  1. GM still uses that thermostat in the late model trannies, same part with lower temp, is a direct fit for the 6 speed i have to guess. you cant persue a lawsuit , judge will throw it out of court. That high temp is part of improving fuel consumption, and that's mandated by EPA and the Feds.
  2. they use this thermostat in all the trannies, with the old thermostat design GM was getting hammered with warrantee claims. trans failing to early 40,000-70,000 miles, this lower temp upgrade will fix that
  3. take it to dealer see what he says
  4. just keep your airspeed up, and the thermostat will do its job to perfection.
  5. i wonder what other emmissions devices and sensors are installed on the 6.6 , that if any sensor or part failed would it enter into limp mode, and is there a work around for these components to make the diesel emmissions Illegal so they are usable in the long run, say for 30 years? I'm gonna assume world manufactuering of critical components will be halted for carbon fueled vehicles. when that happens in say another 10-15 years, due to climate change madness, your better off leasing the dream truck
  6. what does it run about to tune the 2018 and newer stuff?
  7. i would upgrade to the 6.2 Radiator, 175 t-stat from Katec, tune fans for 188-190 degrees, re-tune transmission, TCC lock up points activate at 4th or 5th-6th gear for towning, zero tcc slip, and tighten the clutch pressures 10%. then do 3000 mile oil changes, and trans flush every 8000 miles... bolt open the flapper valve in the muffler for full flow and disable the AFM #1 upgrade is thermostat delete in trans
  8. my camper deosn't use the third brake light, left it disconnected, one less wire to short out I guess, no trouble from the Law either, so I skipped it..
  9. I would start with a Colorado 4x4 platform
  10. No way can I give you the source.my mouth is shut
  11. i think the main issue is with the failing DEF sensors on commercial trucks, no parts available, as commercial trucking is having a supply issue getting the sensor and they get 1st dibs when those arrive..$300 part now cost $2000-4000 each, Bring back manufacturing to America!
  12. it may not be up to you the way politics is going..
  13. i been given this same look , many many times..around 3AM when the bars have closed.. i often wonder whats going thru thier mind , and I relized it ain't good, so I scoot out of there quick as possible
  14. i drove by a PepBoys today, and its completly gutted, except for tires and install area, and a small office I have a nagging feeling we Non-EV owners might be loosing access to autoparts here in California after Newsome declared a total ban on gas powered engines in a couple years. this goes hand in hand with GM and Ford buying out most all the junkyards so no access to old car parts anymore..
  15. i'm guessing its marketed to Mexicans that like soccer, is that racist? : )
  16. does the "MaxTow" come with integrated trailer controller? I also thought Maxtow had 3.73 gears?
  17. i think the potential to stick closed is higher if the truck sits for long periods of un-use, if its a daily driver than it most likey continue functioning without any hang ups. definatly add this to a lubrication point during service, shoot some silicone spray lube into the bearing surfaces I only read of one report that the valve stuck closed and overheated the exhaust and caused a fire, but i dont have access to all the reports made to GM Legal department
  18. yeah i had that happen too, that's why i always leave a window down just enough to get my arm in to open the door.. a smart guy would go to a locksmith and get him to cnc a nonprogrammable key to hide somewhere.
  19. it's not any louder, and it potentially can stick closed causing restriction. though i'm sure it helps with other aspects like cat and o2 warm up, but i never noticed any issues with it being bolted open.
  20. wow, on the 10 speed that 1st (4.7)gear transition to 2nd (2.99)gear must be an annoying shift
  21. i bolted mine open on a k2 truck, is this the t1 truck, I'm amaized they still use the flapper?
  22. you can get the Alpine upgrade, smallest one is 6" runs $900, the big 8" and larger screens are over $1200, then you need to buy the dash kit from alpine $500, and the GM CAN Bus adapter kit $??
  23. torque pro is ok, but if i found the pids and other parameters where incorrect, and would give erroneous data. just get the HPtuners obd module, you can thank me later
  24. definatly good to have a VCX nano, I recomemnd HPtuners scanner
