1. If they are not using OEM parts then that's problem. Friend owns a big repair shop and he will not use anything buy OEM ignition parts. Says, way to many come backs and never a problem using the OEM parts. Anyone who does not want to pay the price for oem parts, he will not touch the vehicle. Cheap parts cost him big with come backs and pissed off customers.
2. Rancho shocks is the correct name. They are known for off-road performance suspensions etc. When I was looking to get a new truck in 2021 the salesman talked me into test driving a trail boss. A couple miles of driving and my mind was made up, No thanks. My main concern was harder to get in and out of and a rougher ride and aggressive tires. While many like those features, its not for me. I would not rely on what I read on the net as most are just opinions (like mine) that have no basis in reality. People hate the tires, they hate the shocks, they hate this, they hate that etc. Yet they fly off dealers lots, so obviously some have the opposite view.
3. Those mirrors were supplied by "GENTEX" as I recall. Not sure of the exact spelling.
4. There are market forces that have a vested interest in convincing vehicle owners to change their oil more often than necessary. The legal prey of these market forces have become convinced that they are purchasing "cheap insurance" or "peace of mind" by changing their oil more often than necessary. I kept this from a industry publication some time ago About the only ones that really need a 3,000-mile oil change are the quick-lube outlets and dealership service departments. In their internal industry communications, they're frank about how oil changes bring in customers. "Many people...know when to have their oil changed but don't pay that much attention to it," said an article in the National Oil and Lube News online newsletter. "Take advantage of that by using a window sticker system [and] customers will be making their way back to you in a few short months."
5. OMG, can you believe this? How is that possible? How come no other oil companies are doing this? Oh wait, hasn't AMSOIL been saying this for 50 yrs?
6. No 4L60 behind a 6.0L
7. Nothing is left to chance in the engine assembly plants and much is automated so likely no human hands touched it.
8. Put the cap wrench on the filter first, then insert the ratchet extension just far enough to turn it. Don't push it in all the way or the cap won't fit tight on the filter flutes.... This could be why the cap does not fit...extension is not letting cap wrench all the way onto the filter. Been there.....
9. When I get a vehicle, what the dealer may tell me is irrelevant. I change oil on my terms and when I can't do it myself I take it to a local shop where I know the owner for many years. I give him my AMSOIL and he does is for a nominal fee. I drove fleet trucks for 30 yrs (GPS Survey Team had 6) and our mandated OCI's were 5,000 miles period, no exceptions. This used to really po a coworker because he was a die hard 3,000 miles OCI person. Yet he changed oil religiously on his 1980 Olds every 3,000 miles with Pennzoil and it was burning oil so bad at 80,000 it needed a new rebuilt engine. Yet our work trucks never had engine failures and were worked harder than his babied Olds. Drivers were not allowed to make decisions on maintenance, everything needed MAP approval before work started.
10. 703 hrs 21, 350 miles as of this am 2021 Sierra Denali CC 4wd 6.2L - 10sp
11. GM has a bad history with low bidder ATF that last 10 yrs or so. I would replace the OEM ATF wannabe synthetic with a PAO synthetic asap and not use anything GM recommends. Get the best available that is not associated with GM as they only care about the truck lasting the warranty, after that its YOUR PROBLEM.

13. Someone wiped out a Avalanche this week..more used parts in the system..
14. Wait for it, 0W-16 is coming soon to a GM engine. and 0W-8 is not far behind.....
15. I have had my truck since 12/2020 and up until about 3 months ago, ACC worked flawlessly. But in the last 2-3 months it kicked out 3x, 2x in one day on the same 200 miles run. It shuts off and say its temporarily unavailable. No other vehicles in sight, 2-lane rural blacktop, level terrain, no hills but long periods on cruise. I talked to a GM service about it and they said, some times these electronics have a mind of their own and you won't find anything amiss? Probably true.
16. I just talked with a guy yesterday who got a new 2022 K2500 CC Silverado diesel, just CC long box work truck. GM bought back his 2021 due to frequent and severe engine/transmission issues. He said the dealer had it more than he did and they could not solve the problems. The dealer told him GM wanted it back so they debug it. He owns a construction company and has a few GM diesels trucks, every 2 yrs he bugs a new one but keeps them till the fall apart so the dealer went to bat with GM ro facilitate the buy-back.
17. I was with a friend who was truck shopping Sat. He is looking for a 4wd CC Silverado or GMC with a 5.3L. They had 15 with 2.7L in or on the way, Said those are the ones that are coming through no problem. Had 2 with 5.3L but are a TB and AT4, which he does not want as they are close to $65K.. Most of the 2.7L trucks are under $50k. Dealer will discount the 2.7L trucks a $1,000 but the 5.3 (2), 6.2L (1) and 3.0L (2) are msrp. I heard the sales manager remark, we can get all the truck we want as long as its the 2.7L engine.
18. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a1997851/vw-cover-maintenance-costs-sludge-damaged-engines/
The engines were prone to oil sludge from coking deposits even when maintained according to the automaker's recommended maintenance intervals and oil-quality specifications, court documents show.
19. 1-GM Fluids are from the lowest bidder. Don't believe that because GM uses it, its the best, its only good enough for them. 2-Chattering in the locker is indicative of worn out fluid, change the fluid. Use the GM junk or your favorite aftermarket brand. I recommend AMSOIL. 3-DO NOT USE friction modifier in the G80 Locking rear differential. Friction modifiers are designed to be used in Limited Slip Differential WHICH are normally installed in cars. Truck use a different system which is designed to lock up and adding more friction modified can cause problems similar to what you are experiencing. Posi or limited slip differential are designed to slip as opposed to the locker which does NOT. GM Marketing info
20. I truly believe GM expected a high failure rate with AFM/DFM systems but they are committed to it and are willing to live with the consequences. As a service tech I know put it, its not if a lifer will fail, its when you have to worry about.
21. The part of the country you live in is probably a big contributor to this, e.g forest fires, factory and power plant emissions. My nephew has been driving black trucks for almost 20 yrs, Sierra HD and I asked him about the paint, said not a problem. He lives in northern Wisconsin...
22. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits product manufacturers from conditioning consumer warranties on the use of any original equipment part or service. Furthermore, a manufacturer can only deny warranty coverage if it can demonstrate that a non-original equipment part or related service caused a defect to occur in the original product. In the case of motor vehicles, new car manufacturers have ignored these conditions outlined in Magnuson-Moss and have misled consumers to believe that they must have dealer service shops install only original equipment replacement parts or fear having their new car warranty voided.
