  1. I don't understand why you think GM is responsible for your bed not staying dry when that is never a design criteria of theirs, at least not from the truck design side. The bed is designed to be open and get wet. If you want it dry that would fall on whoever designed your cover for covering up all of the other "cracks" and providing a solution for that.
  2. I cannot comment on the answer to your question, but I have noticed that the smell from other cars (especially people smoking) is much stronger in my 2018 no matter the setting than any previous vehicle I have ever had.

  5. I am currently having the Magnaride shocks replaced under extended warranty on my Tahoe LTZ. To quote the sales manager at the dealership where I bought it just a couple months ago, it rode "like a mexican hay wagon". I have done quite a bit of digging on this issue, and it seems that you can replace with most any shock that fits on a non-magnaride truck but as others have stated, you will throw codes. To get around that, there is a company called Xineering that makes a kit that will connect to those sensors and essentially trick the truck into thinking that magnaride shocks are still connected.   6. You can tap into the power source that goes to the trailer connector. In my 2007 I had to hook that power source up to the fuse block under the hood and add a fuse. Not sure if that is the same on the newer models. If you click on the link in my sig for underrail bed lights it will take you to a step by step that I made. Again, that was on a 2007 (non-classic).
  7. Well stated. I am on the same train as you are, in that I want it to be done right and I don't want to have to figure it out myself even though I'm sure I could. However, I also applaud those that do figure it out like th3magpi3 and wish to offer their services for others. As it has been stated in this thread, competition is good for both parties and they offer different service levels for different people.
  8. The only real reason I'm considering it is so I can have Google Maps or maybe Waze in the future on the head unit instead of having to look at my phone to see the map. I have a nav unit now and I would be willing to downgrade to save the money going to IO5 to essentially pay for the whole swap. I hate the GM nav interface with a passion so I never use it.   9. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure that I'm in love enough with AA (I have a Samsung S8) to want to upgrade. If there are other apps that I can add to the car then I might be more interested. I do like the fact that it allows the car to use my hotspot from my phone.
  10. One more question about the swap. Will I be able to mirror my phone to the head unit, or will this only allow the addition of AA/ACP?
  11. I have a 2015 LTZ Tahoe that I want to add AA to the unit. I will check to see which HMI and Radio modules I have in the next couple of days, but as of now I know that I have the ability for the radio to read my texts back to me, though I'm not sure that narrows down either of my modules at this point. I am interested in doing this upgrade, but I would like to keep my Sirius XM. Will this affect the ability to keep my Sirius subscription?
  12. Why not? They both have a factor of safety built in to them, and I watch mileage too to make sure I don't go over about 6k per change. Never have yet.
  13. Negative ghostwriter I'm at about 150k miles on my truck and the 5 years was up in November of last year. I did have the oil consumption looked at by the dealership when it first started, but it wasn't using more than their "standard" amount of oil usage so they wouldn't do anything with it.
  14. My '07 5.3 has used oil since about 50k miles. Its to the point that I use the oil monitor to tell me when I need to change oil. I put 6 quarts in it when I change the oil, then when the light comes on I put in another quart that I keep in my truck. Then when the light comes on again, and I don't have a quart in my truck I know its time to change it. Does this usage bother me? Yes. Am I going to go buy a different truck because of it? No. Would I consider another GMC for my next vehicle? Absolutely. As other have posted, every manufacturer has issues...some you can live with, some you can't.

  17. Well I guess that I can post that I have now officially moved to Columbus, IN and started working. (Actually started at the end of Feb.) I am originally from Henderson, KY (right across from Evansville) and I went to school in Ohio. Seems like Indiana is well represented on this board. Hey man I work at Cummins in Columbus. How about you?
  18. I had those same lights come on in my truck a while back and it ended up being a wheel speed sensor that was bad. That would be my guess, and that it is unrelated to your changing the shocks.

  20. I think they will be better too as long as we can get some guys to come off the bench and give some quality time. Heard today that JJ turned down goin to the pros so we have him for at least one more year. Recruiting class for next year looks good...I'm already gettin excited!
