  1. The first issue is the puddle/domelight's. I first noticed the issue when the puddle lights were flickering when the unlock button was pushed or the door was opened. Also, the interior dome lights would not come on when the door was opened. I've pushed the overhead switch to the on position and sometimes they would flash on quickly and shut off, but most of the time not come on at all. The dome lights come on when the individual buttons are pushed, but not at all with the overhead switch. Anyone know where the fuse is that controls the overhead switch? My second issue is with the left turn signal. On the DIC I got a turn indicator failure for the left rear. The indications are with the blinker activation, the mirror/dash blinker lights will flash normal for about three seconds and then pulse quickly, followed by DIC message. *edit* Brake lights (left) also don't activate. I took the truck in today and got it diagnosed. The diode mod, performed exactly like the steps in this forum, somehow shorted out my BCM. I can't believe that would have done it, considering several other things that BCM controls work without issue. Well, new BCM and programming repair will cost one $675 dollars, all because I forgot to take out the damn diode before going to the dealership. Hard life lessons. sidenote: I also performed the footwell lights modification and I'm certain this somehow factored into the equation. I just removed the bcm and there are no chared areas or visible broken solders. If the bcm shorted out, wouldn't I be able to see something on the circuit board? Can any trained eyes spot any areas of interest where I can snap a closer photo to post. With everyone who has had zero issues with the diode mod, I find it hard to believe this is the case. I think they saw the mod and blamed it all on that right away. Should I even take it as far as to say per the magnuson warranty act, in order for them to decline warranty coverage, they have to prove the diode caused the failures? Financially, what could that lead to in further costs for me, or will they not want to hassle and potentially just fix it? The entire BCM looks unaffected .
  2. First time posting on here, I’ve tried Facebook for answer and have gotten nowhere. I have seen all of the cargo/reverse light mods and can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. I am wanting to add a set of reverse bumper lights to my truck, my problem that I’m trying to figure out is I want to either add a switch on my dash or use the existing cargo lamp switch to power them. I am only wanting my reverse lights to come on when I put my truck in reverse or turn the cargo light switch on but when I put my truck in reverse I do NOT want my cargo lights to come on. I want to be able to use my bumper lights anytime I please no matter if I’m parked or driving down the road but I also don’t want my tail light reverse lights to be on when I turn the switch on. Only when I put my truck in reverse do I want the factory reverse lights on, I don’t want them to be on if I’m driving down the road. I also don’t want my truck to display the R on the dash if I’m driving down the road and I turn them on. I figure I’m gonna need a couple of relays and diode or two but I not exactly sure what I will need or how to add them all to the truck and it function how I want it. I want to be able to add a switch into the bed for the bed lights as well so I need the cargo/bed light switch that I add to work with this setup I’m wanting to add.
  3. This diode installation allows all of the lights to remain on simultaneously when the high beams are activated on GM vehicles. The diode is super easy to install, you need $2 and 10 minutes. 9 of those minutes will be spent congratulating yourself. After diode placement your lights will function as follows: In auto mode- whenever your lights come on automatically the fogs will be on also. Low Beams & Fogs- Only Low Beams & Fogs will be on High Beams- Low Beams, Fog Lights, & High Beams will all be on (normally by default) The vehicle turns off the fogs when in high beam mode, but this diode solves that. MAKE SURE THE SIDE OF THE DIODE WITHOUT THE STRIPE IS IN THE 10 PIN. The diode allows electricity to travel in only one direction.
  4. I am currently sitting in front of boost autos High beam to spot mirror mod for the 2019+ HD trucks. This kit taps into the BCM using a relay and a diode to achieve the spot lights on while in drive. I'll attach a install link that shows the wire taps in the BCM. Although this kit sounds nice, I don't want my Task lights (spot lights) on whenever my high beams are on, but rather have the option to use the stock dash button to achieve my desired lighting while in drive. From what I've broke down I believe this to be a ground activated relay and could be done differently then tapping into the high beams. The kits relay is wired as follows: 30- red to fuse with a jumper to 30, 86-black, 85- red jumper from 30, 87- dual outputs with diode. Could anyone simplify this for me to where I can either just always have use of my mirror lights in drive or park, or what I need to wire/jump etc to achieve this? I feel like I'm over thinking this and there should be a simple answer that tricks the truck's mirror lights to believe they are still in park. Maybe a ground wire just tapped in or something???
  5. Hello all, I’m kind of wondering, has anybody ever installed this DRL kit from Diode Dynamics? It basically lets you choose between amber and white LEDs. Yesterday I came across a 2016+ Silverado with amber LEDs at night and it was sick!! Might be looking to make something similar but I want to see more pictures of this kit installed and hear anything someone might have to say about the quality. here’s a video:
  6. Are you guys removing diodes before bring to a dealer for service if still under warranty? I have the dealer do oil changes so far, but have not done any diode insertions yet.
  7. I have a pair of factory headlights with diode dynamics switchback leds and morimoto hids. The hids are incredibly bright and the switch leds are bright as well. Also installed is the Klearz amber delete. The amber you see in the pic is an amber colored bulb. Can ship, buyer pays shipping cost. I can box them in the Anzo headlight boxes. $500.00 OBO

    Diode DRL 1996

    From the album: random

led headlamps allowed a much less robust diode. This one is 10A, no heatsink.
