My First Problem Today 2020 Silverado
Mikedfw replied to ILSilverado's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
This has happened to me a few times, usually it fixes as soon as I restart the truck, but a couple times I have had to wait. I took it to the dealer, but one time had started working prior to arriving and second time worked as soon as they turned the truck came back on. Was told not anything they could do about it. Bought my dream truck, turned into a nightmare!
Mikedfw replied to vicreyes85's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
I've had tons of problems with mine ranging from infotainment issues, safety tech issues, oil leaks and worsening vibration at highway speeds to name a few. I bought this over a ram because I thought it would be more reliable, but i have reoccurring and new problems almost every day. I definitely think there are quality control issues with these trucks. I get about 17.5 mpg with about 60% highway. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
‘19 Sierra Denali suspension noise
Mikedfw replied to TomCorey's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Mine does this, but fairly rarely. It isnt frequent enough to really bother me, but wish I knew what it was. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
How am I a hypocrite? I didnt tell the other guy what works for him, he has been telling everyone that wants a crew cab and doesnt have a standard bed they are wrong. He can buy whatever he wants and needs, no one is telling him he cant. I need something different from him (as do a lot of people, this is why they offer different options) and he shouldnt be dictating what is right for anyone other than himself. You ever try fitting a rear facing car seat in the back of a double cab? I dont need the bed space, short bed is enough, I do need the interior space for my kids. When did you get to decide what is right for everyone else anyway? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

He literally is ridiculing people for not needing the longer bed and having a crew cab. People are responding harshly to him because he was being an ass about it and pulling the whole "not a real man" crap because people need room for their family and/or only need the short bed. I dont think anyone was attacking him for needing the double cab with longer bed, just saying that a lot of people dont need that. He just ignores it and tells people they are stupid. Hopefully just a troll. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

This actually started happening to me this last week ag 25k miles about, I just had my tires rotated so not sure if maybe they did something wrong there, but I'm getting a lot of shaking/vibrating that I never had before. Hoping it's just the tires. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Ok seriously did you actually read anything I said? I clearly explained that I do use the bed, that I cant use an SUV because of height/size restrictions. I dont need the longer bed because what I haul is more an issue of height. I also do have my family in the vehicle sometimes and want everyone to be comfortable. I dont want an old beater. I drive a lot and can afford a nice truck. Why would I buy something based on your needs rather than mine? It isnt an issue of trying to show off or not needing a truck. I'm not less of a real man because I have a smaller bed, I'm just smart enough to know what I actually need and will use and buy the best, most comfortable version of that for myself and my family. Nothing I have said is complicated in the least. I dont know if you just aren't reading what I'm saying or are too dense to understand it. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Or how about this: I buy a crew cab with the short bed that meets all my needs by allowing me to transport the stuff I need the bed for and my family so my kids and I can be comfortable with having more room when they are in my vehicle? I dont need to haul ply wood, I dont have dirt bikes, I dont sleep in the bed of my truck, but I do haul stuff that is too tall to fit in an SUV. I'm not wrong for using a truck the way I want to. Not sure why it is so difficult to understand that people have different needs than you and aren't under utilizing their truck for using it the way they need. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Yeah 105 here today, dont blame you. Do update down the road when you finish, bet it ends up looking really good. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

What you dont understand is that there are way more people that would like to have a truck, but need room for people than those that only haul themselves and need the extra foot and change to haul stuff. It was an untapped market for decades, but now is a cash cow and primarily what sells because it makes sense for a much larger number of people. For those that want the longer bed and using it as a "work" truck, you can order that. But also, just because people use their truck for different things than you doesnt mean they aren't using their truck like a truck. I periodically haul commercial restaurant equipment, stuff that is generally too large or tall for an SUV, but fits great in my 5.8 ft bed. So because I dont need long flat stuff and would rather be able to utilize interior space for, you know, my wife and children, that means I'm one of the "sheep" and not using my truck correctly? And personally I do prefer the proportions for the shorter bed and bigger cab, that's the crazy thing about opinions, everyone can have a different one and it doesnt make them wrong. If you're talking specifically resale value you might be right, but people aren't buying them new like that, if they were, gm wouldn't discontinue them. They make what is in demand and dont really care about the second or later owners. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Seen lots of people doing full catback exhaust on their vehicles, but curious if anyone has just found a good muffler/axleback for the 6.2 instead and which kind? I really just want better sound, dont think I would see enough performance improvement to be able to justify spending around 2k to my wife. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Ram or Gm /overall build quality
Mikedfw replied to INGMWETRUST's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I've got a 2019 sierra denali and it was in the shop 7 times in the first 3 months. Multiple recalls, lots of TSBs and I still have a lot of issues with it, but most are random or intermittent problems. I bought the gmc partially because I thought it would be more reliable than ram, but I've never had this many different problems with a new vehicle before. My f150 was crap too, but I had a lemon. In my opinion, the quality control is lacking for all 3 of the american truck makers. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
Ram or Gm /overall build quality
Mikedfw replied to INGMWETRUST's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
One of the main reasons I bought the sierra was because I expected it to be more reliable, with fewer problems than ram based on what I'd heard, however, I have had nothing but problems with my sierra. I really like the truck, but way too many issues to enjoy it. I've had to lemon law an f150 also. I really think it is just a crap shoot with american vehicles anymore. Honestly, I'd say drive them both and get which ever one you like more. I dont personally think gm is really that much better quality than ram. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -

Anyone Added Parking Sensors?
Mikedfw replied to 2024Denali's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
I'm not positive, but I believe they cant add them. In addition to replacing the bumpers where they are located, they would have to be wired to hardware in the vehicle that you dont have on that model. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
So for the 4wd I've only gone over 55 with it in auto setting in bad weather because it kept fish tailing. I've had other 4wd and awd vehicles and never had this type of sound. As for sensors you mentioned me bumping into stuff and that I wouldn't have these problems if all my driving was on road. So far outside of a couple dirt roads it's been all on roads. I have not run into anything, have not been hit by anything and wash the vehicle frequently so there is nothing that is blocking or damaging the sensors, they just go out randomly and work fine when I turn on the vehicle the next time. Some of the safety tech was fixed with a recall, but the sensors, LKA and BLIS go out sometimes for no reason. Regarding the infotainment, I've had numerous new vehicles with new infotainment systems and have experienced minor bugs with them, but never consistent issues that occur almost every day and again, seemingly at random. They probably could be fixed with updates, but it's been over a year since the vehicle came out and the problems are still there, I'm not feeling confident GM is working on or will come up with a solution. Regardless, I expect some bugs in a new model year vehicle, but not this many and not so frequent and consistently. I think spending as much as these cost, expecting it to work right isnt unreasonable. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Brake communication errors Safety equipment malfunctions including complete failures (unable to turn on at all) and random failures (sensors, blind spot monitors randomly shutting off) Oil leaks Front camera randomly flickering or failing to work at all Digital screen in gauge cluster flickering or being blank Numerous infotainment issues, including blank screens, volume stuck and unable to be adjusted, radio playing two sources simultaneously and not allowing anything to be changed, bluetooth not connecting to phone even if I have system "forget" my phone and tey to re attach it and random volume changes when I start vehicle. Service ESC notification that stayed on for a few minutes then shut off When I 4wd auto have strange whirring/whining sound anytime I accelerate, most noticeable between 50 and 70 mph Occasionally get a clunk when slowing down or stopping vehicle. Sometimes when plugging usb cable into slot on dash it will tell me my nav sd card has been removed and shut off navigation system. Issue with my seats where, aside from just being really firm and uncomfortable, have a spot where if you have your weight there, you can feel a corner to one of the mechanisms inside the seat. Total of 12 recalls and TSBs done, vehicle left at dealership 7 times for work done and have stopped in for issues with infotainment a couple times that resolved themselves after restarting the vehicle. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. I have had it since the end of November 2019. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Bizarre Stereo Issue - Anybody Else?
Mikedfw replied to rikhek's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Yeah apparently my reading comprehension was lacking when I read your post, long work day. These issues are really driving me crazy, hope all the crap they are doing works, shouldnt have to deal with this stuff in a brand new truck. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
Another day, another new problem
Mikedfw replied to Mikedfw's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
No, nothing has changed. Worked fine when I got in it this morning, outside of some random volume changes, which has always happened. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
Another day, another new problem
Mikedfw replied to Mikedfw's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Another new problem today. The truck will no longer connect to my phone via bluetooth. I tried having it forget my phone and repair, didnt work, so another trip to the dealer unless it magically fixed itself when I start it in the morning. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
Bizarre Stereo Issue - Anybody Else?
Mikedfw replied to rikhek's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
I've had it a couple of times and was the same situation, it resolved itself over night. I had made an appointment to have it looked at, but everything was working right when I got it there so they had no idea what was wrong. These infotainment systems seem pretty glitchy to me, I have constant problems. Just today mine decided it wouldn't let my phone connect with bluetooth anymore even if after I had it forget the phone. I'll be taking it in unless it magically fixes itself overnight again. I would recommend filming it though if you can, at least you can show your dealer what it is doing, maybe you'll have more luck than me. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
