  1. I need some help. I have a 2019 silverado LD Custom and I was spraying some aerosol EXIDE battery contact protectant (1 oz can) and I accidentally dropped it in the engine. It’s actually stuck inside the engine compartment but behind the wheel well. I got under the truck, I can’t see it. I removed the wheel well liner, I can’t get to it. It’s on the other side of the metal divider. I tried a telescoping tool and a magnetic tool. I admit defeat. I can’t get it out. What if the can explodes, will it kill me? It’s only a 1 oz can, but it’s flammable and under pressure. It says it may explode at 120 degrees, I’m in Georgia and it’s July…it will get to that temperature pretty quick inside the engine bay. I’m afraid the dealer will have trouble getting to it without completely tearing it apart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I have this problem, and I’ve come to the realization that these trucks are trash. I have 23,000 miles on my 2019 silverado LD and I’ve had SEVERAL issues, i.e. emergency brake light, water pump failed at 15k, squeaky brakes (2 dealers said the sound was normal, Lol), and now the clunking under the bed just started when doing slow parking lot or driveway maneuvers. Maybe it’s the leaf springs? It happens while turning the wheel over little bumps in my driveway. It’s loud enough, but I’m afraid the dealer will tell me it’s normal again. 3 year warranty just expired. Here’s a question - if I trade in my truck will they ding my trade-in price since it has so many noises? I would think not since GM said these sounds are “normal” but we all know sales and service are different animals. I’m wondering if I should demand a letter in writing from the dealer that says these noises are normal? I could never sell it to a private buyer like this…wouldn’t make it out of the driveway before they’d hear the clunking sound and squeaky brakes. Also it’s an asphalt princess. I have not abused it or modified anything.
  3. I have a 2019 Silverado Legacy 1500 model. Mine has the creaking brake sound coming from the rear brakes whilst depressing the brake pedal on & off while in park or at very low speeds, etc. I took mine to the dealer in 2022, and they said “Oh that sound, that happens on all of the Silverados, it’s normal.” They did say they would go ahead and clean/lube up the rear brakes for me. When I got the truck back the sound was still there - so that did absolutely nothing. I’ve decided to just live with it since it’s not dangerous. However, there is no reason a $50k truck should sound like this. When people ride with me they think my brakes are shot out.
  4. UPDATE: I took mine to the dealer yesterday and the sound was coming from the water pump. They replaced the entire water pump assembly under warranty in about 3 hours. Today it is running perfectly silent - no noise at all (knock on wood). The sound on mine was intermittent, but yesterday when I arrived at the dealer the water pump pulley was visually wobbling and making more noise than ever. They couldn’t say “no defect found.” So I got lucky that it was making noise when I took it in. Not sure this helps you. But if the sound continues to get worse it might be worth having someone take a look at it.
  5. Any idea what this could be? To me it sounds like a squeaking combined with something vibrating...to me it seems like the sound is coming from the pulleys/belts etc. It is a distinct sound so I just thought maybe someone has experienced this before? the truck is a 2019 Silverado LD 1500 V8 5.3L and it only has 15k miles. 6. Yea, I hear ya. I’m just afraid that may introduce more issues if they fix it. I went over the entire vehicle, but not with the service advisor unfortunately. It looks like that piece is just a plastic trim piece around the headlight. It must be somewhat malleable.
  7. I took my truck to a dealer for an oil change. I got it back and noticed that the top corner of the headlamp area is caved in (see pic). There is about a 1/8” gap... So guess where you’re hip would be touching the vehicle if you were unscrewing the oil cap?? Ding, ding, ding, yes as a 6 foot person my hip would be touching that area of the headlight if I had to unscrew the oil cap. So what happened did he lay on it? This is so frustrating..not sure it’s worth complaining about. It flexes now if you push on it. It wasn’t like this before (I wash it every week so I would know). My questions are... 1. Will water get in that crack and cause any problem? 2. Can I bend it back in place?
  8. Mine are doing this also on both sides. I bought the truck brand new in Feb. 2019...I mean I could understand if it was 10 years old, but it looks awful...Especially for a $40,000 truck...like why are we taping plastic strips to the back of the cab? Anyone have luck just removing them?
  9. I have a 2019 LD and I always use my parking brake every time I park. I have noticed an issue where when I crank the truck my parking brake light on the dash is not illuminated. It always illuminates when I engage the parking brake, but probably 1/10 times when I crank up there is no brake light on dash. Because of this I drove a few miles the other day with it on and didn’t even get a warning chime!
