  1. I have to say... the Zr2 looks sick! I'm happy GM used the DSSV Multimatic shocks, and added front and rear lockers, but only a n/a 6.2??? Come on there should have at least been a supercharger on there for sure!!! The interior is better that I thought it would be, but that console shifter is terrible, looks like something out of a Dodge. Also, I'm not too crazy about front of the non-Zr2 trucks either. Another thing I don't understand is why would GM put the 8 speed transmission behind the high output 3.0 diesel?? I would take the old version with the 10 speed all day long! Let me know what y'all think?
  2. This is a video I just did on the exhaust.
  3. I have the GMPP aka Borla touring system, but if I hadn't got a smoking deal on it I was going to go with this muffler. Banks always makes top of the line products and I have no doubt this is muffler is no exception. It has a chamber in the muffler to eliminate drone. For 300 bucks it's much cheaper that the Borla and worth trying in my opinion. https://www.bankspower.com/i-955-exhaust-muffler-stainless-steel-3-5-inch-inlet-and-outlet-for-2005-2016-ford-truck-6-8l-6-2l-and-chevy-6-0l-6-2l.html
  4. Sorry it took so long my contact was on vacation. Your engine was built in Spring Hill Tennessee.
  5. I have a video of a cold start in cab and some steady cruising where I experienced drone with my old system and have none with the Borla Touring GMPP system.
  6. St. Catherine's in Canada does as well. Let me ask an engineer. It's stumping me. I'm just a lowly pipefitter!
  7. Are you sure the first letter is a N? It could be a M for Mexico. That is what my 2020 5.3 was. The rest of it is just sequence #'s.
  8. Here is a cold start and some revs. with my 6.2 and the GMPP exhaust.
  9. 2 totally different problems here. The first was a bad batch of valve springs that were breaking causing the valve to possible drop into the cylinder. This latest one is a spring inside the lifter fails that allows it to collapse when the DFM is active.
  10. Great video. There's proof you get what you pay for!
  11. Exactly. The stock 6.2 exhaust starts at 3.5" and necks down to 3" at the muffler and flapper and then back to 3.5" before it splits into 2 2.5" dual pipes. When I cut the muffler out I replaced it with a 3.5" muffler and bought a length of 3.5" 304ss tubing to eliminate all the 3" tubing.
  12. I often wondered this myself. I swaped my stock muffler out for a straight through vibrant quiet muffler and it had a deep mellow tone, but droned like crazy! Why doesn't the Borla? I even left the factory resonators on my 6.2 in place. Mind you I called Borla and tried to buy just their touring muffler that they sell with their full exhaust. They wouldn't do it. So I found a new in the box GM pp exhaust "which is the same as the Borla touring system" for 700 on marketplace. When I got it I looked in the muffler and although it's a straight through design. It has a hole on the one side of the core. That is where the difference is. Not the tubing design. It's in the muffler and let me tell you it works! The only other muffler I thought of trying was this one from Banks. https://www.bankspower.com/i-955-exhaust-muffler-stainless-steel-3-5-inch-inlet-and-outlet-for-2005-2016-ford-truck-6-8l-6-2l-and-chevy-6-0l-6-2l.html It has an expansion chamber that claims to eliminate drone.
  13. You can do it easily in your garage or driveway with basic hand tools. You will have make one cut on the stock exhaust to get it out unless you have a lift. The system lines with the hangers perfectly and fits great.
  14. Yeah, I drove 3hrs to get it. I couldn't pass it up.
  15. Well I picked up a new in box GM pp exhaust from FB marketplace yesterday for 700. I installed it this morning and I am very impressed to say the least. Compared to the muffler swap I removed, this thing is amazing! The old system sounded good but had terrible drone and was unbearable. This system sounds better and has zero and I mean zero drone, and is so quiet in the cab. My 14 year old son who wants everything straight piped agrees that is sounds so much better than muffler swap. Save up and spend the extra money and buy a quality system. Borla knows what their doing.
  16. Sure. I'll put a link for a YouTube video I'll take tomorrow. That way you can see exactly where to look.
  17. I agree. I did a muffler swap on mine and it is cheap and sounds good, but I do have some drone. I plan on replacing it with the Borla touring cat back.
  18. The first 7 digits on mine were T221077. Which means T-Tonawanda, 2-2nd shift, 21-2021, 077- the 77th day of the calander year. Which was 3-18-21.
  19. 20210806_103339.heicThat was the case for my truck, but I'm sure there will be exceptions. Yes. You need to find the Julian date sticker on the back driver side of the engine block. It's tough to see but you can do it. Here is a pic. of mine.20210806_103339.heic 20210806_103339.heic
