  1. I have never really seen that. Most stations have premium. When I got my Duramax in 03 diesel was a little hard to find Now most stations have it. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  2. This really sucks. My 03 2500HD with almost 300,000 miles doesn't leak. I would expect it from that. It was leaking on the front passenger floor in extreme rain. Turned out the drain in the bottom of the left fender was plugged. It filled up to the HVAC system. I cleaned it out and no more leak. Good thing since it has no space in the garage now. So it goes in the RV shed with the RV and the Jhon Deere. The Jhon Deere has to be in the middle as it will go past the trailer tongue. It's the only way everything fits and the door will close. So I tend to leave the truck outside when the tractor is being used. It's also not a push the button door. So if I will be using it again the next day it's easier to leave it out. I normally don't leave any vehicles outside. But it is fenced and gated rural property and if it is up by the garage you can't see it from the street. So I think it's pretty safe. And it is right under a security camera. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  3. I check mine every rain. In other words most days here in the Pacific Northwest. No leaks yet. If it leaks while on warranty I will let them fix it. I will make it clear when I drop it off they will be responsible for anything that they damage. There is money to be made by the aftermarket once warranties start to expire. They will find a fix. If not after warranty it will get a solid window. But someone always comes up with a fix usually cheaper than the manufacturer way. I have owned Corvettes all my adult life. That's a long time and a lot of cars. Every generation has several bad designs. The aftermarket comes out with a fix for all of them. The only exception i know of is the ABS on early C5s. And that's because the problem showed up during GMs bankruptcy and the company that made them failed. There are no plans or information to reproduce them. Although someone may have figured it out now. I have one of those but it works and it's my older one and it rarely gets driven. But in some states they won't pass inspection with the ABS light on. The problem is the unit is sealed in epoxy so it can't be repaired. I believe there will be a good fix in the near future. They sell a lot more of these than Corvettes. 4. I found out LED headlights suck in snow. No heat is generated and you have to keep stopping to brush the snow off at night. This i really don't like. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  5. Years ago I always owned Ford trucks and GM cars. Mostly Corvettes but 1 Camaro and 1 Trans AM. Wife likes Malibu. In 95 I bought a 454 2500 Chev. Then the 03 Duramax I still have. Now this 20 Trail Boss. I am kinda wishing I hadn't bought this new one. I drive the 03 more. I like it better. Yesterday it snowed hard on the way home. The LED headlights suck. No heat is generated and the snow covers them up. It's a nice truck but the old one is built better. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  6. Go Ford. Ram quality went bad now that they are Fiats. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  7. I think they make you get it on any package that has a sunroof so they don't need to make a different panel for the controls. I will check and see if there is a panel that has everything but the rear window is I put a solid window in. But I doubt it since mine has a sunroof and garage door opener. There is not likely a package that has those and no slider. I still think that is why they don't give you that choice. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  8. I actually don't like the slider. It has too much stuff in the view. And that tiny opening is useless. So if mine leaks it will be replaced with a solid window. I didn't want the slider anyway. But my OCD will drive me crazy having a non functioning switch up there. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  9. Better fuel mileage had nothing to do with the choice. I would have bought a Ford if they had a more powerful engine that was not a mouse with a supercharger or turbo. I like big old school V8 power. I figured it likely got worse mileage than the 5.3. So that is dosen't is just a nice benefit. But I would have bought an F150 if the 5.3 was the biggest engine GM had. Not enough bigger than the 5.3 to buy the Chevy. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. I agree the cab lighting suck. My 03 has better lighting and it's not great. But my Corvette Convertible really sucks. 2 lights under the mirror and 2 in the floor wells. It may as well not have interior lights. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  11. But when it dose it usually rains hard. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  13. I don't want to give up the options for tow mirrors. I isn't a good tow rig anyway. I have tried it twice and I think I will just use my old Duramax for that. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  14. Have you found power folding tow mirrors that have the lights for side vehicle sensors? You can't even order tow mirrors without giving up half the options i have. I am hoping that the aftermarket will fix that. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  15. I guess I have been lucky. Mine is not leaking. And I live in rainy Seattle. How do you know the build date on the truck? Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  16. I kinda feel that way about my Trail Boss LT with the blackout package. The red tow hooks look odd too. But I am trying to leave this one mostly stock. 40 plus years of modifications on every vehicle i have owned i want to break that bad habit. If i feel the need to modify something i have my Duramax and 2 Corvettes that are already modified. Infact I just ordered a new radio with Android Auto for the Duramax since I like it so much in my new truck. It will be here tomorrow. But I really want to leave this truck alone and just drive it. 17. My truck is a Chevy and has the Durabed according to the window sticker. The web site says it has high strength steel for the floor. Mild steel for the interior box sides and aluminum for the exterior box sides and the tail gate. I tested it with a magnet and they are not steel. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  18. I was crossing the mountains in Southern Oregon and Northern California a few years ago. It was snowing hard. I was towing my travel trailer with my Duramax. The CHP chain enforcement check point made me chain up the trailer. Not the truck because it's 4WD. Just the trailer. Even though it has BF Goodrich all terrain TAs on it. I was not happy about it. When I stopped to take them off I forgot to take it out of 4WD. I didn't notice it until I got to LA. It was jumping trying to turn backing into the RV spot. As best I can tell it didn't hurt anything. Mostly freeway and it was raining hard the whole time. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  19. And with the clutch slip there is less chance of the front tires bending the tie rods and going full toe in. I know these trucks really don't have the power to do that easily but it can happen. It's common on Duramax powered trucks. Plus when crossing the slick crosswalk lines all the power going to the front end could break something. It's not as heavy duty as it's not intended to be the only one operating. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  20. The Durabed fenders are aluminum. Drilling in them is not the problem it would be with steel. Just use the provided hardware as the wrong hardware will corrode aluminum. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  21. I did put LEDs in the backup lights. It mode a huge difference. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  22. I like the cargo lights with backup mod. That would put the hitch light on and help the camera view. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  23. I used to be like that. Then a semi changed lanes and ran me into the median. It was a nightmare getting to the hubs in the deep snow. Once I did I was able to back right out. I left then locked in winter weather after that until trucks with hubs went awry. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  24. Everyone on the Corvette forum who gets them complains about the drone. I thought my magnaflow on my C6 had drone until I rode in my buddies identical car other than color. His Borla is 3 or 4 times worse. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  25. If the engine is stock it will make no difference in power or MPGs. On a seriously moded engine it might. But not a lot. And that's what high flow cats are for. As an old guy who grew up in LA in the 60s I don't want those days back. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
