  1. Read the fine print "for compatible roads". In order to operate Super Cruise, you must have an active and eligible GMC Connected Services† plan. Super Cruise vehicles are also connected to OnStar® Emergency Services†, so Emergency-Certified OnStar Advisors can assist drivers should they become nonresponsive while Super Cruise is active. https://www.gmc.com/connectivity-technology/super-cruise

  3. There is a private party2021 GMC sierra at4 for$58,000 and it has not sold in well over a month. 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 1/2 ton diesel - Heads up display, technology package - Split tailgate - Tonneu cover, spray in bed liner,
  4. I always use 91 premium and 99% of the time its Murphy with occasional Shell and they don not have ethanol in the 91 in this area as so stated on the pumps. Near Lake Superior and no sensible boater will buy ethanol blended fuel. On 93, a local marine dealer told me some time ago that all 93 has ethanol blend to meet the 93 level and that's why you won't find stations around here selling it. Boaters and snowmobiler's wouldn't buy it. Not trying to start an ethanol argument but stating reasons for only 91 available here (Lake Superior adjacent)
  5. It takes 6 qts, you put in 6 qts. Why do you want to add more? That's nuts. Reminds me of someone I know that claimed the same problem, it showed a 1/2 qt low (he said) after he did the oil change so he topped it off. Next day he checks the oil and its showing overfull by a small amount. I know this because he kept bugging me about it because I more or less convinced him to buy the vehicle after he asked my opinion. Since then he is nit-picking finding faults with the vehicle that are not really faults, he is just compulsive and is checking the oil more times in a week than I do in 5 yrs. Some oil is always going to cling to interior engine parts (ever more so with synthetics) so of the 6 qts some its not all draining back and you are over thinking it. Sorry if that offends buy but it had to said. Put in 6 qts and drive it.
  6. I friend was telling me a similar story with her elderly (80's) aunt and push button start. She had went grocery shopping and when she came home she was tired so she called her niece who lives a block away. Mary was saying she went right over to help Nancy unload the groceries. Upon entering the garage she found the car was still running, some 10-20 min after she arrived home. Nancy being hard of hearing did not hear the horn honk when she left the vehicle. I am not sure if the new 2021 Jeep SUV's have the time out feature but it could have been a real catastrophe had the engine continued to run killing anyone in the home with carbon monoxide. I hate the push button start.. I recall my dads first car had push button start, a 1950 Chevrolet but they still had a key. We have come full circle now everyone thinks that new technology. LOL
  7. You can purchase a GM extended warranty anytime before the 3 yrs / 36,000 miles basic warranty expires, I am told by a local GMC dealer finance manager. He recommended not waiting until last moment to avoid missing a date due to paperwork snafu's. Also he said, every fall the prices are adjusted upward. Whatever you buy starts on the date its effective, it is not added on the end of the GM new car warranty's. If you have 1 yrs left on the basic and you buy a 3 yr warranty, you only have +3 yrs, not 4.
  8. Soot causes oil to turn black While heat cycles cause oil to darken, soot causes oil to turn black. Most people associate soot with diesel engines, but gasoline engines can produce soot as well, particularly modern gasoline-direct-injection engines. Soot is a byproduct of incomplete combustion. Since soot particles are less than one micron in size, they typically don’t cause engine wear. For comparison, a human hair is roughly 70 microns in diameter. If soot particles agglomerate into larger wear-causing contaminants, the oil filter will catch them. Sometimes people who use bypass filtration systems, which can filter contaminants down to two microns, express surprise that the motor oil is still black. Soot, however, can still elude filtration down to two microns. Any finer filtration and the filter could catch dissolved additives in the motor oil.
  9. I have never ever in 30+ yrs gotten anything from GM encouraging me to buy an extended warranty. That's more of a dealer offering and not all dealers offer the GM backed warranty. Several dealers around here have another brand called Zurich? They basically sell what makes them the most money...
  10. Oil Myth: The color of the oil indicates when it’s time for an oil change It’s common to assume that black motor oil has worn out or become too saturated with contaminants to protect your engine and requires changing. Not necessarily. The only surefire way to determine if the oil has reached the end of its service life is to perform oil analysis. Chemically analyzing an oil sample reveals the condition of the oil, the presence of contaminants, fuel dilution and so on. Absent oil analysis, it’s best to follow the oil-change recommendation given in your vehicle owner’s manual or by the motor oil manufacturer. It’s best to trust the data, not your eye, in this case. Otherwise, changing the oil could amount to throwing away good oil. Heat cycles naturally darken motor oil Soot causes oil to turn black
  11. Parts Voice says this dealer shows one (1) in stock. Allan Hornbeck Chevrolet Forest City, PA 18421 570-785-3144 https://www.partsvoice.com/partsearch
  12. fyi - Supplier and employee discounts etc are a fixed amount on the invoice and are non-negotiable, it is what it is and can't be changed. Depending how the vehicle is configured determines the supplier price like the final sticker price. And like you said, dealers are NOT obligated to honor those prices because every dealer is an independent business and can sell for the price they determine is fair market value. But those who are able to buy for those prices should not expect a high trade-in as the dealer has less margin to work with. Generally speaking, supplier pricing is higher the dealer invoice but less the MSRP. Employee prices is below dealer invoice and less the supplier.
  13. There is no way to find out about a particular vehicle as there are probably 1,000's on any given day waiting to ship. All you can do is wait for it to show up and look it over closely. I doubt if it is severely damaged it will ever ship.
  14. ?Replaced with what? Some generic parts or oem AC Delco??
  15. Same here, my dealer will give you a loaner even if its going to be a couple hours. Some are just aholes and the customer is not important to them. Remember that next time it comes time to spend you money. I had that happen a few years ago where the service adviser dissed me. I will never go there ever again and get enjoyment telling others to avoid them because the SM is a an arrogant sob.
  16. We use to idle our vehicles all days long as we were Route Surveyors for a state DOT and worked near traffic all the time. The vehicle had to stay running to power the strobe lights, rotating beacons, t-way radios not to mention protect workers and alert motorists of our presence in the roadway. We were constantly moving all day long especially when we doing differential levering....
  17. Is the condensation actually from the engine. My bet is the catch can is the source of 99% of it. I have seen a lot where they are mounted where the can cool down quickly and they can lead to a lot of condensation forming the CC IMO.
  18. I have owned 5 GM trucks in the last 25+ yrs and every one had a G80 and I never once had any issues with it. Millions of trucks and SUVs have been successfully using a G80 for the many years. It is an excellent product. Like anything, it can be misused, misrepresented and blamed for things that are not its fault. Then there are some individuals that just seem to have a hatred for it and will repeat unfounded rumors to discredit it.
  19. The term synthetic oil has been bastardized by big oil and what they call synthetic might not be synthetic at all. Your free oil change is going to be with the lowest cost oil from a bulk oil supplier that just meets spec', no more, no less. They are not going to use Mobil 1 unless you are paying extra for it. Free; you get what you pay for.

  21. Going to be hard proving its a factory defect so insurance is the way to go. They won't argue with you. Usually, a spontaneous break in your auto glass likely started as a crack or some other damage that went unnoticed. Lots of things can happen to vehicles in 3 weeks not to mention the time in transit etc.
  22. This was put out by GM service........Dealers are not always the most reliable source for information.
  23. Fwiw. There are various levels of websites a dealer can purchase/subscribe to and what inventory they can elect to show and when. The websites are not GM managed but a vendor does it. https://www.sincrodigital.com/GM
  24. No, you only have an preliminary order with a dealer, not with GM. GM is not obligated to build anything so no matter how many orders a dealer has, if he has no allocations there is little to no chance the order will ever get accepted. GM is trying to balance production. Keep in mind they have 1,000's of suppliers that need to provide the parts etc to build vehicles so the have to plan far in advance this the need to control the orders from dealers. Maybe this will provide more info on the allocation process Also, keep in mind that the dealer can prioritize his orders. If a good customer of the dealer wants something there is nothing to stop the dealer from moving his order up to No. 1. See below.
