  2. So the GM online parts sites are wrong? They show the same part number. The difference is in the pickup part. The tank itself is the same.
  3. The reason they don't offer tanks for gas is the tank is part of the emissions systems on gas. They offer a bigger tank for a 2020 1500 diesel. If you look at a parts web site the gas and diesel use the same fuel tank. When my warranty is up I am going to install a diesel tank on my 6.2 gasser. A Titan diesel tank. It should work since the stock tanks are the same.
  4. Lots of rain today. Mines still dry. Fingers crossed. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk

  6. Yeah when I was 16. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  7. My 03 has the jump seat. I never used it. I don't like it. I am glad my new Trail Boss has the console. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  8. A 40 foot trailer behind a 1500 is a bad idea. It wiggles you crash. Wind hits it you crash. Your truck is just way too light for that much leverage. The suspension and tires are just too soft. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  9. Mine sat out in rain all day yesterday at work. Then drove home in everything from light to hard rain. I looked and no leaks. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. I finally plugged my laptop into the truck tonight. 14 hours each of the last 2 days made me too tired the last 2 nights. The only thing that requested an MIL was the brake system module. A lost communication code. The freeze frame data from the time of the request all looked fine. It's either a fluke or I did something installing the auto stop eliminator. It's off now. I've been driving my old Duramax since that day. I will drive the 1500 tomorrow and make sure it stays off. But there were no ECM or CAN codes that would have been caused by installing that unit. The freeze frame didn't even show any requests from it during the time the MIL was requested. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  11. Well maybe not now I have a CEL. I will scan it tonight to see if it's related. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  12. Installed today. Works great. Works exactly as promised. Well worth the money. Easy install. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  13. I just ordered one. I despise that feature. And no switch used every start will last forever. I hate hitting it every time. An we have 3 cars and 2 trucks plus I drive semis for a living. I don't like a special step for just 1 vehicle. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for telling me about auto stop eliminator. I despise that feature. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  15. Are the bulbs replaceable? In my 03 Duramax I got much brighter LEDs to replace the incandescent bulbs. It made a huge difference. I then got the same type that fit the mirror in my C6 Vette. It really sucks because being a convertible it only has the mirror lights. No place for a center light in a fabric top. That made a huge difference too but it still sucks. The one in the center of the roof in the 2020 puts out about the same light as a birthday candle behind a coke bottle. That's the one I would upgrade. The front ones would be a problem if you need a map light while driving. They would reflect off the windshield. They can't even be aimed. On the old truck the mirror lights and center light come on together so I upgraded them. The map lights are separate and can be aimed. That made more sense. I don't like that the map lights are part of the courtesy lights. Even on big trucks they are separate. Most have 2 on each side. One clear and one red to prevent reflection. Normally in one fixture on either side of the courtesy light. The courtesy light operates the way our map lights do when you push the lense. But GM went cheap on these trucks and made them dual purpose. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  16. We have had a lot of rain here lately. Everything from down pours that are causing flooding to light rain. I keep checking but still not leaking. Although yesterday and today I will be driving the old truck. We had a massive wind storm night before last and there is stuff all over the roads. I don't want to risk scratching the black paint so it will stay in the garage. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  17. There's nothing there for self closing. The click is the release operating. Only for opening. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  18. The click is the unlock mechanism. The motor that lifts it isn't there. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  19. As I have said before the aftermarket will fix this. They see money to be made. Now several companies will compete for the best fix. I hope mine holds up until there are several choices. Then I will just pay to fix it right. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  20. It will bolt in but you need the electronics. There are stand alone aftermarket setups that will make it work. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  21. Rained all day here yesterday. Still no leaks. I keep expecting to see one. I drove the old truck today. 17 years old and still no leaks. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  22. Who knows. I don't believe anything they say unless I can see it for myself. The sales people and service people all have to attend the same "How to lie to the customer with a straight face" class when hired, no matter the manufacturer or dealer. Trust, but verify, has usually proven my cynical nature to be correct in past conversations and with dealer personnel. They must take the class along with truck dispatchers. 23. Did you not have factory tinted rear windows? Or did you just want it darker. I would think if you didn't have factory tinted you could get them to put one in. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  24. Even going north from Winnemucca it's a very long way to the next fuel stop. It's Jackpot. Last time I was there they were getting over $6 a gallon. But the next fuel is I 84 in Idaho. I took the new truck to Salt Lake last October towing my 30' trailer. I ran out on 84 just before Twin Falls. I knew that might happen so I had 5 gallons of premium in the bed. Also 5 gallons of ethanol free regular for the generator. I could use that if needed. But it wasn't. When I got to Twin Falls I filled the 5 gallons in the can incase I did it again. I have decided that truck sucks for towing. Small fuel tank is one reason. Bad fuel mileage is another. And it's just not nearly as stable as the old Duramax either. It's nicer and all but me and the little lady agree the old truck is better for long trips towing. It has a 45 gallon transfer flow tank in place of the stock one and another 12 in the bed with a pump to move it to the main tank while driving. It will make it from Seattle to Twin Falls on that easy. It took 3 tanks and the 5 in the new truck. Then it didn't make it to SLC from there. The old one makes it there with over half a tank left and not needing the tank in the bed. And it handles the 80 MPH speed limits in ID and UT better. Much more stable and less loss of fuel mileage due to the higher speed. The 6.2 has plenty of power though. I was surprised how well it pulled up Cabbage out of Pendleton OR. Almost as well as the Duramax. I didn't expect that. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  25. Maybe things are different in the west. Here you need to be more worried about how far the exits are from each other. In UT MT and parts of ID you need to stop before it's too late. Another thing that sucks with our small tanks. Towns with stations can be close to 50 miles apart. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
