    Ok seriously did you actually read anything I said? I clearly explained that I do use the bed, that I cant use an SUV because of height/size restrictions. I dont need the longer bed because what I haul is more an issue of height. I also do have my family in the vehicle sometimes and want everyone to be comfortable. I dont want an old beater. I drive a lot and can afford a nice truck. Why would I buy something based on your needs rather than mine? It isnt an issue of trying to show off or not needing a truck. I'm not less of a real man because I have a smaller bed, I'm just smart enough to know what I actually need and will use and buy the best, most comfortable version of that for myself and my family.     Or how about this: I buy a crew cab with the short bed that meets all my needs by allowing me to transport the stuff I need the bed for and my family so my kids and I can be comfortable with having more room when they are in my vehicle? I dont need to haul ply wood, I dont have dirt bikes, I dont sleep in the bed of my truck, but I do haul stuff that is too tall to fit in an SUV. I'm not wrong for using a truck the way I want to.     What you dont understand is that there are way more people that would like to have a truck, but need room for people than those that only haul themselves and need the extra foot and change to haul stuff. It was an untapped market for decades, but now is a cash cow and primarily what sells because it makes sense for a much larger number of people. For those that want the longer bed and using it as a "work" truck, you can order that. But also, just because people use their truck for different things than you doesnt mean they aren't using their truck like a truck. I periodically haul commercial restaurant equipment, stuff that is generally too large or tall for an SUV, but fits great in my 5.8 ft bed. So because I dont need long flat stuff and would rather be able to utilize interior space for, you know, my wife and children, that means I'm one of the "sheep" and not using my truck correctly? And personally I do prefer the proportions for the shorter bed and bigger cab, that's the crazy thing about opinions, everyone can have a different one and it doesnt make them wrong.     So for the 4wd I've only gone over 55 with it in auto setting in bad weather because it kept fish tailing. I've had other 4wd and awd vehicles and never had this type of sound. As for sensors you mentioned me bumping into stuff and that I wouldn't have these problems if all my driving was on road. So far outside of a couple dirt roads it's been all on roads. I have not run into anything, have not been hit by anything and wash the vehicle frequently so there is nothing that is blocking or damaging the sensors, they just go out randomly and work fine when I turn on the vehicle the next time. Some of the safety tech was fixed with a recall, but the sensors, LKA and BLIS go out sometimes for no reason. Regarding the infotainment, I've had numerous new vehicles with new infotainment systems and have experienced minor bugs with them, but never consistent issues that occur almost every day and again, seemingly at random. They probably could be fixed with updates, but it's been over a year since the vehicle came out and the problems are still there, I'm not feeling confident GM is working on or will come up with a solution. Regardless, I expect some bugs in a new model year vehicle, but not this many and not so frequent and consistently.     Brake communication errors Safety equipment malfunctions including complete failures (unable to turn on at all) and random failures (sensors, blind spot monitors randomly shutting off) Oil leaks Front camera randomly flickering or failing to work at all Digital screen in gauge cluster flickering or being blank Numerous infotainment issues, including blank screens, volume stuck and unable to be adjusted, radio playing two sources simultaneously and not allowing anything to be changed, bluetooth not connecting to phone even if I have system "forget" my phone and tey to re attach it and random volume changes when I start vehicle. Service ESC notification that stayed on for a few minutes then shut off When I 4wd auto have strange whirring/whining sound anytime I accelerate, most noticeable between 50 and 70 mph Occasionally get a clunk when slowing down or stopping vehicle. Sometimes when plugging usb cable into slot on dash it will tell me my nav sd card has been removed and shut off navigation system. Issue with my seats where, aside from just being really firm and uncomfortable, have a spot where if you have your weight there, you can feel a corner to one of the mechanisms inside the seat. Total of 12 recalls and TSBs done, vehicle left at dealership 7 times for work done and have stopped in for issues with infotainment a couple times that resolved themselves after restarting the vehicle.     Have the 6.2, no weird idle for me at all. I've occasionally had a weird clunk when stopping that is the only thing abnormal I've experienced with the drivetrain and it doesn't happen that often. As for auto stop, I hated turning it off at first, but now it's a habit, first thing I do when I start the vehicle and I dont even notice anymore its second nature, just give it time to get used to doing it.     I've had something like this happen to me, I tried restarting after a couple hours and it didnt work, made an appointment with the dealer, and then the next morning, after sitting off overnight it worked fine again. There are lots of electronic gremlins in these trucks, I would wait overnight and if it isnt working again then think you'll have to take it to dealer, you've already done what you can do without diagnostics equipment.     You are really grasping at straws. If you want me to go by your definition I would say the 6.2 is "of superior excellence" for all the reasons listed previously. You know what people mean when they say "better". You know what the OP meant. If you want me to start using synonyms here so you can feel like you're right, fine. The 6.2 is superior; of superior excellence. I'm honestly not sure if you are really this dense or just being difficult or maybe you're just trolling and I'm taking the bait.     Ok, so this post was asking to compare a 5.3 liter v8 made by gm to a 6.2 liter v8 made by gm. All these other engines are irrelevant, I'm not saying that there are no engines better than the 6.2 and I dont know where you got the idea that is what was being discussed. Again, comparing these two specific engines, power is the primary difference. 6.2 has more power, better acceleration, better passing power, better at higher altitudes (due to having more available power), basically the same towing and mileage, reliability about the same. How is it not the better engine? What differences are there between these two specific engines that makes you think the 5.3 is better than the 6.2 or at least, what makes you think that being better in this specific scenario is about anything other than power? Again, if we are talking value or comparing to a diesel engine, then you would have a point, there are other factors involved then, but these are two engines made by the same company for the same purposes, one just does everything the other can do, but with less engine strain, or faster.     Sorry that's wrong. If the 6.2 performs equal or better in every metric and fills the same purpose as the 5.3 then it is better. If it were comparing a diesel or turbo or another type of engine designed to do different things then it's different, but in this case, the 6.2 is literally an improved, larger version of the 5.3. It's like comparing an apple to a bigger, juicier apple. Its value is subjective, completely, but if you just look at the 2 engines side by side and compare them, the 6.2 is better.     You are way over complicating things. The OP was literally asking about 2 v8 engines that serve the same purpose except 1 is just bigger, more powerful, has better acceleration and passing power, comparable towing and mileage. Better isn't really subjective here. The 6.2 is better, period. When he asked if the 6.2 is worth the cost to get then that question is subjective. If he bad been comparing the 6.2 to the diesel, that would need more info, those engines are different and serve different purposes. None of the insanity in this thread should have happened. We've got philosophers, trolls, people talking about crystals, I think I've seen some jokes (or maybe not joking) about people compensating for their body parts and people that cant seem to agree on the definition of the word "better".     Yeah I've never had so many different little problems so consistently with any vehicle I've ever owned as I do this one. Was originally planning on keeping it for a long time, doubt I will anymore, just getting tired of there always being something malfunctioning even if I really want to love this truck.     I average 18-18.5 on my 6.2 denali, the at4 gets about 1 mpg less. My driving is mixed with probably 60% highway. I do have a heavyish foot. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
