I'm in the same boat over my 2019 Cheyenne RST 4x4. I am looking to buy a new 2021 Ford Lobo 4x4. I wish it would handle better on rough roads, I encounter a lot of that in Mexico.

I am very leery towards electronic transmissions and I don't see myself shifting it faster especially if doing it by feel. We had a Silver Spur and the GM400 which was obviously connected electronically to the column shifter. As the car got older, the waiting time to feel the click going from "P" to "D" was taking longer and longer. A few times, she'd forget and hit the gas after shifting, causing the car to thrust. Sure, it was smooth shifting it but I preferred the 1972 Kingswood where the shifter of the SAME transmission had that manual, meaty and clunky, feel to it, and I found it much easier as I didn't have to go slow to make sure I picked the right one.

That's actually a good deal considering the pick-up shortage. My 2019 RST 5.3 4x4 is worth the same as the price I bought it at... $43k. Fun to drive, suspension on the RST Z71 is a little too sporty and tricky, causing the rear end to slide. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, a solid truck.

I really don't understand the big deal over it. Mine's fine with the DFM. If the truck is on a hill or knows I'm pulling something ,it will not activate. You can barely feel it!

OP said diesel tanks.. Ford F-150 diesel doesn't come with the bigger tank. I am sure of that. My 2016 F-150 had the 36-gallon tank but I got around 20 mpg highway while my current SIlverado has achieved 28 mpg at one point (going 60 mph on a flat surface for 100 miles). I actually average at 24 mpg if I'm going 70. I had initial concerns since I am always driving to Hermosillo, Sonora, and I hate re-filling in cities before Hermosillo due to bandidos and issues with kidnapping, so I had to figure out how long the reservoir was just in case. Now, I fill up in Mexicali and try not to refuel all the way.

DEF lasts for a lot of miles. It was 8,000 kms for the Audi A7 TDi and I had no problem finding it when I didn't fill it up for around 500 kms and the damn car threatened to refuse to start until I put in DEF.

I tried it again, it looks like they changed their algorithm and it now recognizes my RST 5.3 4x4. Offered me $43,200. Not bad, that was what I bought it at last year. It has only 4,000 miles on it since I rarely drive it. Not bad. Didn't know it fluctuates though.. hmph..

Xenon or HID headlights have stronger cut-offs to avoid blinding oncoming vehicles. Halogen headlights don't need stronger cut-offs. Faux HID lights can be as bright as xenons and putting that in cars not made for xenons.. ugh, it blinds everybody instead! I suppose bright LEDs are the same as faux HID lights. I see that in rice cars a lot and.. no.. it makes you look stupid. Very stupid, in fact. Edit: I used to live in England where headlights point on the left and pissed off a lot of people in France when I realized I forgot to put the covers on my headlights. Europeans seem to be a lot more "sensitive" to bright lights than Americans though. I also recall Lincoln's 1993 Mark 8's poorly done HID lights as well!

If the Suburban held its value as well as the Silverado, I'd consider it. I don't drive much and the way it holds its value is insane compared to all the other cars out there. Even more insane was the $10k discount I got when it was a brand new first-year model. If I could get $10k off the Suburban, I might consider it.. but highly unlikely it would hold its value very well.

I came from a 2016 F-150 XLT 4x4 to a 2019 Silverado RST 4x4. Both have their pros and cons. Silverado was all-new for 2019 and I got $10k off. Unusual to see a $10k off MSRP for a first-year model! The 2019 Silverado gets much better gas mileage (with a very little power loss), I can lie down in the "short" 5.8' bed while the "short" 5.5' bed in the F-150 required me to sleep diagonally and both ends would still touch the wall since it was also much narrower inside so I had to get the long bed. Silverado seems to have more handling and reliability issues, I've gotten it repaired a few times, never had to do that with the two F-150's I owned since new. Would I jump from a 2016 F-150 XLT 4x4 to a 2019 Silverado RST 4x4 again? Yeah. If I was coming from a super-reliable 2016 Range Rover pick-up to a 2019 Silverado, probably not, but then again, there are no Range Rover pick-ups.. and, if it existed, it sure as ****** wouldn't be super-reliable.

The re-sale value.. that's the only reason why I drive either Ford or Chevy trucks. And having 4x4 takes me everywhere!

I don't buy used.. and there is no reason to when the Silverado have fantastic re-sale value. All used car dealers have bad reviews. 75% of dissatisfied customers will post a review while 75% of satisfied customers will not bother. Grain of salt.

Same here.. I guess they don't know what an RST 4x4 with a 5.3 is.

Same issue here, very annoyed by it... now, I start my truck remotely as I walk towards it. Warms up the transmission and it gets a lot smoother when I drive it away.

I'm probably in the minority but was annoyed by the vibrating seat in the Suburban since roads are not very well-maintained in Mexico and are usually missing lanes. I'll admit the red thing saved my ass though when a kid on a bicycle jumped in front of me. I suppose it works the same on the Cheyenne, my Cheyenne doesn't have that feature but I don't really miss it. It depends on the price.

Same reason why I have air conditioning. It's there whenever I need it even though I am near the beach where it's been 72 degrees for the past month. Same thing goes for the back seat of my crew cab. It's there when I need it. I've used it to bring office furniture. And I drive it around in crowded areas in Newport Beach, the short box makes it easier. Everybody's different. Not everybody has the space for two cars. It's mostly laid back folks like me who drive crew cabs. Nobody wants the double, it's ugly as ******. Dear God.

CarMax gave me a better deal the last time. I am not trading in my Silverado right now.. inventory is low and I am not seeing good deals on trucks anymore.

Those reporting worse gas mileage, did you take the bricks off of your feet before driving?

I believe it. I fill up whenever I am in Mexico.. gotta love the Pemex gasoline, no ethanol bullshit in it like California's. I get about 5 mpg better. I have gotten 28 mpg out of my truck that way, going 65 mph on a very flat surface.

They can't fib on the MSRP, that's set by the factory. What they can try to do is add in extras that you won't need or want such as interior protection. Call them before and tell them you don't want surprises. I didn't know where you were so I did a nationwide search and it's in the link.
