  1. Borla is famous for drone. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  2. Yes but I would prefer if it worked like paddle shifters and was full manual. So you could force upshifts or hold a gear near the top of a hill without a downshift. Of course it will only use a gear within the safe parameters. So you can't damage it. Even the Corvette will downshift if it drops below the minimum RPM. But then it will hold that gear. Otherwise it stays in the selected gear. That would make even more sense for a truck. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  3. Make sure you use diesel oil. The circle should say ci. Compression ignition. If it only says si, spark ignition, it's not diesel oil. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  4. Oil for gas engines is different than oil for diesel engines. If it is gas engine oil then i would get it out of there. Plus the reason the high number is 40 is even in cold weather the turbo gets hot. So I would just to be safe. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  5. If the 8 speed is like the 10 speed all it does is limit how high a gear it can use. I don't like that. It should be full manual selection. Like the paddle shifters on my Vette. That's how the 6 speed Allison trans worked when they came out. At least make it selectable in settings between both ways. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  6. Then you didn't hurt it. Low oil pressure would be a different story. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  7. When you say low oil light was it low oil or low pressure? Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  8. I have a Corvette. It sits all winter and is only a toy for occasional use. Yes it sits long enough to need a battery tender. But if it sits a week or 2 it doesn't need it. It has all the same goodies on it. It always starts. Not being a daily driver on a modern loaded vehicle is not the problem. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  9. You didn't hurt it at all. The add oil mark on the dipstick is 2 quarts low. The only way you could have hurt it is if you ran it at very high RPMS cold. Then the oil pump could move it faster than it could flow back. Even then it may not have been a problem. Don't waste time worrying about it. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. It's been raining here at all different intensities. No leak yet. I still think the aftermarket will come out with a replacement that works. I will just pay the money and get that or go solid. If I had ordered the truck i would have had solid. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk

  12. A while back there was discussion about fuel efficiency and sport mode. With my 6.2 I did a little experimenting. I live 17 miles from work. It's 800 feet lower at work than home. The first half of the trip to work is rural roads. The second half is city. No freeway at all. Going to work very early in the morning there is very little traffic. As I drive a truck for a living I get off at different times. Some days traffic is heavy some not as much. But never as light as the morning. Over the time since that discussion what I have found is going to work in light traffic I get better mileage in normal setting. I get better mileage going home uphill in sport mode. The difference is greater when traffic is not as heavy. When traffic is real heavy it's so close I can't tell which is better. But basically it seem mostly uphill sport mode gives better efficiency and mostly down hill normal is more efficient. That's based on the 25 mile average in the DIC. I have been keeping track of how much fuel I add for 9 fills without resting the trip meter and the average is pretty much exact over that many tanks. Every time the hand calculation over the total distance and total fuel matches the DIC exactly. My 08 and 98 Corvettes are right on too. My 03 Duramax says it get about 25% better mileage than it dose. Your results may vary. The difference is about 2 MPG on the medium traffic uphill direction. It's less than 1/2 MPG in the down hill direction. Almost no difference but I like sport mode better so I think I will just always use it. It takes longer to get the RPMs down to the same point. That seems to be easier on the drive train. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  13. I will stick with android auto maps from my phone at that price. The nav in my 2008 Vette is no longer supported and no updates are available. It's been that way for a few years. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  14. Mine has the card reader in the console. It didn't come with a card. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  15. Is the big screen the 8"? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  16. Ok I was mistaken. I thought the double cab was the bigger one but it looks like the crew cab is. And that's what I have. For some reason I thought what I have is called the double cab. Because it's the bigger one. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  17. I saw it said that was the case somewhere else. I can't remember where. That's why I am asking here. But i don't think mine leaks yet. It's got about 3000 miles about half towing a 30 foot travel trailer. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  18. The owners manual talks about an SD card for navigation. Anyone know what trim level is needed and where to get it? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  19. I have been checking mine every rain. Everything from mist to heavy rain. No leaks. I have the longer cab. It seems these are all the shorter crew cab. Is that correct? Maybe a difference in how they flex? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  20. I want to completely remove the Z71 badges from my midnight black Trail Boss. And the trailboss stickers. And powder coat the hooks black. All that stuff looks stupid on there. The 6.2 black badges need to go too. The way they are on there is stupid. They are annoying looking over the hood. I may get the all black bow tie. While I am at it I will likely remove the Silverado and LT badges from the tailgate. Anyone who doesn't know it's a Silverado is not anyone who would care. The fact it's an LT is obvious due to the different grill and headlights. Don't care if they cant tell it's a Trail Boss or Z71. I do really like the look of the Midnight package on the black truck. And with the LT grill it makes the ugly looking front end look acceptable. They should put he guy who designed the front end in prison. I almost bought a Ford becuse of it. But I don't want an ecoboost and they don't have a V8 like the 6.2.. When I saw this one on the lot I decided I could live with it. I have actually come to like the way it looks except the red tow hooks. I am an old guy and like chrome. But it is just wrong on this truck. But I kept my 2003 Duramax and I can get my chrome fix there. My Corvettes are also chrome free from the factory. Maybe some day I will get a chrome bumper C3 Corvette and sell my all black 98 coupe. My Jetstream blue convertible with black top and interior is not goig anywhere. I love that car. Well it did come from the factory with the chrome forged wheels. So I guess it's not chrome free. And I love those wheels on that color.
  21. A lot of good advice here. The most important one is stop using them completely. They charge you interest they day you make the purchase. The minimum payment is almost all interest. Any extra goes straight to the balance. Credit cards can be a good thing if you pay the whole balance every month. EVERY MONTH!!! I have a card that gives me 1 to 3% back on everything. Since I pay them no fees or interest it's a good deal. The merchant is paying for it. If they don't offer me a cash discount I will get my small discount that way. If your credit is not great that will hurt your credit score because they take the balance on a certain day each month and it never shoes paid off. Having several cards so your balance percentage is lower helps. You do need to use them at least 1 time each year so they don't close them. Buy again I will say don't use them at all until you pay them off. No exceptions. If you must use one get a new one and only use it. Pay it in full every month. Every month. No exceptions. As others have said if you can't pay cash you likely don't need it.
  22. I live in western Washington and it rains here a lot. I had a trans leak and when at the dealer I asked about this. He said they had never had one come in for that. He didn't even know about the problem.
  23. I am glad I live very rural. The nearest town is 5 miles away. And its a small town. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
