  1. 1500 all standard and short except diesel - 24 gal Diesel - 22 gal https://www.chevrolet.com/support/vehicle/manuals-guides?compIndex=1&year=2024&make=Chevrolet&model=Silverado
  2. .................
  3. I think it is interesting that people support GM engineering on Dexos approved oils, but do not trust the oil change interval recommendation (re. Oil Life Monitor). PS-Dexos is a revenue stream for GM.
  4. A down grade IMO.
  5. The fact that is was not level is your problem. If you can't get a 1.5 qts back in then you did not fully drain all the old fluid out.
  6. Sure the problem is the truck, its whole existence depends on a full charged battery and your driving is not providing that, weather you want to admit that or not. RE: Transport Mode is intended for use when shipping new GM models over long distances from the assembly plant. When enabled, It reduces the parasitic electrical load on the battery when the vehicle is parked, which extends the battery stand time up to 70 days without the battery going dead. Transport Mode should be left on while the vehicle is in dealership inventory. In addition, a customer may want to use Transport Mode if the vehicle is going to be stored. The method to turn Transport Mode off or on again is the same.
  7. Not necessarily. Many dealers use bulk fluids supplied by a GM approved vendor who delivers it and fills the holding tanks. It meets the same spec but it could be some other brand that GM approves. Currently they have contracts with SOPUS and Mobil but that does not prevent the dealer from getting it somewhere else for a lower price and charge GM prices.
  8. I have owned several (4) new Sierra Denali's with 6.2L engines since 2010 and use 91 octane. 93 is not available close by. I once was forced (empty tank late at night) to use 89 because the Shell station was out of 91 and I could notice the loss (hesitation) of performance on hills. Not one of these engines has given me any trouble, never use oil and I plan to keep it that way. If you don't want to use premium, why buy a 6.2L engine, just get the V6.
  9. Lower profile 22" speed rates tires are not for off-road. You will likely do damage tires and wheels due to lower sidewall not to mention lower ground clearance..
  10. Dealer inventory lists how many days vehicle has been in dealer inventory. But that info is not privy to anyone but dealers. I recall years ago when we were looking to dealer trade for a truck the salesman pulled up the vehicle and its list how many days it was in inventory. Longer its sitting more apt the dealer will be happy to dealer trade because it accruing interest on his floor plan.
  11. Z60 is standard Denail Suspension and I had 2 Sierra's with the Z60 and they rode good. better than a Z71 IMHO which I had occasion to drive frequently.
  12. It might have been something from the manufacturing process that found it way into the pan and it not related to your engine?
  13. I would have walked away too. Dealer sounds like an ahole, all don't come damaged. Nor much. GM builds want they want to build regardless of what the dealer wants or the customer. Production quantities are planned months in advance, It takes a lot of pre-planning to make 1000's of components come together to build a vehicle.
  14. I have the GM REV cover on my 2021 Sierra. It was dealer installed at new vehicle purchase. The only time I find leaks is when I go through a touch-less car wash and then its around the tailgate areas where side gaps exist. In the winter a small amount of snow gets sucked in around the tailgate. If you want a waterproof cargo area than you need to look at a Tahoe/Yukon.
  15. They have built the Tahoe and Yukon at Arlington Texas since 1998, Escalde since 1999 (1st Year for Cadi SUV). Before that it was built in Janesville Wis.
  16. They all have union contracts with shippers and if they ever tried that there likely would be a teamsters strike and shut everything down industry wide. Not only that, the vehicles are not ready to drive away as many need the dealer to take it out of hibernation and install misc items that the plant does not. All these stories about circumventing the shipping and picking up at the plant are just that, stories. There is NO WAY to avoid paying the shipping charges. Even Corvette's with museum delivery option have to place order with dealer (and pay dealer for everything), pay the same shipping as every other one + an additional optional fee for museum delivery and then it has to be delivered to a local dealer for prep and then delivered to the museum.
  17. The fix is to NOT use GM branded ATF. Use 100% Synthetic atf such as Mobil 1 or AMSOIL. The oem fluid does not hold up in these transmissions, especially the 8sp because of lower viscosity requirements. GM engineers may set standards but the bean counters control who gets the bid to supply lubes and all they have to do is meet the MINIMUM spec, no more, no less. End result, transmission failures, afm lifer failures etc. GM does not care what happens once the warranty expires, its your problem then. Their dealer will gladly take your money to repair them.
  18. I would change it out. I would never trust the shop to be proactive, they likely did only what was necessary and used the lowest cost products in their repair. If you are of the believe all lubes are the same, then drive with confidence.
  19. Following dealer recommendations can cost you more money than necessary. The dealer is not your friend, they have a vested interest in seeing you often and increasing their profits. Follow the owner's manual.
  20. I am surprised they would accept a credit card at all on a motor vehicle even for a deposit, due to possible charge-back. I tried that once in Michigan but they would not take a credit card. This almost always results in a fee to the merchant by CC company. Chargeback if often used to defraud the merchant as they have discovered, some CC issue it without substantiation. I know, I accept CC and been warned by my service provider on chargebacks.
  21. I do not hear anything. When operating in 4Hi there are more gears turning, rear axle, transfer case and front axle so some amount of noise it to be expected and it will likely increase/decrease with speed and road conditione. The tires can also contribute to more noise especially if they are oversize and aggressive tread. I have driven all makes and owned a GM 4wd truck since the mid 1980's. The fact that I cannot hear anything abnormal in your video makes me side with the dealer. Is this your 1st4wd drive truck?
  22. Why even bother installing these silly accessories. Just a waste of money IMO. Went through the phase 25 yrs ago and realized the only ones benefiting from a CAI are the one selling them. Its more eye food than substance.
  23. I had mine open a few times in the first years, 3x as I recall. I was carrying the key fob in my pocket but I now carry it on a lanyard around my neck. Has not opened spontaneously since. I think carrying it a pocket there is the chance of something pushing on the open button?
  24. There is a Advertising fee but dealer are also charging a (paperwork) processing fee which many states allow. I seen some as much as $500+, basically they are charging you to take your money.
  25. Friend just bought his wife a 2023 Furd Maverick and it's on the invoice and furd calls it an "Acquistion Fee".
