  1. That is correct, and is what I’ve done. My truck is connected to ATT through our wireless phone account. However, Alexa won’t work with that BYOD data plan. It’ll only work if you buy the data plan from OnStar.
  2. It’s understandable that you need data to use the Alexa app, at least IMO. The problem for me though is that it will only work with data that you buy through OnStar. I have my data directly from ATT through my existing account. Alexa won’t work with that data though. Nope, have to buy it directly from OnStar at their higher $$ rates.
  3. It’s interesting how different our experiences can be. I came from a 2016 F150 in Ruby Red (a beautiful color!) that had tons of small rock chips on the bumper and hood. I noticed they started appearing with low miles and never stopped getting worse. I now have a 2019 Sierra in Dark Sky with very very few chips after over 6,000 miles. I don’t know if different colors are more durable or what, but the paint on my Sierra is very impressive compared to my F150.
  4. Bingo! Thanks for the correct suggestion.
  5. Found this on the front passenger floor. Anyone know where it goes?
  6. Not following what you’re saying... Are you saying that if someone swapped out their AAM axles for the GM axles, their VIN would change? This is a very confusing statement.
  7. Preliminary Information. Not sure what the last P is for.
  8. Check out the Agri Cover LoMax. This is the 2nd one I’ve had and think they’re great.
  9. I’m really sorry for your situation and it sucks that it’s costing you two new tires. However, as you said, it’s specifically called out in your owners manual. I guess it’s a lesson for everyone not to take the word of a service tech when it contradicts the manual.
  10. Based on my personal experience and several other posts that I’ve seen, these trucks are just super sensitive to battery drain. The exact same thing happened to me a few months back when I listened to the radio with the engine off for about 45 minutes. I got the same group of 4 (I think) codes. A few drive cycles later they disappeared. For the poster above, this would also make sense for a brand new truck that sat in the lot. Also applicable when the service techs perform the recall. The procedure specifically states that they need to keep the battery on a charger for the duration of the calibration upgrade. I’d bet that many don’t though.
  11. Same here. The most recent F150 that I was referring to a few posts up was also ruby red. Beautiful color, but the paint chips were ridiculous. My Dark Sky SLT so far has much better paint.
  12. Does anyone have this supposed TSB for the spoiler bolts? I have the one for the window, but didn’t know one existed for bolts on our trucks.
  13. I’d say that the spoiler is ONE source of the leaks. The other is clearly the sliding window frame cracking.
  14. I bought mine from Woodland GMC at the end of last year. It was one of the easiest and best car-buying experiences I’ve had. I worked out all of the details before I got there. Went for an unaccompanied test drive, signed the paperwork and was on my way. I believe I got $11,000 off, my including rebates and dealer discount.
  15. The issue is with the sliding windows only. Anyone with a solid window that’s leaking, I believe is actually the spoiler. There’s no place for the solid one to leak, unless it’s installed incorrectly.
  16. I have a 2019 Sierra and find just the opposite. I come from many Ford F150’s that seem to have much softer paint. The GMC doesn’t swirl nearly as easily as the Ford’s did.
  17. Boy this thread really went downhill. Mods need to either clean it up or close it.
  18. That sealant is applied at the factory and not part of the “fix” that the dealers are performing for the leak.
  19. Awesome job!! How long did it take you (labor)?
  20. Comfort is all subjective. Someone could just as easily feel that GM nailed it with these seats. It’s one of the reasons that a good test drive is important. I drove mine around for over an hour (without the salesman present) in an effort to make sure it was comfortable, free of rattles, etc.
  21. Mine does this too, when very lightly touching the breaks at parking lot speeds. Pretty annoying.
  22. The new 10 speeds are junk. Stick with tried and true 8 speed.
  23. And hopefully it stays that way.
  24. This is probably my biggest ergonomics issue with this truck. The brake pedal is way too high compared to accelerator pedal. Much more so than any of my other trucks. Makes it impossible to pivot from gas to brake. Necessitates moving your whole foot.
