  4. Its affecting all of them. Fiend has a 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 and you cannot get oil filters for them. If you can find one (rare) they are selling for several hundred $$, normal is $37. His friend works for the local Furd dealer and this is what Furd says; "Obsolescence pending searching for vendor improvements". Said that's code for vendor cannot get parts to make filter, has a special inner steel core to prevent collapse. No after-market filters available, patent lock.
  5. GM only recommends what makes them money. They cannot dictate what brand of oil you use. The FTC has stated that it’s illegal for an automobile dealer or OEM to refuse your warranty coverage because someone else performed routine maintenance or repairs on your vehicle. Any independent auto technician, a chain service repair business, or even yourself in your driveway are allowed to do routine maintenance or repairs on your vehicle.
  6. Change brands of oil. Not all oil is the same although many think so. https://www.lubesngreases.com/magazine/23_3/a-volatile-situation/
  7. Part of the problem is logistics. Shortage of rail-cars, congestion in the rail system, shortage of truck drivers. Friend works for a major US retailer (truck driver) and the starting salary is $97,500/yr and they cannot recruit enough drivers to fill their needs. To the point they are paying existing drivers big bonus's for referring drivers. The oem's created a lot of these problems by continuing the build vehicles that are missing components and now there are long delays in shipping the parts and the completed vehicles. Its the economy, the climate control zealots are in control in DC and are trying to run the oil companies out of business and that has unintended consequences.
  8. The chance a vehicle ordered on April 4, 2022 already built is none. Saturday is the order cutoff date for the week. So a vehicle ordered on April 4, 2022 at the dealer would not even have a chance of being picked up until the following Monday, April 11 so its not possible to even be in the system till April 11th. Its get assigned a vin when its being built and once the vehicle is produced and invoiced it becomes available to the dealer. DOSP - Dealer Order Submission Process The weekly process consists of 4 stages. 1. Constraints Distribution - Dealers are informed on constraints to review before placing orders. (A Constraint is a limit placed on specific build configurations.) 2. Dealer Order Submission - Dealers can order on Thursday, Friday or no later than midnight on Saturday. (You can submit orders earlier but you don't know the constraints.) 3. The 4-Pass Process - GM will attempt to place each dealer’s orders on Mondays using a 4-Pass process. (At this point a dealer may get more or less than what they were allocated.) 4. Dealer Review - You can review your placed orders for changes or replacements until Tuesday at 9pm ET. That's when the accepted orders are sent to production control.

  10. Its in the tank and part of the pump. Not serviceable..
  11. This was dated about 1 0 yrs ago..... Some customers have commented that they have been advised to replace their vehicle’s fuel filter periodically. On many vehicles, the fuel filter is non-serviceable (see table). The filter is an integral part of the fuel pump module and fuel pressure regulator assembly. The filter can be serviced only by replacement of the fuel module assembly. This process requires the removal of the fuel tank (one to two hours of labor, depending on the model), plus several hundred dollars in unnecessary parts. The vehicle owner’s manual outlines the periodic maintenance service required, under the Maintenance 1 and Maintenance 2 guidelines. Routine fuel filter replacement does not appear on either of these schedules. In the future, due to the increased regulation of evaporative emissions, fuel systems utilizing a non-serviceable filter will become more common as new models are introduced.
  12. The dealer got the truck and they know you want it so they are not likely to give in.

  14. You been watching to much left wing media bs......
  15. Friend was telling he and wife went from MI to FL for bike week with a friend in his 2021 Trail Boss 6.2L towing a few bikes. Got to SC, water pump failed. Got close to Daytona, motor started make noise (not lifers). 10,000 miles. Dealer cannot source a new engine so they had to leave truck down there and its still there. Dealer said, engine will have to come from assembly plant warehouse and may take looooong time.
  16. Friend was just telling me he ordered a 2022 Polaris RZR with a MSRP over $30K. Last week he got a letter for Polaris corp informing him his new RZR was going up in price by min %5. He is po'd, at the time he ordered he was told it would lock in the prices but now they are going back on that. He has money down, had to do that in order for the dealer to place the order. · 4300 Intermediate Delivery Could mean at an upfitter, another lot, or sitting waiting for available shipping at some storage area. Friend who lives in the Flint area and has seen all the trucks sitting around said a train a 100 miles would not load them all. Keep in mind a lot of vehciel from other plants get shipped in for local distribution. He has seen Camaro's and Cadillac's as well and they are built in Lansing.
  17. To upgrade is NOT FREE provided you can still upgrade an older vehicle. I seem to recall Onstar changed around the 2013 model year.
  18. The refreshed 2022 are being made in the plant in Mexico and the 2500 is made in Michigan. One has nothing to do with the other. Trouble is they made so many trucks with missing parts is that there is so much to do and not enough time to do it. I know someone who works at the Flint (not in production) plant and he said every vacant lot in the area is full of trucks waiting on transportation. First they had to be trucked to the storage areas, then the have to be trucked back to a rail head and this.... 20. Oil changes offer little to no profit for many oem dealers. Instead, oil changes are a way to bring customers in the door and earn opportunities for additional, more profitable services. Dealers are wary of premium extended life motor oils that could limit their chance to upsell the customers. Having them come back at 3,000, 5,000 miles intervals increases their profits. I bring my own oil and filters to the dealer and they charge me only $20 to do the oil change + the do a inspection which is code for "find something we can upsell the customer". They tried that last time, SA came into showroom where is was and started to sell me on a BG transmission flush? I think the only reason they charge $20 is because that's what the quiklube 1/4 mi down the road charges..
  21. 6sp - Use Dexron VI 8sp - Use Dexron HP 10sp - Use Dexron ULV Transfer cases use Dexron VI HP = High Performance ULV - Ultra Low Viscosity No continuously variable transmission (CVT) in full size trucks! As far as I can find, only the Chevy Spark and Malibu with a 1.5L Turbo have a CVT trans and it comes from an outside source.
