  1. Probably can't support the weight of the vehicle safely.
  2. fyi
  3. and race..............
  4. I am on my 3rd truck with power steps and I NEVER had any issues, NEVER. I live in the vicinity of Houghton Mich which is near Lake Superior in heavy snow belt. If you let other dictate what you buy then you might as well sit home and never go anywhere or buy anything. Current have a 2024 Sierra Denali Reserve with power steps, had a 2017 and 2021 same. PS, I never do anything to them but I do use touch-less car washes when feasible and use the undercarriage spray. But as with any mechanical device, inactivity can be worse then continued use. So every once in a while, push button rear of board to deploy them towards rear when used to access the box. Do not use a product like WD40 to lube them, its has opposite effect. As for can the be left in the out position, don't think so. But they can be disabled to not deploy with button on center stack.
  5. You were making some sense to me about oil in the yellow bottle until you said the above. I would never put ANY oil additive in my engine, its foolishness. Pennzoil I would never use. Had a fleet vehicle and could only go to quick lubes that took our fleet card. The convenient shop near my home was a Pennzoil. My suburban was using 2 qts of oil per change of 5,000 miles and I put on 2500 miles a month (GPS DOT Surveyor). I found a different shop that would accept the fleet card and they carried Havoline. Went 5,000 miles and only down 1/2 qt. Never put in Pennzoil again and it never used more than a qt in 5,000 miles.
  6. Simple, Dealer DOES NOT have an allocation to get his order placed. No allocation, order won't get picked up. Find another dealer and make sure they can order it. Dealers only receive allocation if earned ...some weeks it is not earned and not available...
  7. Your transmission still thinks it running oem tires. A truck that has different tires and wheels will have Engine power/performance concerns, Transmission shift concerns, Speedometer registered speed concerns, and Cruise Control concerns. The Engine Control Unit (ECM) and Transmission Control Module (TCM) use (RPM) and (VSS) inputs as operational parameters for engine torque, transmission shifting, cruise control operation and speedometer indicated vehicle speed.
  8. Never trust what the salesman tell you is the truth. They often have no idea whats going on, don't really care about an order besides are often not allowed to access that info. They work for the sales manager and everyday he gives them their walking orders, sell inventory.
  9. Dealers have no control over the teamsters and they will deliver when they deliver. Once the vehicle is released by GM, the shipper is in control. They have 1000's of vehicles to ship every day all over the world and are going to move vehicles that is most advantageous to their operation. First in does not always mean first out. They need to plan loads, build load and schedule drivers, trains etc. There is a nation wide shortage of truck drivers so all logistics companies are in dire need. Friend is a driver for a big nationwide chain store and they are paying existing drivers finder fee's to bring in more drivers. With gov't reg's etc, drivers are limited to how many miles and hours they can be behind the wheel. My 2024 was ordered mid April '24 (with allocation), scheduled TPW was july 20 and it arrived at the dealer the week of Aug 12 and the dealer installed options arrived the week of Aug '26.
  10. They use a big broom like brush. If you washing many cars a day I doubt you give a shoot about scratches that only a handful will notice.
  11. What this video, jump to the 12:00 where it talks about the long crank.
  12. Old post but if you watch this video they talk about the issue and what caused it. About 13:00 mark.
  13. Happens to me all the time when sun is low in the sky and I am driving towards. Noticed that back in 2021.
  14. Mine is only down 2 bars at 3,000 miles and just recently showed that. Was only 1 bar around 2,500.
  15. No, GM does not wash the vehicle and the dealer may will not do it till sold. But hand washing will create the swirl marks no doubt about it and darker colors will accentuate it. I have a black truck (24 GMC) and told my salesman to not let anyone wash it. Was not dirty at all making the trip from Mexico to Upper Michigan. Hand washing you are rubbing the dirt into the clear coat and the dealer prep guys do 100's of vehicles and could care less about what the paint looks like when they are done as they never stop coming.
  16. Had a a few Sierra Denali 6.2L, no problems. My brother had same engine in his 2017 and 2021 but in the SLT version. No problems and just bought a 2025 exact same truck albeit a different color. I got a 2024 3.0L diesel back in Aug and so far is been a great truck with much better mileage. So far its 25-28mpg(+-). So it all comes down to what you can live with. If you are going to worry over problems others complain about, keep driving the 2017 because forums like this bring out problems disproportionately.
  17. Bait and switch. I believe that is illegal, report to the BBB. Could be the station just got more fuel recently (hrs) and the attendant dropped the ball changing the sign. Could be that only the manager is allowed to do that and he is in the back room sleeping?
  18. Have a 2022 Polaris XP 1000 (2-seat) Premium Ride Command. This is my 3rd RZR in 10 yrs, keep moving up to higher end machine. 3 blocks from my house I can access trails and ride. We got lot of trails (old RR's) around here. 100% AMSOIL through out. Don't have any pics but you can see part of it in this one
  19. Its not the oil that's the problem. Its the design with all the moving complicated parts and acceptable tolerances on the parts. The fact that RAM uses the same DFM/AFM technology and experiences the same failure rate is proof in my opinion of the faults of the AFM/DFM technology. IMO. My brother went 4 yrs on his 2021 Sierra and had no problems. My neighbor has 150,000 miles on a 2012 Sierra, not lifer or oil burning problem. Common thread with both, just a truck and they don't give it a second thought, just drive it. Mention DFM/AFM and they have no idea what that is.
  20. If you expect perfection then park it in the garage and never drive it.
  21. Not a good idea to disconnect the battery. That can have unintended consequences in these new vehicles.
  22. The tailgate block is explained in the owners manual. Basically you need the key fob in hand and hold the top button for 7 seconds, tail lights flash when successful. 4 TPMS sensors should be in the vehicle somewhere unless dealer screwed up and removed them,
  23. Nothing better to do with your time? LOL
  24. I know someone who bought the same truck back in 2023 and complained of the same bouncy ride. Could not take so he traded in for an 2024 SLT. Its the AT4 suspension, its off-road tuned.
