  1. I received the same letter today. I need to go back into my email to see, but I believe they called this a "recall" in that update email I received last month. What perplexes me about this is why not call it a recall? Doing the calculus in my head, It's a $30 part and takes maybe an hour or so of service to replace? I feel as if most truck buyers who have this package will not tow, however these trucks will enter the secondary market where it's acquired by someone who might want to tow. I keep going back to this being a safety issue and the (my perceived) low-cost of repair, they should handle this in perpetuity if it's never been resolved by the original owner... But that's just my $0.02 - I work in customer experience, this is just a horrible one and does not reflect well on the GM brand. I am getting close to 33mpg on my 4x4 3.0 LM2 between Pittsburgh and Columbus when I need to commute, so I'm not looking to trade-in/switch just yet. Camping season just getting ready to start, I'm curious to the mpg and DEF consumption while towing this spring (just did 2 short tows last fall) - I imagine it still beating out the gasoline options in the long run form a value-perspective.
  2. I kinda feel a little vindication now. Like all my calls/emails to my service manager were not in vein. I'm still disappointed there wasn't a no tow memo put out by GM on these vehicles. I hope nobody was injured because of this after it became known...
  3. All stop. The recall looks to be issued today. Check your diagnostic report/call your dealer. I got this in my monthly onstar diagnostics email today... I'm wondering if I need to tell my service manager to clear mine because it wad fixed the first week of January...
  4. The service manager replied to me this am. He gave me part number 84488395. This looks like a legacy part number upon web search. I wonder if there was a bad batch or something...
  5. I asked my service manager for the part number. No response yet. I want it for my records in the event this breaks out of warranty down the road...
  6. Ok. Was able to test this afternoon. Good news. No brake controller errors, gain was fully adjustable and the toggle was responsive each squeeze. I didn't feel weight while pressing the brake pedal either when testing. I've attached the details of the work order bur it does lot look as if a part number is on it. Please let me know if you have any questions! -Brent
  7. Just picked up my truck. I did not get a part number, i will review the work order again tomorrow, but it didn't appear to be on it. I'll try to tow this weekend (probably Sunday as we are pretty booked Saturday).
  8. Ok. My replacement is scheduled for tomorrow. I'll report back asap. I won't be able to test on my camper until something over the weekend. I'm dropping off tonight/picking up tomorrow night. I'll ask for the part number as well. The service manager is going to test it with the magnet tester there. But I need to make sure it works myself on a trailer or 2 (mine and neighbors)...
  9. I'll see what I can do - Hopefully it will be on the work order. I'll also test-tow my trailer.
  10. And dammit if I go down that route 1) the interest rates are getting worse 2) prices have gone up since I bought
  11. I've been following this channel - he seems to be having back up camera issues - however I don't know if he has the brake controller issue (he hasn't towed from what I can tell). https://www.youtube.com/c/JWilliams/videos
