  1. That's an excellent point. Probably not a good place for a lithium battery. LiFePO4 BMS turns off at 140°F
  2. Yep...BlueSea ACR and I use the Victron 50A Orion XS that they just came out with. I have a 120A Anderson connector at the rear of my truck with 2 AWG wire coming from the battery. The Orion is in the trailer for my 560AH lithium battery bank.
  3. I am actually kinda curious what people use their second battery for. I chose not to order it since our use case is towing a trailer with a large lithium bank in it with the option to charge it from the truck through a DC to DC converter. If I camped with the truck alone, I could see it's use but I would likely just mount a lithium battery where the second battery goes and charge it with a DC to DC converter. I do see a use if I wanted to have a powered cooler in the bed and wanted it powered while the truck was not running.
  4. I realized that as well when I read the other section of the Service manual that I posted. I use voltage sensitive relays in my boats that have a starter input that prevents the battery from connecting during cranking. Too bad this doesn't do the same.
  5. That shouldn't be able to happen. My understanding is that the BCM waits until the truck starts before it enables the relays for the auxiliary battery. I can't verify that since I don't have a second battery. EDIT: This is what the Service Manual says:
  6. The auxiliary battery on gas trucks(not sure how diesel trucks are) is only used by a trailer or something you specifically hook to it. It gets charged by the BCM turning on one relay which in turn turns on another relay that allows the 2nd battery to be charged through a 100A fuse from the main battery. I am thinking this is what people are calling an isolator. It's somewhat smart isolation since the BCM commands the relays to close. If I was going to use an powered cooler in the bed of the truck, I would use a deep cycle battery as the auxiliary battery and run the cooler off of it. That would include using a stand alone inverter if the thing runs off 120VAC. The truck's inverter runs off the main battery. From the schematic, you can see the two charging relays as well as the 100A relay which handles the charge from the main battery. In addition, you can see the 30A relay that goes to the trailer and a 175A fuse that isn't used to allow you to hook up to other things you may want.
  7. FactoryManuals.net A few other places have them. Just so you know, links inside the manual don't work so you just have to use the "find" function in your PDF reader. It will come in 4 parts but I was able to get them to also send it to me in one part. Only a few PDF readers can handle such a large file. I use PDF-XChange.
  8. For my truck and one other car, 99%of the miles are freeway. They wear very evenly side to side but vary front to back which is why I only need to do front to back. Since a lot of my miles for my non-truck vehicles are up in the Sierra Nevada with a lot of snow, I end up changing out my tires at the beginning of snow season even if they have a bunch of tread left for safety reasons. If you aren't getting wear side to side, hardly matters doing the cross pattern unless there is some unknow reason why varying which direction the tire rotates helps you in some way.
  9. You are showing the jack points for the included bottle jack. You don't use those points servicing the vehicle with a floor jack or a hoist. Mine is from the service manual and it is 7 pages long showing where to lift the vehicle. I created a PDF of just the jacking point section if you would like a copy.
  10. I did just go through the 2024 GM service manual and the differential is allowed as a jacking point.
  11. I used to do it too until I broke a diff casting. Ford specifically says not to do it in their service manuals. Haven't searched the GM service manual yet to see if it says the same thing.
  12. LOL....There are various theories on proper rotation patterns. The dealer did mine when I brought it in for the radio recall and they did front to back....did not cross.
  13. Hopefully not lifting by the differential.
  14. Says the guy that brings it to a tire shop. Jacking up by the frame in two places is wrong now? That's hilarious! You don't work on your own vehicle much I take it?
  15. My spare is on an 18" steel wheel and my truck has 20" wheels. When I rotate tires, I just pull out my 2 floor jacks and do one side at a time. I can rotate my tires is less time than it takes to drive to Discount tire let alone waiting for them to get to me. It also lets me inspect things like brake wear.
  16. Did you ask the dealer if this was covered under warranty?
  17. I have a factory manual for my 24 and those particular codes don't show up when I did a search of the manual. Your 2022 may be different than an 2024. In the 2024, the trailer lamp control module controls trailer lighting on some models. It receives commands over a serial bus from the BCM. Other models do not use it. If your particular model does not use the trailer control module, it looks like the parkinglamp relay controls the running lights. If that's the case, it's relay KR53 in your engine wiring harness junction box. Since you are getting codes, you probably have the trailer light control module. Hope something here helps. As I said, this is from a 2024. Yours may be different.
  18. Love our 2024 2500HD Denali seats. Everyone is different though.
  19. The engine ECU is what calculates the misfires...not the scanner. Almost any scanner should be able to display the ECU data for misfires.
  20. Gotta love it when people quote you over 2 years later...and then to tell you to stop thinking!
  21. Yeah...I use them too but I had to add a new profile to get the TPMS to work. What are your other dimensions for the camera?
  22. Mine does the exact same thing. Sounds like a turbo spinning up. When I took it into the dealer for other issues, I had them listen to it and they said nothing is wrong. They did tell me there is an issue with the transmission fluid pump on some but it is WAY louder and heard no matter what gear you are in.
