing 50 km/h and the back end was wildly swaying back and forth. Once the front becomes available, I wanted to do it all at once.

I hope so because others got rid of it by changing shocks. The front end stayed firm to the ground though which was good. The other 4x4's I've driven, all wheels occasionally lost traction at higher speeds which is perfectly normal. The RST I have.. just the back end flailing wildly even if I wasn't accelerating or braking which made it a safety issue. That was definitely not normal and it is because of that I don't drive it anymore.

RST owners were the only ones who had that issue, not the others. That was why I asked. Mine was so bad it went sideways and I wasn't accelerating or braking. The back end had no traction and was wildly flailing back and forth. My first incident was on a regular road that was caked in mud and I nearly hit a guy on the sidewalk. That was about a year ago when we had the floods and mud came from the nearby hills. I'd have to point out that kind of ripple was not common, it has to be at the right rhythm for that to happen. I drive on the dirt road to the ranch every day and I have run into that issue quite a few times. The Cheyenne RST is not a truck I'd want to be driving on the dirt road even at 30 mph (if it is straight, smooth, with excellent visibility). I have driven all the other 4x4's much faster than that and all handled better. I don't even drive it anymore, it has been sitting there for the past six months.

Were both RST 4x4s with twin tube shocks?

I got mine back, just a caulk, and there's a storm coming in a couple days. Fingers crossed.

The first time, it was a rental car and, strangely, wasn't a GM. The difference was the first time, I wasn't going to Mexico. This time, they had loaner cars but I could not take it to Mexico. He said that he'd offer to pay for the rental so he called Enterprise, Enterprise said no GM vehicles, so I paid out of my pocket, went down to Mexico then back, then it was back in the loaner car. A Chevy Trax with only 60 miles on it. I was kind of annoyed by it.

I turned in my Cheyenne to fix the leaky back window. They were going to give me a rental car then informed me the rental car place was out of GM vehicle so I had to pay to rent a car. Is that normal?

My gas mileage has been fantastic and I can barely feel the DFM, it has to be on the highway and getting it up to speed then you can feel it kicking in slightly. I try not to move my foot at all and gas mileage has been remarkable. Very happy with the gas mileage.

Go down to Mexico and get one. I am from Tijuana. Best part is that all the GMC Sierra they had at the dealership in Tijuana came with California emissions!

I regret not taking a picture of it but I went to a car wash and put a stream of water on it, nothing leaked. Yet, it rained and a little puddle formed. I can see the drops coming in from the top of the right passenger side of the window. Black headliner and I don't see spots, don't foresee them replacing it anyway. Has to be a pretty strong rain for it to happen though.

Mine's made in the U.S. even though it's registered in Mexico. There's already a puddle under the right side seat and the leak came from the top of the window, not thru the part that rolls open. So it's definitely the seal. Not very happy about this, we don't get much rain here and I started reading abou tthis and decided to check, aha, there it is. Should have looked for it when it rained here last week as well but I didn't think much about it. So it seems to be U.S.-made trucks as well.

I'd been waiting for that. The twin tubes on the Z71 on my RST has caused me grief. Not hitting the gas or the brake, along with a certain shuddering rhythm, the back end fishtails. This is a safety issue and I no longer drive it at the ranch, it's done that three times. Unacceptable.

I don't care much for it but it seems to be random. I noticed it doesn't do that a couple minutes after starting the car. Sometimes I don't drive it for weeks and notice it takes longer for the autostop to kick in. I am assuming it needs to engine to feed the battery up. It's just a guess, I don't know. I don't drive it much anymore, probably 3,000 miles a year. It is no longer used at the ranch.
