  1. Thanks for the replies, guys. So I went to my usual dealer today. Built the AT4X in the system, Thunderstorm Gray. Going through the numbers and ready to give a $1000 deposit and my guy starts with "we add this $800 interior protection to every vehicle we sell". Um yah, I'm not buying that. Sales guy: "You have to, it is not optional". Adios, muchacho. Out the door in 10 seconds flat. Never going back there again. I have found it amusing to see these guys on their perches, selling everything at MSRP or over. Really, it has always been so one sided in our favor, I have not minded too much. I was willing to pay MSRP for my 2022 CT5-V Blackwing 6MT, but I draw the line there. It's gonna change back in our favor, and dealers like this will have lost regular customers. At least this one did. Back on topic, this color is available to order, at least on this trim.
  2. Anyone have an order in with this color? My dealer says he can select it for AT4X. I would like to see a color chip first, but they don't have one. I know the trim is heavily constrained as it is, would choosing this color likely add to lead time?
  3. Up to 12k? 2500 for sure. I have pulled a fully loaded travel trailer at about 8000 LBs with my 2020 1/2 ton AT4, 6.2L. The acceleration and braking are fine. I can pull that up the Eisenhower at 65-70 MPH no problem. But as others allude to, I'm tapped on payload. Family, dog, WDH, generator in the box - too much. And you certainly feel the difference in stability compared to a much heavier HD truck. The cylinder deactivation is my concern with the 6.2L. Mine has been a splendid engine, but I know others who have had issues with it. I am out of warranty now and likely changing to a 2500.
  4. Yup, and with the AEV package, a fully loaded AT4X Duramax is going to be around 108 +/-.
  5. I test drove a Sierra gasser last week. It was a double cab model, but I did it with the intention of ordering an AT4X. The dealer was able to build the whole thing in his system. It started around 83k with shipping. It includes quite a few options in the base cost and with everything I added it was at 88k or so. Not sure how the Silverado compares. Regarding the gasser, I wish it moved a bit better, but it is OK for me. My trailering is typically 10k or less, but I do need the payload of 2-3000 LBs. I owned a 2015 LML before and it was awesome, but it did halve multiple sensor issues and the DEF heater replaced (under warranty, I never intended to keep it out of warranty). If the gasser treats me well, I definitely will.
  6. No offense but you can't compare Ram to GM on selling price. At the height of the over MSRP craze a year ago, a year +, a Colorado dealer was offering to order me any new Ram 2500 at a good % under invoice. I was considering a Power Wagon, and just remembered the way I built it came out to 78k or so, and the out the door price would have been about 12k off. For a brand new built to my specs truck. That said, my current 2020 AT4 1/2 ton stickered at 67 and I got it for 58. This was 12/2019, so pandemic issues were not yet affecting the market. I am looking at a 2024 GMC 2500 right now, and no way in hell I will pay MSRP.
  7. It was a while I met him. In fact, it was back when I had my 2010 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition. I'm thinking 2012. In person, he was very friendly. That is all I am saying. Their channel in general is much more about fluff. Very little technical expertise.
  8. Well, that guy supplied much more informative thoughts about towing than the TFL guys. Andre especially, he should only let the older guy talk on the towing videos, as he seems to know a lot more. The TFL first look video at the SIlverado ZR2 HD Bison edition was an embarrassing effort by Andre. I met Roman a handful of years ago in a mountain town, cool guy. Andre is more window dressing than substance.
  9. Are you working with a smaller dealer? I sure learned a lot about ordering from GM when I bought a CT5-V Blackwing. Tried to do so through my local dealer who does not get hardly any allocations for the V cars. After 3 months and nothing I changed to an out of state dealer who leads the nation in V car sales and had my allocation 6 months after (I know that sounds extreme for at the time the car was near impossible to get). I am considering a new truck order and checked in with my regular sales guy. He told me an allocation for me would be fast. They sell a fair amount of trucks. I am just deciding on which model I want.
  10. Sorry neckturtle, I have watched for PMs but not replies. Yes, still available, and price drop to $200.
  11. Removed from my 2020 Sierra AT4 crew cab short box after 15,000 miles or so and sitting in garage since. Fine condition, no dents or scrapes, includes factory brackets and bolts. MSRP new is $895 I think. Reduced to $200, can meet near Highlands Ranch CO. Send PM if interested.
  12. Oh no... sorry OP. That is horrible. Glad you are OK.
  13. Sorry to hear this has been buggy for you. A colleague has a new ZR2 Silverado for about 3 months now and says his has been perfect.
  14. Always a balance on attributes. The more aggressive ATs are going to be louder. I miss the Goodyear MT/R, although they definitely won't points for being quiet.
  15. I will do that, thank you. I just don't know why GM does not make them like this. Actually, it makes sense, let people mangle their tailgates and it is more work and sales for the dealers.
  16. How hard would it be to simply have the inner gate be automatically disabled if any hitch is inserted in the receiver? That is how these should be delivered.
  17. Sorry Mike, that really sucks. Glad you are OK though. The truck is tough and will get fixed
  18. That does sound good. It won't get confused for a 6.2L LT4, but not bad at all.
  19. I sat in a 2022 recently and they felt a bit softer than my 2020. Mine still look new after 34k miles though, wearing extremely well.
  20. How many miles are you at? My Duratracs are at 34,000 and have been super loud for the past 5000 miles or so. I still have a 1/4" of tread but am likely to replace soon. I have heard BFGs are more quiet, but have not personally run them in years.
  21. Wonder how much the 24s are going to increase.
