  1. Just a guess, but I would think it's waiting for parts. This article is a few months old, but might explain the issue: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/05/general-motors-is-stockpiling-unfinished-vehicles-due-to-microchip-shortage/
  2. Has anyone ever looked and found part numbers for just the clips? I had one that did not hold and it's on the highway somewhere. Hoping that I do not have to buy a whole new plug, but resigned to the fact that I may have to.
  3. Hello, Thanks for the great information everyone. I am finally getting after this mod - moving the bumper plug to the bed of the truck. I was able to do everything successfully, but the only thing that I cannot seem to get working is getting the clips to hold for the plug that is now in the bed of the truck. I know that Cool J said that he had to modify the clips to get them to work. Is anybody able to provide an explanation as to how you accomplished this? I did remove the bed liner already, so the plug is sitting against metal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Hello, I replaced my pin box with the Reese Goosebox so that I could keep the bed of my truck clear and switch to a goose neck system. The Goosebox does not void the warranty on my 5th wheel frame, and it was a very easy install. I was coming from an older 5th wheel hitch and would have had to upgrade it anyway, so the cost was essentially a wash for me. Again, the added benefit of not having to lift out a heavy hitch and keep the bed of the truck open 100% of the time made it a no brainer for me.
  5. I don't know about the active shutters, but I have seen his videos before. I could not imagine paying $80k+ (Canadian) for a truck and then ripping it apart like he does...gives me nightmares.
  6. I had this exact same issue with my 2016. I felt it was a safety issue - if I took my foot slightly off the brake the truck would actually surge forward. If I was slowly creeping forward into a parking space or garage, it was a little nerve racking. Dealer had no idea what it was. Like yours, it was intermittent. When I sold the truck, I fully disclosed the issue to the buyer. Supposedly he had a diesel mechanic friend that said this was typical of these diesel trucks that have mostly city miles on them (which mine did, but sounds like yours does not). He said they just needed a good manual regeneration to clean them out. I have no idea if that is true or not, just relaying what he said. Sorry I cannot be of more help - but thought I would mention that I had something similar.
  7. No instructions, but this guy shows the install starting at about 5:34. Good luck.
  8. See page 219 of the owner's manual and this article here: https://www.safetyresearch.net/blog/articles/general-motors-quietly-installs-keyless-engine-shutoff. I could see how that would be annoying in your particular situation, although for me I cannot see a situation where I would have the vehicle parked and running for more than an hour.
  9. You have to put the front ones on. The way you have it now, it definitely looks like they are just missing. Otherwise, looks great - good mod.
  10. I have the Husky x-act contour and love the fit and coverage. I like them because they are not rigid and slippery.
  11. Finally picked up my truck from the detailers today. Finished up with a full PPF and ceramic coating. I also threw on the Gatorback mud flaps before I drove it home. Big shout out to Richard at Refine Automotive Salon here in Calgary - absolutely amazing job. Very happy with the results.
  12. His is a Denali. It’s not available on the Denali build in Canada.
  13. Looks amazing! Love that colour.
  14. A few pictures of the new truck at the detailers getting the XPel Ultimate Plus PPF installed. I picked the truck up at the dealer with 35 km on it, drove it straight to detailers and ended with 38 km on it. PPF should be done by end of day tomorrow, 24 hour cure then they start on the ceramic coating. May be able to pick it up Sunday or Monday. The first couple of pictures are of a scratch I missed at the dealer on pickup (asked the dealer not to touch the truck with a cloth, so it was a bit dirty), as well as the same area after the fix: On the picture below showing drivers side front and rear door, the rear door already has the PPF on it:
  15. I hate to be a stickler, but he is saying that Royal Dutch (oil supplier, not a vehicle manufacturer) is giving you a 500,000 mile warranty. The article you sent says it is illegal for a manufacturer to tie their warranty to a specific type of lubricant. I don't know if the Royal Dutch statement is true, however it is two completely different scenarios.
  16. Don’t know yet, we will see Monday.
  17. The proper ones were installed....
  18. Well, according to my dealer - “sometimes the parts get shipped separately”, but at least he is now onboard that they are not going to be painting the stock black ones. Phew.
  19. Thanks everyone - I will clarify with the dealer. I'm assuming they just have not looked inside yet and hopefully they are in the truck.
  20. I am going to talk to him tomorrow. My understanding is that "LPO" means the parts are sent to the dealer for them to install. Hopefully he's mistaken.
  21. That's interesting. I wonder if white is different than Dark Sky Metallic. Mine clearly shows LPO on the order workbench.
  22. Ugh - I've seem the pictures of my truck and they are definitely black.
  23. Hello, I ordered the colour matched wheel arch mouldings and confirmed that it was on my order. The truck came into the dealer with the black mouldings on and they are telling me that the dealer body shop paints these. Is that correct? If so, aren't they liable to peal and look terrible later on?
  24. I did find some stake hole covers for a previous truck, cleans it up a bit. I have not looked for the new ones yet.
  25. Which Retrax did you get? My dealer told me the one with the wide rail is not available for the 3500HD. Just curious if you experienced the same thing.
