  1. My 2019 LT 5.3 with an 8 speed is experiencing the shudder again and the service writer at Covina Hills Chevrolet told me that this time it's because I had it in 4 wheel auto (It's raining) . The advisor told me that the front and rear axle ratios are not the same and this is the cause when you run it in 4 wheel auto. That sounds very odd to me? GM's brochure states tht you can leave it in 4 wheel auto continuously. I had a video of it surging up a hill and they were not interested in watching it whatsoever. Feels like I'm getting scammed or they are trying to wait until it passes 36K and they can charge me for the repair. This is it's second time it's in for the issue. The first time they held it for a few days saying they couldn't get it to act up before they finally said it was fine after they inspected the pan magnets for metal. It ran fine for a couple of days afterwards and then slowly returned to it's herky-jerky self. Now they want me to miss more work to come and ride around with the technician so he can try to feed me more bs I guess. Now Why would I ever consider another GM product? I miss my 07 now.
  2. Check Engine compartment fuse box fuse #81.
  3. Try these guys https://lljcustoms.com/store/ols/products/2014-2018-gm-t-harness-for-8-screens-without-bose-1418gm8
  4. Stock shocks are way too soft especially with heavy tires on the truck. I have Eibach E60-23-032-01-10 in front set to mid- lift setting with 2 inch leveling kit for about 3-1/4 inch front lift. These are not soft shocks, but handle the larger heavier tires beautifully. I have the Rancho RS999198 adjustables on the rear and I played around with them while unloaded, while towing our jet skis and on Home Depot runs. Set to 1 is too soft especially with heavier 62 pound 10 ply tires so 2 or 3 really the minimum. Set to 8 pr 9 makes them ride like rocks empty but nice with 1000 pounds in the back. 5 in is a nice compromise so I don't have to crawl under and change the settings and is where I now just leave them. I have 2 inch blocks on the rear so I added extensions to cover that.
  5. Ok I put the JBL GTO 329 speakers in the dash yesterday and they sound great. The highs now come from the dash and they are crystal clear. I tested new vs old when i had just one side installed and there was no comparison in the sound quality. There was some cutting by hand with a Sawzall blade and I had to destroy the old speakers to use their connectors on the new speaker. It's not too pretty under the speakers and grills, but they are in tight (one screw and crammed in) and all the hacking is invisible once the grills are re-installed. I will never go back to stock speakers and now I have the capability to install a powerful amplifier in the future if I so choose. You can see the size difference of the 3-1/2 vs. the 2-3/4 speaker and the vocals and highs are loud and clear from the dash. The original capacitors cut too much of the lows out so I installed the included JBL capacitors.
  6. Those should fit well. Memphis make good stuff.
  7. I have not yet, but I plan to soon. I still have the treble set pretty high and midrange set low when I listen. It's probably because the speakers are low in the doors and the dash speakers are really shallow and scratchy sounding. When I put a thick magazines over the dash speakers it allows the door speaker's midrange to be turned up and sound great, but I still want the dash speakers replaced. My concern is that they are not 3-1/2" holes and i want to install JBL 3-1/2 inchers that have mids and highs. Anybody get 3-1/2 's in they're dash? https://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-GTO329-3-5-150W-GTO-SERIES-2-WAY-CAR-AUDIO-STEREO-SPEAKERS-SET/171765291947?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Ddcf3c25fcbde4b2c946ce4c5a8b81f9a%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D293612571402%26itm%3D171765291947%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DJBL&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af4ef422c-b280-11ea-a0b0-74dbd180c0ae|parentrq%3Aced1c0431720a9c42def92f6fff70fee|iid%3A1 https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Speakers/PRO+Series/TS-6900PRO
  8. I installed JBL GTO speakers in both doors (front 6 x 9) (rear 6-1/2) of my LT. I also used peel and seal roofing over all holes in door possible with double layers on large openings, but I didn't remove the moisture barrier. I also did this around the speaker adapters which are thin plastic and don't fit tightly. The Truck sounds so much better with deep bass and these low ohm speakers get very loud with the stock radio. FYI The rear speakers only add a little extra bass so if you do just the fronts your may be more than satisfied with that. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Peel-Seal-Instant-Waterproof-Repairs-6-in-x-25-ft-Aluminum-Roll-Flashing/1018733 https://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-GTO629-6-5-360W-2-WAY-COAXIAL-CAR-AUDIO-STEREO-SPEAKERS-SET/191358505852?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Door-Speaker-Adapter-6-5-or-6-75-for-Buick-Cadillac-Chevrolet-GMC-Saturn/123212506609?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/American-International-SH3802-Gm-Suv-Truck-Door-Speaker-Harness-2014-Up/401755313036?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-JBL-GTO939-6X9-600W-3-OHM-3-WAY-FULL-RANGE-CAR-AUDIO-STEREO-SPEAKERS/391356632072?epid=217513263&hash=item5b1eac4c08:g:RPkAAOSwTglYkhoW https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Colorado-2015-2018-Front-Door-to-6x9-Aftermarket-Speaker-Adapter-Plate/312872782667?hash=item48d8abcb4b:g:ZBoAAOSw0lRd5sHW
  9. I tried the flapper clamped open and I feel that the throttle was a little dead off the line like that so I unclamped it and the response returned. I'll wait for a programmer especially one that lets you adjust the rev limiter/ shift points. The truck shifts way too soon. My 07 with a 4.8 and 35 inch tires was shifting north of 6k and it really woke up above 5000 rpm.
  10. From the looks of the instructions and the kit's new harness a simple cut and splice and then the fog lights would receive power from the headlight. Per the instructions you disconnect the factory plug to the headlight and plug it into the new harness which another plug on the new harness then plugs into the head light. Being that everything is LED. I'm thinking that the amp draw may not be an issue.
  11. I purchased mine on Ebay for $189.00 and I just don't feel that comfortable with all that hacking into the electrical systems on the truck. I installed the lights on the truck immediately just for the looks and I'm really considering just connecting them to the headlights. I never shut the fog lights off in my Mustang so I don't imagine I would in my truck either. If you look at the instructions one should be able to modify the new harness to use the power from the right headlight to have them come on with that headlight. My only concern is that the fuse may blow and I should add a relay to prevent that. The hacking into the electrical would be much less involved for those who would say you are still hacking into the electric.
  12. Great post. I'm Considering just the speaker swap for now. Did you listen to the system with just the front speakers swapped? I will eventually get a sub, but I know the stock front speakers need more punch.
  13. Just came across this
  14. I still own a 2000 Mustang GT with a Kenne Bell Twin Screw 2.1 kit and recently replaced the Flowmasters with some quieter mufflers because it was just too loud. They were the first mod I did to the car back in 2000 and now I'm a little older and wanted to hear the radio. I do remember Ford made mufflers for the old FR500 Mustang M-5230-M58 that were quiet until you open it up and a flapper inside the muffler would activate. I would definitely consider something like that for my 19 Silverado. Nice and subdued until you get a little rowdy.
  15. There's that french fry!
  16. I did find that Plasti Dip Selenite Gray is pretty close match, but not perfect a tiny bit darker. https://www.amazon.com/Performix-11357-Selenite-Plasti-Dip/dp/B06XDMWP9F/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=selenite+gray&qid=1577551738&sr=8-7
  17. Added Rear fender Liners since this pic
  18. Thank you!
  19. Domed black with red outline BD Trims (CHEVROLET) and these Ebay Cheapy (Silverado LT) which are not the same size as stock. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-GENUINE-SILVERADO-LT-Nameplate-Emblem-Badge-3D-1500-2500HD-OEM-Red-Line-F/163203153443?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I removed the Silverado badges on the front fenders. The fenders are soft aluminum and you really need to be careful.
  20. It aligned fine and they added some caster according to the results sheet. I'm sure both control arms are somewhat droopy, but I really don't feel any abnormalities in the handling. It's a marked improvement over stock.
  21. I actually tried painting one cap with Plastidip 11357 selenite gray. It was really close. I removed it the next day because it had a flaw and I just want the factory ones. a more skilled painter could surely do the entire mirror in that color and it would look good.
  22. I just recently installed the new Eibachs and they have made a dramatic improvement over the stock front shocks. I already had Rancho adjustable 9000's on the rear for a few months and felt the difference between front and rear on large bumps especially at higher speeds on freeway bridge transitions. The 305/55-20 Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP tires are much heavier and stiffer (62lbs vs. 41) than stock tires so the front would bounce uncomfortably at times. The new shocks don't do that and feel smoother on smooth roads and a little rougher on bumpier roads, but not too rough. Over driveways and speed bumps they actually feel smoother and the truck doesn't bottom out or bounce up and down. I had and kept on a Superlift 2' leveling kit on front and set the new shocks to the second to the highest setting for a 3" total lift in front. So with the 2 inch rear blocks the truck measures 41" high all around. The truck used to rock side to side if you jiggled the steering wheel and felt like my old overloaded service van rocking when it did that. that too is gone.
  23. Thank You, I've seen them on the High Country Models so I guess I will just have to wait until they become available.
  24. Anyone know the part number for these in Satin Steel? There are a few colors available , but the Satin Steel ones I want/need are eluding me.
  25. I replaced my stock rear shocks with some Rancho 9000 adjustables (which are great) and had this same thing happen. Weeks later I lost the left side top screw and had to get one from the hardware store. I really did tightened them plenty tight . I also found that the right side top screw was loose. I when removed it and noticed that the threads seemed too easy to remove by hand. I used some locktight red on top and bottom of both shocks and it's been fine for a couple of months now.
